On my way to the blue mountains for a midweek caching trip. Only a few caches on the way. Then in the Mountains was all over the place between Lawson and Lithgow. Well last minute change after all those puzzles solved last night, I also had to detour via Portland.TFTC Wilbert67

I took a little detour into Portland along the way, and found some interesting caches. Publication of a new AL in Portland prompted me to make a day trip to the town where I spent my early childhood years, a long long time ago. I've been back many times over the years to see relos who lived there, but not in the last five years since the last of them passed away. Not much has really changed since I was last here, except for a lot more caches being placed ... yay!I'm old enough to remember when Portland actually had a railway station that trains stopped at, so it's a bit sad to not be able to spot anything of it these days. I had no trouble, however, in spotting this hide. Thanks for the hide and for the memories Brocafkids.

Headed out with a plan to clear all the Portland caches from my map. Unfortunately it was too hot to get them all done today but I had a good crack. We'll be back when it's not so hot to finish the missions. Quick find while we were doing one of the mulits. My stamp doesn't fit these logs and I didn't bring a pen. TFTC

Wow what timing. Found right as a northbound freight train came rolling through just as we were discussing if this branch line is ever used anymore.

Looked and looked but my eyes couldn't see it.

I was here today visiting family and we decided to do a spoop of the new Portland caches. I had already picked one up at Blaxland on the way through the mountains but it was a fine, sunny afternoon and Irondale and I decided to make hay while the sun shines.

We had this one straight away, making a quick find. TFTC Brocafkids. Been seeing your logs all over the place in my caching travels.

We are heading out for a day's caching in an interesting area. Had to pretend great interest in the pile of rocks until the lawn mower across the street went inside. TFTC

Out for the day to explore some familiar and some new places. Couldn't find any trace of the old station - a pity. Spent a while just looking until the lawn mower man went away and then quickly found it. TFTC
