Another quick find while visiting Altona area and finding some that I had missed during other visits. TFTC
Had a caching day with Jascat. Took our bikes on the train and headed north to Newport. From there we made our way to the Newport Lakes Reserve, then to the foreshore. This cache was found quite quickly however had trouble returning the cache into its position. Seems the magnet is losing its attraction. TFTC
*12 Oct 2024, Found @4:49PM, Find # 3958.*A nice day to take the bike on the train and head across to the otherside of the city. A nice quick find despite the number of muggles out enjoying the nice weather. Our last one for the day as we had to get back on the train. Such a beautiful spot to explore I definitely will be back.**Thanks to tackle_head for placing this cache.**
The tide was on our side for us to explore the sea wall. Nicely hidden nearly missed, but for a brief flash. TFTC
A quick sit and a quick find, a great view, love it Yesterday afternoon i realized that i had a clear day where i could sneak off for a cache or two today. I wasnt feeling a long day in the car so decided to head to Melb on the train. After starting the day at an event and cito in Newmarket i headed for Seaholme and Altona to find caches along the shore. The worst thing about living inland is that i miss the sea so this jaunt will satisfy at least two desires. If i finish the caches along here then i will take the train and get off at various stations to get some nearby ones until i head home. Seaholme Reef is find number 3,755 for me. A fun micro sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Hobsons Bay City. I am logging this one on Tuesday 27 Aug 2024 at 3:42 pm and the weather is Overcast Clouds 20C 50% 11 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy tackle_head.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
I journeyed from Melbourne's CBD to this region for a power trail walk. The weather was pleasant in the morning, but it transitioned into a rainy day around noon. It was a rewarding geocaching excursion that allowed me to appreciate the natural surroundings and rural landscapes immensely.58th cache of today, Nice hide. TFTC
Looking out towards the reef at low tide, I wonder how many boats have gone unto the reef anyway a great area for caching.Greytiger
Check the GC and replace the log as required. Is in place and ready to be found
Dropped of my brother before going for this one. Hidden similarly to the others so far, I found it with ease. The Twain is getting heavier tho.TFTC
Needing a walk coupled with the weather being decidedly autumnal meant that the Altona esplanade would be a perfect place to gain some exercise whilst finding caches with few muggles about making the finding much, much easier than compared to spring or summer. All caches bar one (there's always one) were found with much in the way of difficulty. I even turned a couple blue faces into yellow smileys. Many thanks to tackle_head for putting these out and almost as importantly diligently maintaining/replacing them as the need arises.I'm glad that Altona counts the CO as one of its residents otherwise I might not have reason to walk along its esplanade and areas which are being rehabilitated by its council/residents.My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. ---A quick find on the way to the previous cache.
Out on trusty treadles AKA the MTB for a taste of sea salt and a dose of ozone on this rather lovely autumn day. Arrived in Melbs earlier from home base which is at higher altitudes for the convivial Vic Awards nominations EVENT. Always seeking nature where it can be found in the burbs and am impressed with the parks and gardens and trails and seeing so many people out enjoying the fresh air. TFTC and the FUN.
Found during the Victorian COTY Awards nomination event. tackle_head, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
It was a little bit easier than expected because we had one like it earlier
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. Day 2 of our bike riding and today our tour guide took us to Altona along the beach trails.A beautiful day to be out riding along here. Thanks for showing us the sights.
With a lovely mid-week day forecast, what better to do than go caching. This was a nice quick find without any muggles in sight to slow me down.My thanks to tackle_head for the cache.
On a hot day like today it was a pretty quiet spot compared to the ones closer to town centre, had to give a couple of earlier caches a miss. TFTC Ive enjoyed the bike ride but will be back on a quiet cooler day where its not so people-y. Have moved to the western suburbs a year ago and Im impressed with the bike paths around here.
Out trying to get some smiles on xmas day especially after first turned into a frownThanks for the cache
I found this cache today on my Mega Geocaching Walk #7 - A 29,000 step walk from Seaholme, Altona Coastal Park, Cherry Lake, Altona and Westona. A walk to the coast and into the full wind, which would be more on than off throughout the day. Found the cache type that I would see a lot of during this walk. Thanks from D B-A
Out for a day of catching up and caching up with AndyB84. A beautiful day for it, sunshine and water views. A lot of people out and about today.
A quick find here, thanks.

Now that the Twelve Days Of Cachemas and the celebratory lunch are done, and I should be able to finish the Streak Challenge tomorrow... so at last, I'm free to cache as much as I please.
So why not a drive around part of the esplanade?
Thanks, tackle_head.
Another quick find.

Another nice spot thanks Tackle head. Found with Jimmytherat on a stroll along the waters edge. Reef covered in birds today!
Back in Melbourne
Rain sun wind and plans changed a million times..
But as the saying goes foul me once shame on me, foul me twice shame on you, foul me a million times - it’s the bureau of meteorology!
So discarding the notion it may rain, spiffy- and I set off on a spur of the moment scooter caching trip out west.
Interesting to hear there is a reef here. The water is beautifully clear although I think I would need my steamer wetsuit to go in today - perhaps another time.
thanks for the placement tackle_head and story information

A plan was hatched today to go for a scooter ride this afternoon with Kristysadventures along the foreshore of Altona. It was nice and cold so we had gloves and wind jackets on but it was perfect because it kept all the muggles away from the beach and bike trails we needed to use.
Crazy amount of pelicans and seagulls just offshore here which was very cool.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Waited for elderly couple yo gather themselves and move (shuffle) on, but straightforward find, T4TC
Was a nice and sunny day for a change, So i decided to take the opportunity to go out and take the bike for a ride and cleanup some caching trails in altona, All caches were in good condition unless otherwise specified.
Thanks for all the cache owners for placing these caches for me and others to enjoy!.

It is great to take a day off during the week. The weather was gorgeous and it wasn't busy. We wandered along the foreshore grabbing caches along the way.
A quick find. TFTC.

Made light work of this one! A sore ankle make this a good cover!
Nice quick retrieval while out on a very pleasant Sunday arvo with BackPAQer. Thanks for the hide.
*The "Second February Bike Crawl in South West Melbourne" Adventure #13*
Nothing too difficult... yet.
No weirdos leaping out from the bushes to accost us... yet.
No dramatic change in the weather... yet.
The suspense is killing me.
Thanks heaps for the cache, Tackle Head!

Had our lunch break and are back on the bikes for more caching. Wind has picked up but the view of Melbourne from here is spectacular. Nice quick find
Just doing my last treasure finding run on this stretch of road before I head back home.
#20655. An extremely hot day forecast so we left the house at 7.07am by bicycles and headed towards Cherry Lake and Altona for me to collect some AdLabs and also some other caches as they appeared on the radar as we rode along the beach trails. A hot 28km ride and 4 hours spent in the saddle.
Another easy find here and then muggles took care of the next couple of stops. I was certainly amazed at the enormous number of boat trailers completely filling all the carparks that we passed after this.
Thanks tackle_head

The muggle who's been following me for the last few find looked like they were going to turn around and stop near the GZ, but they didn't thankfully
Not quite the Great Barrier.
But hey a little fun for some.
Little too chilly to be about today though snorkelling.

Finally back at work after being off for 8 weeks with my knee and my caching days came to a screaming halt.
Finally able to hobble around a bit so it was time to find a few new caches that had been placed down this way since I have been off.
The cool and windy weather must have have kept everybody inside as the beach was deserted this afternoon with only a few people out for a walk.
As soon as I approached this one I realised that it would probably be a familiar hide as I have already done a few along here.
Tide was in this afternoon and plenty of small waves lapping the beach.
Thanks tackle_head TFTC.

Had to come back to this one as there was a sign of a mugglehead. Thanks tacklehead
Another quick and easy cache not too far from Seaholme station, where I will go to get the train home. Love it.
Out with pinnacle333, we had a very long but enjoyable day caching in the Altona area. Quick find. Thanks tackle_head.
Nice quick find for us today!
