Out finding some caches before a flight, TFTC

The hint "at the end of the garden" was the helpful clue. GPS was a bit off....TFTC.

Taking a leisurely drive home from the airport, I figured a Saturday afternoon would be good timing for a caching tour around this industrial estate. Easy parking near the GZ and lots of time to look around. Perhaps I got lucky but I spotted a good bit of camo fairly quickly. Good to get a find which could have been tricky on another day. Thanks G_2#5170Logged using Cachly.

No idea. Spent 15 mins searching lots of v's . When zero away nothing near other then small treeds. Nothing at end of any gardens.

Out of town on a caching mission with Kiwi Does Stuff, made a plan for the few days up in Auckland and hit the road. Quick find once at GZ, nice and quiet on the Easter weekend out these ways. TFTC!

In the area today for one cache in particular for our D/T grid, which was ticked off, now we were just picking up some loose unfound, or previously DNF'd caches.....Luckily it was outside of work hours , so parking for a few of these was much easier.....The cache was in good shape.TFTC.Razz

After yesterday being such a blustery day and not really making it appetising to go out and do anything, except a quick trip to Bunnings and Mitre 10, today was a gorgeous day by comparison. The sun was shining, the wind had died down quite a bit, and we needed something to do so that we were not stuck in the house all weekend. After our regular Sunday morning activity, we headed on out to the shopping centre by the airport as Mrs. Liver Bird wanted to pick something that she had told had arrived for her at one of the shops. After a lovely lunch in a nearby cafe, a plan was hatched to grab some of the caches in the area since it was industrial and deserted on a weekend. The afternoon was getting on and we had pretty much exhausted the caches in this area. So, this was going to be our last one for the day. Again, yellow dotted lines, but no place really to park this time. So, Mr. Kiwi jumped out and searched while Mrs. Liver Bird drove up and down the road. Luckily, the cache was easy to find and she didn't have to do this very often. Once the log was signed and the cache replaced, Mr. Kiwi crossed the road, hitched up his trouser leg and stuck his thumb out as a gorgeous lady drove down the road. His luck was in, she stopped and said, "I already have one of those". Driving off into the sunset, we were pleased with our little haul this afternoon.TFTC.

Needed to get our adventuring today. None of the family wanted to join so I just got in the car and started following the icons on the map! After stopping for a cold drink and a snack I started to venture out this way. Nice quick find here. Thanks for the cache.

A quick snag and tag here, no issues at all. TFTC G-2.Day one of our trip. RG72 and I spent part of an afternoon geocaching at Auckland airport. We walked about 7.7 km around the streets here, most of it on formed footpaths but a short distance on the verge of a busy open road. We got lots of strange looks from people who thought we were either lost, crazy or both - and one nice young lady stopped to check that we were actually ok. Righto, lets keep to formed paths then - we clearly look dodgy. All caches attempted were found and I popped some RITR strips in some as the logs were getting full. Thanks all.

Located with RNZ A bit of cheeky afternoon geocaching around the Auckland Airpoint district this afternoon. We are off to Aussie for 2.5 weeks & have our first night in Auckland so we thought we would go for a walk this afternoon to earn our dinner. We did however get a few strange looks from people who thought we were either lost, crazy or both - and one nice young lady stopped to check that we were actually ok. We were not in normal tourist locations & not dressed like construction workers, so we decided it was best to keep to formed paths - we clearly looked very out of place. I thought it was my baggy floral pants wowing people Another quick find for RNZ while I kept lookout for cars & pedestrians TFTC

Last time we came to look for this one the gardeners were doing a tidy up so we carried on driving. Tonight Daddypig went off road and parked up so that I could have a quick look. GPS was a bit off so the first thing I found was a dead rabbit. I thought about poking it with a stick but decided that not even this CO would use that kind of camo. Anyway before it started to rain again I shoved my phone back in my pocket and used the hint to narrow down where to look and walked straight to the cache.

I am out and about today with the main aim of a walk around Otuataua Stonefields Historic Reserve. With that completed I decided to collect some park and grabs before looking for somewhere to grab a late lunch. I managed to nab some close by parking next to the entrance of an earth works site. I made the short walk over to GZ and missed the hide on the first pass. After trying a couple of other places I got the find on the second pass. Right, definitely lunch time. Cheers for the cache placement!

We had a bit of time between dropping the teen for his flight and catching our own. We set the timer for 1 hour and headed off for a spot of caching. This was the last of 7 that we found, with a few extra we did not attempt as we could not find safe close parking. A nice quick find here

I much quicker find here than an earlier find this evening hidden like this... Good thing though since we were rather illegally parked here. Found with Jagersmum. TFTC!!!

We had a very early trip up to Auckland this morning to drop off passengers at the airport, then spent a few hours geocaching until the rain became quite heavy. Well, actually, we were caught out and became rather wet before we stopped, but that's another story!! Nice quick find here, TFTC Smile

Having spent the night nearby this was our first cache for the day. Glad we were here nice and early and with a bit of creative parking we pulled up near to GZ. Mr Geckoh was all over this cache quite quickly, thankfully, so we were gone before our creative parking could cause any issue. TFTC

After all the festivities of Christmas and new years, I decided to get some fresh air today while MrNZT has returned to work and I remain on holiday! Weather was a bit soggy and windy but it was nice to get out and about and find the newer caches in the airport surrounds.

This was my second to last cache, a nice round 10 finds today! The compass on my app didn't settle but finally found the cache. TFTC!

Our first team G0LD find on on way to the airport. We're off to Christchurch for a few days to collect lots of solved puzzles. We arrived early for our park and ride so we grabbed a few caches before heading over there.

I'm glad you decided to fill in some gaps out here for us travellers. This was an easy find, thanks Smile

Really didn’t understand the hint on this one, so we’re just going off the co ords. Took a while to locate this evening. Tftc

We weren't sure about the hint but eventually GPS had us in the right spot. No one about tonight so we can park nearby. Tftc

Crazy weather to be out caching today, with wild winds and heavy rain. But when you want your caching numbers boosted for a particular date there's nothing for it but to get out there and get it done!
The first stop of the afternoon, and the ground was absolutely sodden here. It took longer to spot the cache than I had hoped (should have read the hint first), but very pleased when I finally did. On my way back to the car someone stopped to ask if I was okay. Yep, crazy weather to go for a stroll! TFTC

A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache.

I'm in Auckland and I am exploring the region while I am based here. Today was a dry day, I borrowed by bro's bike and cruised around the place. I had a great time.

Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

02-Aug-22
Had several hours between flights and wanted some exercise before sitting on a plane for the next 12 hours. Being late evening the place was very quiet and muggles not an issue. Managed to find 12 out of 12 caches. Grateful for the specific hints as I only had my phone torch and street lamps to light the way. Quick find. Cache all fine. Thanks G-2 for the smiley.

25-Jul-22

A quick find at GZ, thanks for the hide G-2! Glad to have had the time to come for this cache today - I am managing to almost turn all the cache spots around here yellow (also a few blue unfortunately) before GAR finishes up and comes to pick me up.

Being Sunday of a long weekend of some new made up holiday, I figured this would be an ideal time to attempt these caches along here since it would be very quiet today. Nice quick find before heading off to the next one on my bicycle, TFTC

06-Jan-22
Time to get into this prolific CO's new hides so headed to this area to swoop up the low-hanging fruit. All good here but GPS was playing me up a little. I support AVFC (Aston Villa Football Club) so had a rye (sic) smile at the acronym frenzy.

An early start to head out and make a few finds today whilst mrs c is back to work for the morning. Started out on the awesome Mangere mountain and volcano which is my third visit there and has been a good walk each time. The weather came to play again with scorching hot temperatures. It was a big day for hitting the various caching trails and had around 17kms under my boots before i got home. A trip out to the poo ponds and Ambury Regional Park were also in scope and thanks to all COs for their caches and efforts towards my finds today.

As we approached GZ we saw a car parked very close by on double yellow lines and wondered if it was another geocacher but as we drove past and saw a foot out the window we realised it wasn't and instead was just someone who felt it was appropriate place to park and have a nap.
A very odd decision as their car took up a good portion of the road and if a large truck had come along there would have been no room for it to get through.
We pulled over in a more appropriate spot and Mrs Coblet jumped out to make the find.
Our presence must have woken the sleeping lunatic because as we drove away he was sitting up looking a bit bewildered with a "where am I and how did I get here?" look on his face.
Better to be woken by us than a truck so we considered it our good deed for the day and waved a friendly "you're welcome" as we passed by.

Thankfully it was all quiet here so we parked the car in the nearest spot off the road and headed over for a nice quick find.

This was the cache that gave us the most trouble on this adventure. We were V focussed on the description and we checked every V V carefully, but eventually I just lay down on the ground at the coords and there it was, for our last FTF of the outing. We had been out much longer than I’d anticipated as more caches had been published while we were hunting, so we had to jettison the new Ambury caches and head home for dinner. Perhaps if they’re still unfound later on... Thanks for the impromptu father-daughter adventure. V enjoyable!
