A milestone birthday for MrTG last month & the family booked a short labour weekend family getaway in Hokitika. It just happened to coincide with a monumental Spring weather event over the weekend. With Arthurs Pass shut with snow, we had to head north out of Christchurch and through the Lewis Pass to loop back around and down to Hokitika......in torrential rain. Fun driving, not much stopping!Heavy rain overnight but this morning wasn't tooooooo bad. Headed out for an adventure with the family, heading back from exploring the Brunner mine site so stopped for the find and sign, thanks.
I am heading down to the Mega, but there are so many places to stop along the way. This was one to keep my numbers ticking up. TFTC.
A nice quick find, very explicit hints. Thanks for placing your cache. It has been a while since we got back from Europe, and it is time for us to see more of Home. Ms_KR and I are off to the West Coast for a wee break, and some caching. Today cruied around the area picking up plastic boxes!Occaisionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Last of the day. Nothing to see here, oh except for this pretty plantain, and the cache, of course. Thank you Kiwimykl
Blends in really well, too a bit to locate. TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
#22966. Crossed the main road only to realise our destination was not the bus shelter we were looking for (being largely made of wood, I was thinking there wouldn't be many places to hide a magnetic cache). Then Troodles spotted the bus shelter we should have been searching, and it was back across the road. Quick find once at the proper GZ. Good to include a KM cache on our trip to the coast. TFTC.
This was the first cache of the day, and it showed. We parked just past the side road, then headed to the bus shelter. Hmm, why is my GPSr pointing over there to the side road? Maybe because we were fixated on the wrong bus shelter ?
Once in the right place, StreetWalkerNZ quickly tracked down the cache. Good to get on the score board for the day. TFTC.

Out on a ride from Greymouth to Kumara and return this morning.
Ride complete.
Now driving home, but first there's time for another three hours caching as I leave.
One would think that this find would be on my way out of town but no, it was a turnaround point so I could cross the bridge and go home via Blackball.
Glad for the hint. I missed it from inside and ended up on my hands and kness on the outside.

Made a sneaky find. After all, what can go wrong with a middle aged man hanging out in a school bus shelter in the middle of the afternoon?
It was right on three o'clock when I visited. Fortunately I made a quick find as I was aware school pupils might use this facility. TFTC .
Spending the winter woofing, tramping and exploring the west coast caching along the way ..of course..
Have a few days off before heading back to greymouth so a plan was hatched to do the st james walkway with a few but the weather wasn't looking to flash so everyone else cancelled...I decided to head in anyway for a couple of nights at least...

Hahaha. That will teach me to jump out of the motorhome without looking at the GPS. Found it when I looked at phone.TFTC
I initially pulled up at the bus stop over the road but the GPS pointed out the error of my ways. So I moved over to here and parked strategically in front to avoid being spotted by the houses opposite. I needn't have worried because the closest one had all the curtains pulled. Very nice gesture Kiwimykl which I'm sure is very much appreciated by the locals and those passing through like me as well. TFTC # 18,142
No need for a GPS here thank goodness, I left mine plugged into the car and my phone was taking its time waking up. Thanks for placing Kiwimykl

Just dwon the road from some friends that we stopped to say hello to, it's their shelter their kids use actually. Cheers
FTF with Hazedarus.
We were in Nelson when this cache was published so couldn't do anything about it then but it was a priority when we returned to the Coast today.
Conveniently the only shade was in front of the structure so that's where we parked which also gave excellent cover while grabbing the cache and signing the pristine log.
The local cachers are always happy if visitors leave a cache for us to find and happy you enjoyed our efforts.
Thank you Kiwimykl for this placement.

FTF With holymu. After the New Year's event we were informed that something was up in the form of a caching surprise. It was published when we were out of town but prioritised for the first possible opportunity. Strategic parking and the D/T rating never put the cache at risk. A QEF. Thank you Kiwimykl
A nice easy park and grab.
This is JDScouts final long summer holiday in the camper. We're on a tour of the West Coast and geocaching is one of the things on our agenda.
Thanks for hiding this cache Kiwimykl I appreciate it.
