Find#3039Feels like a while since I last went caching and with a few days away at Nelson Bay with my high school mates thought I would get away early and find some caches nearby. This was the first this morning. A nice easy but interesting multi to start the day. Now off to Hawks Nest before the fun begins Cache and log in good condition TFTC Team737
A beautiful little walk with the kids while we were waiting for the EV to charge. Cool piece of nature here.
We stayed over night at the nearby camper park.In the morning we made a little walk along the wetland trail and learned a lot about Australian trees. The coordinates we calculated we're fine but we searched about 20 minutes until we finally found this little camouflaged box.IN: Favoriten Point for the wildlife experience. Thanks a lot for this cache,Murkel,on tour with Muckel119. Last night Murkel and me stayed on a campground nearby. This morning we made a nice walk, found the answers and searched for a long time the really good camouflaged box .Thanks for the cache
Solved last night however it was way to dark to see the cache so we came back in the morning and nabbed it. +1 favourite point TFTC
Routine maintenance.... we arrived to find a fallen tree had nearly demolished the hide. The actual cache was fine. The cache was moved about 8m. Coords adjusted and description/hint/checksum edited.
Walked along t he boardwalk, collecting the info. Had coffee in the nearby Cafe and worked out the co.ords. returned and found cache thanks for a nice walk.
This one was pretty tricky at GZ - it took a while to find. When I looked from just the right angle, I spotted it. TFTC!
Took a stroll along the boardwalk with ilook4geo and gathered the necessary numbers. Went along to GZ, eliminated the unlikely options and soon made the find. The co-ordinates are good and the container blends nicely. Log was soon signed and we wandered back again. Thanks for this cache placement go to Team 737.
Walked carefully along the boardwalk and read the signs, with goingplaces2. Worked out where we we needed to be and once there made a quick find. Added 2 more names to the log and headed back. TFTC.
Staying in town while my wife has meetings in the area. Checked out caches in town, all one of them!?!
The information was easy to collect, the area was lovely but the poor boardwalk is in a sad state!?!
Off to GZ where it took an embarrassingly long time!

Day 10. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.
After stopping over night in Stockton, it was onwards bound towards Taree.
A nice little wander through this park gathering the info. One of the signs has taken a tumble but is still visible. Gathered the info and set about signing the log at the other end.
Thanks lee737 for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Stopping overnight in Karuah, I was delighted to find a cache nearby - and a multi too, excellent!
So I headed out early this morning, and enjoyed the boardwalk and gathered the clues. The boardwalk still has broken boards here and there, though nothing as bad as pictured in a previous log. Still, it made me a little nervous of the sections that had no new wood, and I walked closer to the centre line of nails just in case!
I solved the puzzle and the checksums assured me I had it right, so I set off for GZ. Initially I went too far into the trees, and my bouncing GPS meant it took way too long to realise. Once I did, I headed back out and over a bit before re-entering the search area.
Despite being out before 8am on a public holiday, there were a few muggles that passed by during my search. One man walked up the dirt road yelling LOLA repeatedly; presumably his dog had gone for a wander on her own! I was amazed that he didn't spot me standing very still just a few metres into the trees.
Soon after, I was looking all about when I happened to look down in front of me - and there it was. One of those caches that you could miss while standing right on top of it! I would suggest the "waist height" hint is a little off - I'm quite short and it was below waist height on me.
A wonderful way to start the day. Thanks!

Found with Crafty Dusty and the geopooches on our road trip North from Sydney. What a lovely little town! And this boardwalk cache was the icing on the cake for us. Pooch friendly, interesting and informative-and pretty! Fave from me. The cache at the end took us waaaay too long!
TFTC. Love it if only for the size of the pencil. But love the natty cache holder too. Ps Cabbage Tree Fern sign has fallen, thanks for tip about all signs.
Came through on the way home from a weekend away. Nice area. Haven't been to Karuah much and didn't even know they had wetlands until now. The workers doing environmental stuff didn't seem to mind me walking through. TFTC!!! #2072
Fascinating to explore this area which we didn’t know existed on a damp day and meet the mozzies. Great hiding place as usual. TFTC
Would never have known the board walk exists. Very informative. Nice hide of the cache - only took 10 mins to find once I had the final co-ords but could have taken a lot more given the dodgy GPS sending me all directions.
A quick check for the cache's 1st birthday, as we drove through north. All is well.....
Stopped off to get this cache on my way home after 3 weeks at Hawks Nest. Nice walk through the trees. Didn’t see any wildlife except for a butterfly. TFTC
Took the short peaceful walk to gather required information and headed off to GZ. A bouncing GPS made it tricky, but come up with joy in the end. TFTC
Well I've been coming here for years and didn't know this board walk was here. It could do with a bit of repair work but it is a nice short walk anyhow. Very good cache container, thanks for the cache.
On our way home from a day ay Hawks Nest/Winda Woppa. Geoian decided we would stop for this multi. Enjoyed the walk and reading about the trees. Some broken planks along the walkway. Saw an echidna a highlight. TFTC
After spending the day at our traditional Family Boxing Day gathering at Hawkes Nest, we stopped here on our way home, to grab this cache. Have not been through here since the bypass, and its like a ghost town, though i note there are new estates going in, so there is some life left in Karuah yet. We got the first answer easy enough, although the sign could do with a good clean. We misssed the second one, and had walked most of the way when Madrabbitoh mentioned that these others we were reading were after the second one. So we back tracked answering ones that we came across. Soon had the second one. And then soon had the gz, with correct checksums. Walk the board walk again, being careful not to fall down the many holes in the planks. Looks like some maintenance has been done, but still more needs doing. Something to note, was the sighting of an Echidna, trundling along, minding his own business, took a moment to check us out, and then off again, under the board walk he went. Took several moments of searching to spot the hide. I had done a prelim of the area, with Madrabbitoh backing it up, and i soon heard the inevitable, "Found it". Thanks for bringing us here today. TFTC.
Mozzie spray on. Lot of damage to boardwalk but managed to get answers. Off to GZ and let eyes adjust and spotted the nice container. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks Team 737. All good with this cache
On our way home to Sydney after a weekend at a friend’s farm in Nabiac. We haven’t been through Mariah since the bypass went in. Sure is quiet! We enjoyed this great little walk and lamented what looks like intentional damage to the walkway and one of the signs. Liked reading about all the flora. Located the disguised container. SL TFTC Cheers… Gaztek
I was heading up to Bulahdelah today to place a new cache and stopped off at Karuah to attempt this cache and grab some lunch. All the required information was quickly found and my coordinates had the right checksums so it was then off to GZ. It took me a fair while, probably some ten minutes, before I finally looked from the right angle at the right height and spied the container. All in excellent condition, which is more than I can say for the boardwalk itself which needs a bit of maintenance.
Many thanks for this enjoyable multi.

One of the things I love about geocaching is how it takes you to places you don't know about and/or may not have otherwise visited. This cache is a great example of this. We are currently staying in Karuah for a mini family getaway. We've been here before a couple of times for overnight stops and never knew this lovely little spot existed. We really enjoyed the short stroll along this nice little boardwalk today. After gathering the required info along the way and crunching the numbers, we made our way over to GZ to begin our search. These types of hides can certainly be tricky to spot and I think I made it harder on myself by having a preconceived idea of the container - which proved wrong. A little bigger than I was expecting, but fantastic camo. Many thanks for bringing us here!
Took the geodog along the board walk to collect the clues. He didn't like stopping at the signs and kept pulling. Having collected the clues and working out the coordinates for GZ, headed off to find the cache. Unfortunately too many trees for hanging a micro cache so could not find it.
Quick detour off the highway on our way south today, managed to find all numbers without trouble and soon had coords matching the checksum. Very peaceful in here today and no mozzies to disturb us.
Short search at gz revealed the container
Thanks for the cache

Find No: 8468. Visiting from Newcastle with shaneo58, stayed at Forster overnight, thanks for the cache lee737!!
This was a good very short walk through the wetland as we collected numbers. After finding the cache we tried to continue our walk through rhe other section of wetland but were blocked by a very large, noisy dog on a long chain attached to a caravan and he did not inspire trust. Thanks for this tour along the boardwalk and a good final hide, well worth the detour.
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 11135.
With the youngest daughter in tow I came up today and we did this one without too many issues at all except for the mozzies.
Thanks lee737 for the cache.

TFTC. A nice walk along the boardwalk and then the actual cache not too hard to find
Found at 1:20 PM GAFF1.
What's this! A new cache along our route (more or less) down south! Well how convenient is that? We needed to stop for lunch and we haven't been to Karuah for a few years and the little Mazda 2 needed a break from the high speed highway driving. Headed off down the very well hidden walk - does anyone actually go there anymore? - and ticked off the answers to the questions, but suddenly the word got around amongst the local mozzies that there was some fresh blood in their little patch
So after getting what we wanted, we retreated hastily and jumped into the little M2 and drove around to GZ to find a very nice container that pleased us
Thanks lee737.
Feedback: Looking at the hint now, we were glad that we didn't need it at the time as we didn't have access to a thesaurus!

Great to see a cache in Karuah. Found this one while staying in the area with my Mum.

Was still a few points short of the monthly summit souvenir after grabbing some caches this morning, so the kids and I decided to head north for this one.
I often avoid doing multis as you never know what to expect but in this case I was reassured by the short length of the boardwalk. Knowing the area we loaded up on mosquito spray but despite this we still were almost carried off.
The girls quickly found all the clues and we ran and hid in the car while we did the sums.
I would love to say that we made a quick find at GZ but it seems like cache blindness is very strong today. We made contact with the CO,who reassured us that we were in the right spot and sure enough we found it 30s later. We walked passed it 15 times and at one point I put my hand a foot away from it, which shows just how good the camo is.
FP from us for hiding this so well in plain sight.TNLN TFTC

Got the email about this cache being published yesterday, but I wasn't able to get up here then.
This afternoon I was able to get here with my daughter, got the information for the coordinates and made our way to GZ.
After a bit of a search, my daughter found the cache, and a clean log sheet was found. TFTC
