The Kings Birthday long weekend caching trip to Stanley is now in the third day. Today we found cache whilst heading east towards Launceston and home. Another early start for us today and we found this cache at 10:50. Thanks NickandAbb for placing Cache with a view for us to find today. This brings my find count to 4946.
Great day out exploring Burnie, didnt know they had so many hidden nice parks. 13 Finds, 1 DNF made a great afternoon out on a cold winter day.Took me a little while was focusing on the wrong area. Great viewThanks for the hide
TFTC. Great information boards and fabulous views. Thanks for bringing us here. Added a FP
Tasmania Trip Day 3. I was really happy to make the overnight crossing to Tasmania without any issues at all. The slight rolling did not even tip me out of bed. Getting up in time to disembark around 5.45 am was the only challenge, but I did get to visit two caches in the dark before breakfast. I spent quite a bit of the morning caching around Devonport and along he waterfront before circling out a bit to find the four counties on offer before I started along to Burnie, which was a lot closer than I realised. I visited a few interesting locations and then got set up at my accommodation in Burnie. It is supposed to be a heat wave, but it seems pretty cool here to me.After settling in at my accommodation up the road, I felt I should do something before sitting down at the bar. The view out from here is certainly impressive. I did the Labs and this cache before heading back. Thanks for the cache NickandAbb45827.33 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2011 Snowflake A#216**Albida**
#2715 This is my day 257, and the longest physical cache find streak so far. I want to see how far I go. I am on a family vacation in Australia, and Tasmania road trip is our main highlight. Found this cache before leaving Burnie. Very nice view this morning. Thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan @ February 16, 2024 11:17:05
With a wet morning ahead we decided to head into Burnie. We didnt find it to be very tourist friendly with the expensive car parking everywhere. We went to the library, did some shopping and had lunch at the brewery. Paid for parking for the first time in our 12 week trip . If you were on a cruise ship you get a free shuttle bus, go figure .Great spot to get a good view over the city. TFTC
Thanks for the cache NickandAbb,After checking out shops and sights in downtown Burnie this morning we decided to head to Guide Falls.Noticed the sign to the lookout, so instead of driving past, we deviated in to have a look - not been here before.I wasn't until we were reading the groovy info boards that I thought there ought to be a cache here, checked my phone, and yes, there's both a cache, and an Al Lab.A few muggles about, including one sitting quite close to GZ, so chose to do the Ad Lab first - causes less attention!Great Ad Lab, short and sweet but informative.Suddenly there more more muggles, but that allowed us 'cover' and Mrs EPs moved in, spotted, and grabbed the cache.Signed and replaced easily as the seated muggle had moved away - in fact, we sat on the seat for signing.Great spot for a cache.Cheers, EPs
Came up to the lookout to see the new Virgin cruise boat leave port (Resilient Lady). Thanks for the hide. We are number 26 out of 37 on the logbook.
What a fabulous view!! Weve been in this area for basketball so many times but never realised that just at the other side of the carpark this awesome area is here!! Spent a bit of time admiring the view and pointing out and discussing landmarks with Mr 12. Our coords were slightly out today but just had to retrace a few footsteps. TFTC Found with LittleBoo17
tftc great hidden lookout (well we didn't know it was here) but plenty of muggles to dodge and it was tricky to be subtle due to the micro nature and trying to roll it up tight enough
Great view and great cache! Thanks so much.
A nice walk on a coolish afternoon giving us a new view of Burnie.

Found it.. however, the anxiety of fitting it back in, outweighed my desire to sign the log.. the tiniest Ive found so far!
Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
After flying in last night, today sees an ambitious schedule with plans to cache all the way to Ulverstone for the CITO and event, and then on to Stanley.
A great view from up here and a nice quick find. A favourite point is coming your way for the location!
Thanks NickandAbb for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

What a cracker of a cache! Thanks for the fun, did spend about 10 minutes trying to close cache back up. But a nice spot to sit and deal with this frustration, after a first failed attempt due to too many people today we had a more quiet day, cache is nestled safely away ready for the next find. Thanks for the fun.
OzHockeyChick shouted me a return flight to Launceston for my birthday. So grateful for this awesome gift and so very pleased to have her with me to celebrate.
We got diverted to Hobart which definitely wasn't part of our tight schedule. Once we got back to Launceston, we hit the ground running and continued that way for the whole weekend.
It certainly does. OHC made a quick find whilst I was taking in the view, oops.

A 'Thelma & Louise' style weekend away with Geoturtle37, to celebrate her recent milestone birthday. We are flying in to Launceston on Friday afternoon, returning to Melbourne on Sunday evening. Our carefully planned itinerary includes selected LGAs, placement dates, DTs and high faves. If we manage to find them all, we can expect 186 smilies in total.
Once we realised we weren’t going to complete the geoart, we decided to visit Burnie instead. This was on our “Only if we have time” list. Great views!!
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, NickandAbb

Success ! After a DNF just after Xmas this time we found the little blighter at home. Got it signed and replaced just as a mini bus full of cruise ship passengers turned up. Thanks for a cache in a great place. Always worth a visit if passing by.
Just as I sign the cache, a million muggles appear! Stealth mode activated, cache back in place! TFTC
Found this one while visiting Burnie today.
While up here doing waypoints for an Adventure Lab we grabbed this one.

Found with gridge98, icybeetas and nettieknows on our last day in Stanley. TFTC
This has been a very relaxed and surprisingly warm trip to Tassie, weaving our way around new and favourite places. We enjoyed a diversion from the main tracks to enjoy this spectacular view and cache on such a calm day.
Thank you for the cache.
Thank you for the cache.
1st visit ended up being a 'just keep on walking' moment due to muggles enjoying the view. I slipped out of sight to see if they were waiting for me to away from gz, but no...they were in for a sit, chat and view the scenery. 2nd walk for the day and was able to grab quickly between an L plater motorbike rider practising laps in the area. Have loved this place since the early 70s when we moved here from the country. Every year, the view changes. TFTC
Caching our way to Stanley to stay for a few days with gridge98 and Courtneyrose_. Great stop with amazing views. TFTC
A nice short detour to come and check out this beautiful view over town. A lab cache too.
Today Courtneyrose_, nettieknows and I made our way to Stanley for a few days away. Along the way stopped by a few caches of course and too check out the area.
Thanks for the cache

This is another dnf. Had a red hot look 'cos we were doing the Ad Lab as well. Examined all magnetic structures radiating out from GZ. No luck !
