Out and about caching with fitzy_1965.Today we targeted this group of Tankengine caches. It was a nice wander along the railway except for the blackberries! So many blackberries!Wow, an easy find here.
Found with minniek during another beautiful walk in Canberra.After a bit of a sleep in (oops we missed the event) we decided to keep to the rest of our original plans and drive in to Canberra for a walk through the bush and along a railway line. The last time I went out around this loop was March 2009 ! Parking at the Paintball place we headed off along the paths until we hit the railway line, which we then followed for all today's caches. This cache was a nice easy one (to settle our geocaching nerves perhaps?). Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next one on our list.Thanks Tankengine for all nine caches today !!
Found on my walk on these old train tracks after tracking down some ftfs. Another great cache along this walk! Thank you Tankengine!
On my way back from my multi cache adventure, I grabbed this geocache. I've decided to give this one my only fave point, as it was everything that I want in a geocache after sunset Thanks for another great cache, Tankengine!
A cool but sunny walk along the border track. A number of muggles on bikes and walking dogs also about, enjoying a breath of fresh crisp air. Cache found without issue, signed and replaced as found. TNLNSL TFTC
Out with dty73 and Tankengine for a walk out along the tracks, to do a little cache maintenance, find some unfound ones and place a few as well. It was a beautiful day to be out and loved the paraphernalia spotted as we walked along the rails. I was with the CO when this cache was placed, well overdue but logging now. Thanks for the cache Tankengine! So much to see along the tracks, these signs make a great easy cache to stop at, it's a great walk along the rails.
I had somehow ,managed to arrange to go for another walk this morning, so I collected Fitzy_1965 in Civic and we headed to the car park at the base of the Old Tuggeranong road. A little bit worried about the lasting impact of Saturdays epic hike, we headed up the trail from the cache on the highway to the railway line, and then headed along to the currently southern most cache I had not completed and then returned to the car for two other southern district caches before heading home for a break until it was time for the group assault on the Woden Flood memorial multi that needs a really long tool. It was a fun day and the walk just manageable.
I am happy some of the railway infrastructure has survived and having a cache here is a real bonus.

A lovely day to be out caching. I targeted this cluster of newish caches along the old railway line by foot. Cache soon found, however half of it was missing along with the log. I crossed paths with 3 other people on the trackes this morning - surprisingly busy. TFTC.

Going for a walk of the railway line today and figured some caching was in order. TFTC
It was getting a bit warm by the time the cache pup and I arrived here. Another secure container, plenty more of these strong spots around btw. Tftc TE. PS the rail line has fallen from the sleepers just past this GZ.

A short morning walk along the railway line for a few nice easy finds. TFTC.
After a busy morning caching to the west of Canberra, I popped over for an afternoon walk along this section of railway line, which again is absolutely screaming out to be made into a rail trail - in fact the southern bit of this line, north from Bombala, has been surveyed for exactly that purpose this week! 
Unlike the portion near Hume, which is quite overgrown, this section to the southeast of Tuggeranong Siding is relatively clear and quite easy to walk along, although the ballast reflects the heat into your face even on a mild day. A very pleasant 8.73km return walk in just a shade under two hours.
A fast-finishing, be-on-me-next-time, second-to-find here. This cache was a straightforward find in an obvious spot - thanks, Tankengine, and a favourite here on behalf of the series.

All caches were quick finds which was good as we could spend more time enjoying the lush green views. A lovely change from how we had remembered it in the past during the drought.
While also enjoying the iconic Aussie landscape there were the historic rail structures to observe, not forgetting the wild blackberries to consume most of the way back to the car. Fortunately, unlike sections of the rail line around Fyshwick way, the blackberries are not yet taking over the tracks on this stretch of the rail line. In total we walked 7kms with just 131m ascent/descent under 2 hours.
A favourite point on Tuggeranong T-Track for the three caches found in this group, for the reasons mentioned above. TFTC Tankengine.
