We are currently working on the Aucklands Predominant Peaks Ad Lab and are trying to visit one stage per trip to Auckland. I chose Mt Hobson for this trip as the other stages have lots of geocaches on the mountains and today we are pressed for time. This mountain has 2 caches and a lab stage so perfect for today! This was a quick find before the big climb!..why do I always save the strenuous walks for last!?! All good here..TFTC

#13,910. Lucky last find of the day. A consolation prize after a DNF in a nearby gully where the mosquitos sucked out a few litres of my blood leaving me with an itch to get one more cache find before heading back home for dinner (to replenish lost blood). Parked nearby and headed up the hill. I remember doing another cache in the same spot in the past. The adlab stage up the hill will have to wait for another day. Nice quick find here. Signed the logsheet and replaced the cache as found. Thanks G_2 for the cache.

Hi G_2This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived. Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.RegardsTheCoddiwompler

The logs below suggest this is quite a clever hide so perhaps I was outsmarted on this occasion!

Tried for a bit but decided to many people around to keep looking S&J

Some say this is easy, some say it is hard, some find it after a short search and some after a long one. Add my name to the ones who could not find it at all.

Oops, no, didn't find it.

Up in Auckland today for another geocaching adventure, and after picking up a variety of caches up One Tree Hill, we headed over this way. Great view from the top, and a good little spot for this cache which has amazing camo. An fp from me, TFTC Smile

Another G2 classic...awesome..cheers V

I was in the area dropping FMZ off to a local clinic to have some moles removed. So while waiting to pick him up, I wandered off to get a few caches as long as he was busy. Was rather hoping he was going to be a while, but I just ended up with 2 caches. His little op was rather quick but damn expensive!

Anyway, I was a bit worried by the previous cachers DNF, but I persisted and found exactly what I was expecting! Thanks G.

Just couldn’t find it.

10-May-22
Heading home, we had time for just one more cache. We have visited this gz a number of times to find previous caches, so we thought we knew the best place to park. Unfortunately today there was no parking to be found, and we had to park some distance away and walk back to gz. Once at gz, we soon spotted the well camouflaged cache - another great masterpiece by G-2! TFTC

I spent the morning looking after the Grandkids while their parents worked from home. I dropped the kids off at daycare in time to have lunch then sleeps and set off on todays geocaching targets.

I was hoping to grab a few puzzles, get the last two TMGT caches and head out towards the airport in plenty of time to collect my son at 6.30pm.

I was pleased as I achieved my goals and got 26 finds plus 2 labs for the day.

I grabbed this as I was in the area finishing off the Auckland section of the first tour. I've been here before but I'll never say no to two caches in the same place. Loved the dressed up cache. Thanks for another smile Smile

Daddypig was in charge of the phone today because I hadn't downloaded a list and there's no way I am wasting data! He directed me here, then as he was mentioning the recent(ish) DNF I bent down and picked up the cache from where the hint said it would be.

07-Apr-22
The name of this cache was very intriguing and so was the cache container thanks G-2. Paddle Chick and I are up in the Big Smoke for a few caches before heading to Northland and the Coromandel to hopefully sign off all the TMGT caches there before that tour goes kaput! TFTC # 18,288

Last cache for me today and I remember finding the previous one here not too long ago - actually hadn't realised it had been archived until this one popped up on my map. As I approached GZ there was a muggle mowing the grass so I had to leave it until later. I used that as a reason for a quick climb up Mt Hobson to admire the views for a bit, and when I came back down the lawnmower and muggle had gone, so I was able to retrieve the cache. Hadn't seen camo quite like this before, but it works very well. Thank you G-2 Smile

Happened to be in the general area with some time to spare so decided to head over here and grab the adventure lab information as well as the trads.

There were muggles around when I headed in so I took on the views first and lucky for me had a nice clear GZ on the way down. Didn’t take long to find the clever camo cache….have found similar dresses which helps.

Thanks for the cache.

Found this after climbing Mt Hobson. I definitely need to get fitter. A nice quick grab here before picking up my eldest teen at a nearby school for an appointment. I didn't get it before the big climb because of a couple of muggles coming down the hill. TFTC

Had been on a quick drive to the North Shore to see Miss NZT with Geodog in tow.

On the way back home Mrs NZT suggests a stop for a couple of caches.... NO ARGUMENT from Mr NZT.

We stop here in the heart of Remers and take Geodaog for a walk while we make the quick find here. Told Geodog to take a GOOD SNIFF as that smell is MONEY!!!!!! OMG valuations for houses here are in the MILLIONS!!! Instructed geodog NOT to toilet in this area Big Grin

We both loved the camo on this cache and award a fav for that.

We have found previous versions of this cache so it felt a bit like Deja Vu coming back here today.
When we parked there was no one around but a car pulled up just as we were heading towards the cache and by the time we got to GZ the muggles from the car were approaching with two dogs, so we pretended to take photos of the hill while we waited for them to pass.
One of the muggles saw a pile of what appeared to be dog excrement on the ground and seemed to get quite excited. She put a plastic bag on her hand, scooped it up with a squeal of joy and headed straight back to the car with her new acquisition.
This wouldn't have been strange if it had been one of her dogs that produced it but that did not appear to be the case so her behaviour was somewhat odd. Maybe she was just doing her doo diligence.
In any case this delayed the departure of the muggles by a few minutes but fortunately when she returned from the car they all headed off up the track without acquiring any more treats.
By this time more muggles had descended from above we so had to wait for them to pass before any searching could take place but these muggles were much faster and more focused and were soon out of sight.
With the coast finally clear the search began and a quick find was made, although had we not been familiar with G-2s brilliant camo creations we could easily have missed it.
Glad to get a new smiley here. Thanks G-2 for an excellent replacement cache. A definite favourite point from us.

I had found this one previously so knew exactly where to look for this one. TFTC Smile

Nice and easy find before walking up the (steep!) hill. Nice container. Favourite point for that. Thanks!

down from the TMGT, we noticed this little guy. We decided to look for it and went back from the car to the spot (only 60 meters away). At GZ, little cacher went to explore. It found something, but discard it, I then asked what he retrieved and I got a bit scared it was a dead animal. They have huge signs about poisoning rabbit, rats and stoats. In the end we found it. Great container, both logbook and container were in good condition. A fav from us! Well designed!

I am staying nearby so an after dinner walk was a good idea for a few more caches. Quickly found here in the dark. Neat container. Favourite point from me.
Travelled up from Dunedin for my first Mega event and wanting to sign off some geotour caches as well in Auckland and Northland.
Thanks for the cache, G_2

Hint leads straight to it. Awesome camo on this one thou so could be easily overlooked

Out and about this afternoon for a few caches involving a bit of a walk on this sunny day. While it isn't much of a walk from were I parked the car on Dilworth Ave to GZ this was the start of my walk up Mount Hobson to collect an adventure lab waypoint. I recall finding another cache or two around these here parts, but have lost count, honestly. Took a wee while to track this one down because of the camo and because it was slightly out of place (based on the hint information). I returned it as per the hint. I snapped a couple of pics from higher up protest hill to share. Once I have finished here it's off to Mount Eden for another climb for another ad lab waypoint. Cheers for the cache placement!

A nice quick find here as I've been here before but I'm not sure what the muggle thought I was doing when he walked past me while I was crouched down signing the log. When I went to put the cache back I found the archived cache so have removed that and will hold on to it til I see the CO again

10-Dec-21
Bit of a walk, but if a find, bit of fun for the day, tftc.

Mr P and I had a brilliant walk around the mountain and finding this one was an added bonus - great hide.

Lovely easy first find of 5 for geocaching Thursday with nette1234.
Thanks for this new one here G-2.

01-Dec-21
Great camo! Found a similar one recently so knew when my hand brushed against it what it was. About seven thousand steps from my house so far as a muggle was laying in the grass at the entrance so I walked around to the south side of the mountain and walked down again. She was still there but took no notice of me. Thanks for the cache and steps. I will get to 10k by the time I get home.2

What a nice surprise! I was up early ready to go for a bike ride along the cycleway next to motorway 16 and this new cache popped up - why not take a quick detour on the way, I said to myself? GZ was quiet and I found a nice blank log - FTF at 7.45am - TFTC.
