I always like a cache that is a bit different from a bison hanging in a tree or a San Fran special on a bench, so this cache had caught my eye. We didn't get down to it at the weekend, so today on my way home, I came and parked by the lake and had a nice walk to gz. It was nice and quiet so I removed the puzzle and went to sit under a tree in the shade by the edge of the lake. I had an idea of what the code would be, but one of the "things" was a bit reluctant to turn. I think it might be that the entire puzzle wasn't locked properly to start with because once I replaced the log I got it shut tighter and they all moved easily.Anyway, as I sat there I drew quite a crowd of spectators, 2 of which seemed eager to help me even though I had already opened it up. It turns out they weren't there to help they wanted feeding!A favourite point for a good initial hide (that pipe looks like it should be there) and for the entertainment value and making me use my brain a little bit.
Visiting Taupo this weekend to see some friends whove just built a holiday home. After cycling I to town for lunch, the others headed to the shops, and I split off to do some caching.I spotted this pretty quickly and to my surprise got it open on the first try. Thanks for the cache! FP from me.
Found by Blenheim Bear . On a weekend rehearsal with the National Male Choir and has some free time, so picking up new caches in the area. Thanks for the cache all good today. Blenheim Bear
#4241 Today is day 38 of my geocaching vacation in New Zealand. Today, I spent some time in Napier before heading to Taupo.Found it! Easy to find and easy to open. Love this type of gadget cache. FP given!I think the mechanism was a bit broken. After I opened it, I realized I didn't even get the correct word. There was a rubber dino stuck at the bottom, so I might not have been closed properly. However, after I repositioned the dino, it still would open with a gentle pull without the correct word. The CO may want to check on it.GeoGeoKiwi, thank you for the cache! -crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan on November 7, 2024 @ 19:20:58[GC9KCP4] Hide and Look was a D1.5/T1.0 Small Traditional Cache at the time of finding.
Very clever and exciting find. Thanks so very much. Made my kids day. Amazing.
What a great cache on Mrs Beconazes birthday. Located it really quick and knew the word it would require. A favorite point from us due to the significant effort here.
Visiting Taupo from Auckland for the Kinloch offroad marathon. Lovely walk along here on Sunday after the marathon. Great cache, lovely construction, well done. TFTC
What a cool cache! We're in Taupo for the weekend for my 40th and thought we'd get a few caches today, this one was first up. Easy locating it and we went to a nearby table to figure out the puzzle, we luckily got it on the first try! Thanks for the effort gone in here, fav point from me
In Taupo for a work conference. Had some spare time between last session and dinner. So I took the walk down the waterfront and found the cache. A little annoyed that this is a puzzle case not a traditional cache. As I didnt really have time to guess the code. But did solve it very quickly. Gets a favourite point for me
Came here first thing on our last morning in Taupo and grabbed this cool cache and I was really glad we did. It was a very cool morning with the thermometer in the Suzuki reading 4 degrees. I had almost all of my clothes on and was still chilly, but we cracked the cryptex in three words and soon had the logbook in hand. Now off to breakfast and you know what I think we will eat in as its way too cold outside or in the car right now!TFTC and have a favourite point for this cleverly constructed cache.
Found en route from Wellington to Rotorua. Fantastic idea and execution. Well done! TFTC
Find 9000!!! I was getting close to the milestone and I didn't have a cache picked out to find, having to come to taupo I selected this one based on the fav points, great hide I had already guessed what word I needed and thankfully it was correct, seen a runners bottles stashed for tomorrow's marathon. Then went and made my 9000 out of stones to mark the find. Bring on the next milestone and adding an easy fav point
TFTC Ive never seen this type of container Thanks for bringing me to this beautiful lake
Today, Macfam41 are traveling back to Waikanae Beach after an overnight stay in Taupo. One of two caches found today. Nice hide & unique container. TFTC. Took the trackable & will release on our travels.
Its the last morning of our Taupo holiday so thought wed head out for an early stroll and collect this cache being its so popular. Well it didnt disappoint. Thanks for your effort in creating it. Gets a favourite point from us.Ps log book is missing but I have a photo as proof of find if needed.
Best find so far. A bit of a puzzle makes it more fun. Although missing a bit of paper/book to write names and date in ??
Great geocache and well placed - would have been great to have a hint. Only found it as someone who knew where it was rode straight to it.
Kenneth the dog left some dog treats for the next human with dog that finds it.
On my way to stay with cousin in Tokoroa so thought I would swing by and see what all the hearts were all about. Did not disappoint. Thanks for the smiley on this nippy day. Stunning little spot!
Quick stop in Taupo as I pass through on my way to Tauranga. Great field puzzle. Since I have been Geocaching for a long time, I somehow got the code on the first try. TFTC.

Oops i didnt realise i still had this logged as a draft sorry. I had a day off work and decided to drive to Taupo for a spot of geocaching. As a reader of dan browns divinchi code i just had to do this one. I loved it. I rhink this has to be my most favourite cache ever. It was very windy and cold sitting under the tree trying to suss this one out. It helped when i twigged your meant to line up the red lines and not the words. Face palm! The voodo tramp, Marks frog, Team Datt and going caching 2017 visited this cache.
On out way to Tauranga today. When reeding about the cache description I we immediately had an idea about the code word and finding an cryptix container was even more intriguing so this was our first stop. Amazing craftsmanship and gets a fav. Thanks for bringing us here. #2296 - Mar 11, 2024TFTC opted-out user

Jela jsem okolo u 2x a desne me to tvalo. Oehlo mi to cel oblicej. After catching a nearby challenge, I went here to the lake viewpoint, enjoyed the view and found this cache. The solution to the puzzle was easy, so after a while I opened the crypt and was able to write down. Thanks for the nice cache and I'm sending you a favorite. Greetings from the Czech Republic.
