31/12/2021 - 11.40am - 1st and only find for the day.
NGS was my chauffeur today after he had to take his eldest to visit someone about her ear ache. This is the second geocaching trip for this year ... Covid-19, working from home, looking after non-geo grand daughters & resting after same has meant the year has flown past without me realising the trip we did was actually the previous year!
We had planned to arrive early but an important appointment happened at short notice so we arrived well later than planned but managed to get there in time.
The weather was hot, hot, hot so we didn't stay too long, the time for event was almost up & I also had to head back to my work machine as it wasn't a full day off from work for me.
It was lovely to see everyone today. Will I find more than 2 next year?
I remember now ... there's this logging thing that's needed!!

We thought we should attend one event in 2021 and why not the last one of the year for us. There were a few people that we knew plus some new ones we had not met.
Being 38C we stayed as long as we could but as we were looking after a dog for a friend we regretfully had to leave.

I'll be there (as will buhfuhguh despite what his lack of a will attend log may suggest) 
Change of mind due to the predicted 38 degrees. Not sure how to change"will attend" to say not coming any more.
It wasn't that hot for the event which is good nice to meet some other cachers here and exchange geo stories thanks for organizing this event surefoot
It was nice to gather with others in the shade of the large trees and in the rotunda on such a warm morning. Great to meet up with others at the end of the year. We were lucky enough to win a TB for the FTF prize. Thanks for organising the event surefoot24

Arrived a bit late but the crowd was still there. Caught up with the usual suspects and had a good chat about what experiences we have had over the past 12 months - which didn't take too long as you would expect due to the what the past year had offered us [B)]

Out and about today with Brainiac03 for another day of caching and another event and final event for the year. We'll another year ends a new one begins.
With this little cluster around to be the main focus for the pair of us today we proceeded all in all with no real stress or drama.

Good Riddance to 2021 indeed! Thanks surefoot24 for organising … such a lovely way to end the year on a positive note .. it was also great to meet fellow geocachers I have only met through zoom.
There are far too many "ends are just new beginnings" quotes adorning motivational posters and social media posts this time of year (no doubt either produced with the use of a Canva template or copy/pasted from someone who had done so previously), so I won't subject you to one here.
However, the final day on the calendar does also herald an annual tradition I'm far more fond of, namely that it was once again time to make a pilgrimage to Nyora to see the year out.
buhfuhguh and I made our way over to this lovely little town, but not before grabbing a few quick caches over to the east alongside some Maxibons from the general store, a wise decision for 38°C weather inspired by a similar choice made by the pinkpiggy.
It was excellent to see some faces I recognised from last year's rendition of the event and catch up with this wonderful group of people!

It was a good turnout today, despite very hot weather. We even got one couple out of retirement from Geocaching. A pleasant hour or so was spent sharing our year’s high and lows geocaching. Thanks to those who came and ‘made’ the event. I finish the year on 6100 finds. Unfortunately I forgot to take any photos.
I wish i could make it but alas i can not make it because i have Quarantine because my sister in-law tested positive & i have had to get tested & am now awaiting my results......
I have put aside time for this as it's a work day for me & hopefully the driver has listened 
Well the Swaggies may come out of retirement and attend with a bit of luck. Hope to bring that woodworking vice that I promised Darren a year ago.
