Hey this might take a couple weekends to replace because of the weather at the moment, sorry about this, Keep Caching Everyone
Walking to the market this morning and stopped to look for this cache again. Council have been through and done a tidy up of the trees (aka shredding the tops off them) and the stump host has been removed from the ground and shifted Had a look around GZ but no luck finding the cache
This area has been extensively landscaped and changed. It's a very popular walking track so can it please be updated.
This is about 6th time i have been here. Yes the grass has grown around it but there is still a geo trail to it . I stood facing the river ! got down on my benders and SEARCHED and SEARCHED with everything being dry this time i spent longer than previously and all but swept the ground clean around and under the stump . Is it still here ! has not been found since april 23 by Phron.. and Suep etc
The long grass has really grown now making it harder to search. No luck for us today.
I visited this site six times in total. some times when the ground was wet and others when it was dry around the area but i still had no luck but after contact with the cache owner i have his permission to log this cache before it is withdrawn . I know exactly what the cache actually looked liked and so each time i was so sure i would find it using the straight forward hint . I even enterained the idea of purchasing a small plastic clawed back scratch-er and raking the area under the big stump . but that now seems unnecessary so it is with great relief that i now have permission to log this "brute" . so thank you very much for this gesture Much appreciated .
Forgot to log this earlier while out and about with JB and Phronimos. Certainly remember the cache - in fact 2 of them, the old and the new. Extra value !. TFTC
Went for a short bike ride this afternoon and picked up a few caches along the way. I vaguely recall having a quick look for this one some time ago without success. Thought we’d give it another go today, although we weren’t expecting it to be particularly easy. On this occasion we were wrong. I spotted it within 30 seconds. It wasn’t particularly well hidden at all, very likely as a result of geo-creep! After signing the log I hid it mere centimetres away but somewhat ‘better’, much more in keeping with a difficulty rating of 3.5. My apology to the next searcher! #6342. TFTC.
Out for a ride and remembered this is one of the few that I'd not found so far, attempt two ended up being much easier than the first and found no problems. Tftc!
Had an AL just close so went and found this Out and about with P &S great to be down from NP to come to PN TFTC
It's more like halfway but it's all good. Last time we were in PN we were looking down on this area from the top. So pretty from above as well as down here. Thanks mynameusJett
After my initial search for FTF and at least two subsequent searches I had this cache on my 'Ignore' list. But today I'm chauffeuring Juty Bug & sueparr2 around Manawatu to spin up a few Adventure Labs including one here. So they decided we had to try this one too. And WDYK? we found not one, but two caches here. Signed both logs.

It took a couple of rounds of stumpy, but we got there in the end. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I cruised around today, picking up the odd cache on our journey around Palmerston North. The weather was good most of the day, and the traffic was OK too.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

During a recent trip to Palmy over Easter, went on a mission with RRex03.
Now back in Rotorua, I can log the caches… TFTC

The cache was absolutely covered in mud so cleaned out and put water proof paper inside. Good hiding spot though. I would think the difficulty should be a 2 - 3.
Thanks mynameusJett for the Traditional cache! I replaced the cache back to its original spot.

So nice to find this today, such a lovely day to be out walking the bridal track beside the Manawatu river. Have looked for this one off and on a few times but today struck green gold. Signed and replaced as found. Thanks for bringing me to the mighty stump.
As we were passing getting a few other caches along the track, we had a pretty good idea where this one would be, had a spare container on us, so replaced. Hope this is ok.
What a cool stumpy. Nice morning for a walk. Great to have such a good walking area. Tftc
Hey sorry everyone I don't think I can check on this one any time soon because I think it'll be a bit to risky but when the flood waters go down I'll switch containers and report to you
woolwood9 & I had fun traveling from cache to cache on a very nice sunny day.
No find for us here!
No find for us here!
Muggles were too close on the ride east so I skipped this. All clear on the way back and after a short look I decided this was going to take too long to find a micro here. So I left again.
Out to find some caches with 2wombles. Been here three or four times before with out any luck. This time it was a very quick find. Thanks mynameusJett for the cache.
I in Palmy as a stop over to The Geocaching Event Of The Year - Rattll's Christmas barbecue. This time is was not at Rattll's place, but in a park outside Wanganui. Still the most awesome event this year though. But that was later.
This morning I slipped out of the house unnoticed as everyone was asleep and went for some early morning caching along the river. I parked near the bridge and went for a walk.
Ah, yes. *This* cache. I have been here before. twice, actually. The first time was a DNF after spending quite some time here. I didn't log a DNF (that's odd - I wonder why I didn't?) so I don't know how long ago it was. I came back later with a friend and we found the cache, but I still didn't log it. I am guessing that would be because I was working a streak, and every additional cache found is possibly a problem later on. I am still working the streak, but I am in wind down now, so no problems with additional finds.
To wit, where is the little blighter? I had to lie on my belly in the early morning dew with my head almost under the stump to find it. Now my shirt is wet down its front, but I am happy I don't care! (and it will dry in no time in this weather!)

Hey sorry to all those that can't find this cache I will check on it this weekend and place it in a easyer place on the stump.

Mid arvo on a Saturday was probably not the best time to search but despite the ample time spent looking, wasn't able to snag it today.
i have had so much advice about this cache and its where abouts and each time i have visited it i have really searched but i still can not locate it , despite even knowing exactly what i am looking for down on my hands and knees !
What an awesome looking stump! As soon as we showed up I knew it was going to be a hard find. Miss 5 happily helped out in the search. We can't have been very discreet as a couple walked past and the man smiled and asked if we were geocaching! Clearly I need to learn how to be more discreet! After reading past logs we'll definitely be back for a 2nd attempt!
Found after rolling around in early morning wet grass. Nice to knock old stumpy on the head even if it meant getting a little wet.

Only in town for a day so gave this 15min with no luck! Clearly a great hide looking at past logs.
Thanks
Thanks
Thanks mynameusJett for hiding such a tricky cache in this location.
Clearly deserves it's 3.5 Difficulty rating as so easy to miss it.
I walked here in the rain with umbrella and gumboots, hoping not to be disturbed as I circled and recircled trying nooks and crannies ...eventually found without a muggle in sight.
Signed the cute little scroll and returned as found.

After hours of looking for this cache I came on a sunny day and I found it only had sharpie nice to now see a happy face here now going to check my caches that might have been muggled

Good to turn this previous DNF into a yellow smiley. Took a full circuit of the host and ended up back trackside and made the find as per hint. Cut myself on some glass in the stump, take care all. TG, if you're watching I'll send a pic I took of 'where'. Followed up this with 2 new DNFs along the track.
After a lack of caching during this month of rubbish weather has led to me getting on with a couple of jobs at home, yet still hankering to discover hidden items in the Manawatu and surrounds. I settled on a trip to Palmy and my tentative hopes of crossing the Fitzherbert bridge never came to fruition. I managed to avenge a couple of previous DNFs, repeat one, and have new ones! Hmmmmmmm. Anyhow a modest yield of 13 caches was all good and bumped into Tawa/Paraparaumu cachers Tbird53 at one GZ, nice to meet them and their dog. Just about 10kms walked alongside the Manawatu river and other areas on a cold day, thanks to all COs.

With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south. All good things must come to an end. So begins the very long trek home…
An Adventure Lab brought us down here - a tricky question to boot... We moved onto this hide, and it was challenging! There was nothing for it but to mount a grid search of sorts. That was cunning! Thanks mynameusJett and TFTC.

FapnGap and Squirel Nutcase and I have come away for the long weekend caching. Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache.
finally found it after almost 5 attempts and I couldn't be happier! bloody hard to find if u don't know what ur looking for but the amusement was worth it!
After a busy day yesterday, I was hoping for a much more chilled Sunday. What better way than to jump in the car and head off up to Palmy to catch up with friends and maybe grab a cache or 5 along the way
I had been here a couple of weeks ago, and had failed a second time to locate the cache. Seeing that [@Etherlord Clan](http://coord.info/PR5Y6HZ) had found it, I knew it had to be there so I came today to have another crack at it.
This time I was able to find it in just a few minutes, which I suspect means that it has now been hidden much more in line with it's D rating. Nice to avenge a previous DNF
Thank you for bringing me back here again today.

Etherlord must have super powers! Checked 4 times with 2 people and still can’t find it but now we know it’s there
The EtherClan moved to a new Castle last weekend, and I'm needing to get out of the house to take a break from the sight of cardboard boxes.
[@Mart0r](http://coord.info/PR1272GD) and his family came for dinner last night and somehow left some of his minions behind, so they returned this morning to collect them...
They were discussing a family hike, which seemed like an excellent way for me to get out of the house (with my minions).
We parked at the "new" bridge and walked along the riverbank towards this cache to remedy my DnF.
With a 4YO, 5YO, 7YO, 10YO, and 3x 12YOs, this proved to be an exercise in patience (least it become an exercise in patients), but we finally arrived at GZ as the kids ran off to the nearby hammocks.
Even with a pair of photographic pointers provided by another geocacher, it still took me 10min to locate the container and sign the log.
I'm pleased to be able to turn this blue sad face on my map into a happy yellow!

Today I went for a bike ride and found a couple of geocaches but unfortunately not here
Quite a few experienced searchers couldn't find this one.
I'll put it on my watch list as it's a great spot.

AS there was a note that this was definitely in place we searched for a really long time. Still have to log a DNF to our immense disappointment.
Still a DNF from us. The hound tried to help out but no joy! Maybe make the hint different if the cache is there….
Sorry I don't know why you guys can't find this cache cause I just replaced and put it in the stump at the bottom so hopefully it doesn't get disabled
You can add my name to the growing list of DNFs. This one need checking, and either confirming it is there, or replacing if not, or archiving.
I headed over to look for this one. Read a few recent logs and decided it was not worth the bother. It might be there but plenty of experienced cachers have failed so it clearly needs CO attention to confirm whether its still there or not.

#13,345. After our DNF in March, we returned to have another search here in Hokowhitu, Palmerston North, noting that the cache owner had replaced it recently in April. And search we did … Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Took quite a bit of systematic grid search for this one. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice and dry inside. Happy to be first to find the replaced cache. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Replaced as found.
Thanks for the challenging placement, and for bringing us back to this site, and …

We were in the area recently but didn't look for the cache as obviously it was missing. Seeing that it had been replaced, we decided to look today, but were unable to find anything. We found a wee pile of rocks nearish to the stump, but no cache.
Hey replaced cache because it was missing hopefully it doesn't go walking again.
Hey guys I will go have a check in a few days to see of it's still there but you can still try find it of you want.
Add me to the list of DnFs
Given the number of people who have not found it, a check by the CO is likely required…

Looked for ages but no sign of it. Looks like we're not the only ones struggling to find it.
We searched for some time I was with a friend who was determined to make a find today but we still came away empty handed very sadly. maybe next week if i get my bike back that is,
No joy for us today! Lovely time for a bike ride right before a big storm thanks anyway
This was a tricky little find. Yhis was my second attempt at finding this one. Finally got lucky, signed yhe log and got the smiley. Tftc
Headed out for a walk and thought good time to grab some caches while on my travels, thanks for the placement. - have sent photos to the Co as I don't think it was where it should be
Visiting Palmerston North to see my nephew. Parked up and got on the bike to cycle this great walkway. No problem finding the stump but took abut longer to find the cache. Thanks for the new caches and the smiley.
We are visiting Palmy today for a biking/geocaching jaunt. Had half a day to spare and managed to find 9 caches, so pretty pleased with our effort. Nice find here. Cache is all good. TFTC
Found while out on a bike ride with a friend. Lots of places to look here! We managed to locate it before doing a complete circuit. Like the nifty container, thanks mynameusjett.
It took a while to find this one.
Nice location and fairly quiet today because of the weather.
Thanks.
Nice location and fairly quiet today because of the weather.
Thanks.
It was good to get out of the house and go for a walk and a bit of exploring down by the river today. It was still windy but no rain. It was refreshing to be out.
We spotted the likely GZ when still a couple of hundred metres from the cache, but that was the easy part. The cache took a bit of searching for as there were many possible hiding spots and the place is quite exposed to anyone using the walkways. We were a little puzzled by what the full hint might mean and actually probably overthought it. Anyway the container was eventually located, the log signed and all tucked away again. TFTC

Deceptively simple. Could see the hiding spot from a mile off but had to spend a decent amount of time actually looking for the thing, all while attempting to stay out of the direct line of sight of passersby. Overall a good find, thanks for the cache:)
While riding along the Bridle Track checking all my geocaches I nipped off to the side to check out this new one.It was a fairly quick find here and I was very surprised to find an empty log sheet! So I wrote up the entry at the top as a {FTF}!!The time was 12:21pm.Thank you for placing this cache,I love the location and the hide!Gets a fave from me!
