I love the variety of the caches that have been placed along the harbour. It has been good to get out of the car and walk along the walkways. Thankyou for placing and maintaining these caches, Natalie247.

Cunning hide. Found with 1066. On our way back to Dunedin. We tried on the way out but a guy was parked up having a picnic - right by the spot

29-Oct-24
A van was parked here on the way up the road but it was gone on the way back so we could find the cache easily this time. A bit sneeky.

28-Oct-24
Heading back from an early start on the coast, we pulled in here also to claim the Adv.lab point and this cache, and came across another team of cachers doing the same thing....Day 4 (and last day), in Dunedin for Geo Toroa (Mega) with a team of cachers from South, East Auckland (SEAC), NZTravellers, KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, and myself. This is our usual annual caching trip where we usually travel to a Mega (in NZ thus far) and/or cache the area, or select an area most of us haven't been caching before, to gain maximum numbers for all. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining caches in some stunning locations that we may not have visited had it not been for geocaching.Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space unless specifically required to sign individually.TFTC.Razz

Which was handy as my satnav wouldnt settle ??

Today was day 4 of our visit to Dunedin for the Mega event. Today we just stuck around the Dunedin area picking up caches and ad lab points as we encountered them, including previously solved puzzles. We have signed most logs with SEAC as there are 5 caching names between our group of seven; Keylev, UncleSam, NZTravellers, Stik-a-crane and us. Lots of fun had and memories made with great friends. All a bit tired now and ready for home. Just a few more caches first. We bumped into BarefootGuru here, we spotted them looking around with a phone in hand, but htey were gettin into their car when they saw us approach. Once they realised we were doing the same as them, we joined forces to make the find.

The weather was sunny but still chilly today! Thanks to all the CO's who had maintained the caches as we found a majority with fresh paper and containers!Found it you against rock with other cachers.TFTC

A plan was hatched quite a while ago when the Dunedin Mega was announced to come over to the South Island again.I have only been to New Zealand twice before and I loved the South Island. So a chance to come back for a Mega was a no brainer for me.Everything was booked and I flew in last Saturday after a bit of a delay. So a drive from Oamaru to Dunedin yesterday and I had finally arrived at Mega central Dunedin. So Day 7 of my Mega NZ trip begins and I have teamed up with Roaming Howie again so lets go find a few more caches around the area.We are planing on being on the Otago Peninsula for the day doing some Geoart and any other caches that we stop at.A great looking rock, mound and tree.A few pics were taken of this one.The cache blended in so well and we missed it on the first couple of passes. Thanks Natalie247 TFTC.

24-Oct-24

Day 10 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc. We arrived in Dunedin yesterday and today we hired bikes to ride the Otago Vine including a ferry ride across the bay.We managed to collect a lot of the puzzles we had prepared for and I think we only had a couple of DNFs. It rained, the sun shone, the wind blew, it was calm - the whole gamut really. Thanks for contributing to the fun Natalie247

24-Oct-24
Day ten of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris. We have at last arrived in Dunedin. We spent today riding the Otago Vine clockwise, collecting caches as we came across them.Stopped at Port Chalmers for lunch then caught the ferry to Portobello.Mostly a nice day except for a bit of rain just out of Portobello (but we soon dried off).Almost didn't recognize the cache container it was so muddy. We can easily see how the rock got its name though. Thanks, Robmc.

I am in Dunedin early to attend the Mega next weekend so in the meantime Im getting caches when I can. This cache was found in good condition.

11-Oct-24
DNA... Was not able to look for the cache due to some young idiots climbing the rock. Thankfully no-one was hurt, but I did hang around until they'd all come down. Sadly they were still hanging about and I had no chance to search.

Me and b nabbed this sneaky hide

03-May-24
I had wanted to bike all the way from Portobello to Port Chalmers this morning and catch the ferry back early afternoon. Unfortunately the minimum number of passengers hadnt been met (based on booking in advance), so my proposed sailing wasnt going to eventuate. That meant I had plenty of time to find caches and turn around and head back when I got sick of biking, especially with a rather strong head wind having a detrimental effect on my outing! Anyway, getting to the point, I picked up six caches in 12 kms. This one was a reasonably quick find. #7368. TFTC.

28-Apr-24
I overlooked this one at first, and it wasn't until 4Clubs had another look did we find it. Cheers for the cache Natalie

28-Apr-24
We took a while to spot this one, time has created even more camouflage than what the container originally looked like. TFTC

Natst se pak prodrala houtm njak mlad ochrnkyn prody, kter la naplnit pasti proti oposumm jedem, a ta mi poradila, e nco divnho vidla v zemi pln mimo souadnice. No byla to keka. Today I found another old cache from November 2000 in Unity Park and then went to see the Otago peninsula. I enjoyed geocaching and nice views and made it to the end to the colony of albatrosses and blue penguins. However, neither type of animal can be seen here without taking part in an organized tour, and they were sold out and it started to rain. So I went around the lookout points and took a different route over the ridge of the cliffs back to Dunedin. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.

Ms_KR and I are heading to Invercargill for a tramping club 75th jubilee, so we left a bit early in hope that the weather would be fine, so we could get a bit of caching in. So far it has been good, fingers crossed for the rest of the time away.

After reading the hint we thought we might be looking for several objects with one of them different from the others, which stumped us when all we could see were a couple of benches. Then something caught my eye and reminded me of a cache somewhere around Blenheim/on the way to Picton and straight away I had the cache in my hand.
