I do really enjoy Queen belting out those favourites. I saw them live a few years ago but with Adam Lambert instead of Freddie - it was still a great concert. Finding this today - fully clothed and travelling in the car rather than by bike! A couple of kids were having a wonderful time playing in a huge puddle here. TFTC # 22,427
Had to laugh reading the cache page, maybe I've been spending to much time hanging around Hamilton recently, but the bike trail logo somehow reminds me of the "whale tail" which can often be seen sported by some of the larger girls there. But I digress, no problems finding the cache, with a quick find here, TFTC
A nice quick find. A couple of vehicles parked up, but all quiet at GZ. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are off on cruise up to Nelson and Picton. Time to head home. Traffic was minmal the weather was weather all good, and there were a few caches too..Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ as we head south to Christchurch after spending Kings Birthday weekend in Picton.Pretty sure I have found a cache here before, but happy to return for another. We initially tried one approach before deciding another angle would have a slightly easier access. Once there, a quick find. Don't think this will be going anywhere soon. TFTC.
#23811. We were in the area to find a puzzle, and stopped off to find this one as well. The nicely secured cache was a quick find once we'd found a decent route to GZ. TFTC.
Out looking for other opportunities nearby I figured I should pick up this one. Nicely restrained against the forces of nature. Cheers for the cache
Queen have my favourite song (Bohemian Rhapsody), but are not my favourite band. That qoes to the Alan Parsons Project (if you can call them a band - it's a bit problematic). None-the-less, Bicycle Race and Fat-Bottomed Girls are also amongst my all time favourites.I parked here at the bottom, walked back up to the top, realised the cache was over that away a bit, climbed over and found it. Walked down to the car after which was just 5m away. Man I took the long way around!---I have been trying to get to the South Island to do some cache maintenance for a while and eventually decided the only way I was going to get here was to prioritise it a little higher. So I told people that I can't go to where ever and tried to book a place on the ferry. No go. Not even a walk on space over Easter. So I booked this weekend instead and that still took three companies before I found some one with spare cars to hire out. So then I contacted other friends and told them I could not come (and called the first set and said actually, I can make it!)Five caches for maintenance in Havelock and Renwick on Saturday and then on Sunday three on the way to and in Kaikoura, and lastly one more on the way back to Picton.Saturday was also a multi-cache dot-day so I needed a multi. Luckily it is hard to go far in Blenheim without tripping over the rather excellent CCA series by Kiwimykl. Pity it was not also a size Other dot-day! Sunday had no particular personal challenge requirements, but I was back on the CCAs. I don't think I found them all, frankly, I have no idea. I'll see once all the logging is done. Will be interesting to see how many favourites I will have left, too!Oh. And then I discovered some (or all?) had lab caches with them. Alas it was just me and I kept forgetting to switch applications. So the amount of back and forthing was getting ridiculous. There are a number of roads I travelled more than four times!
Very glad to nail this one! Was only parked 14m away but let's say I took a circuitous route to it! All in excellent order. Previous flood debris noted! TFTC
It's quite a while since we headed over the hill so a spur of the moment decision was made this morning and off we went.We had previously considered attempting to find this but heeding the advice on the cache page about the river level we left it. Today there was no issue and we were able to drive to within a few metres of GZ where a quick find was made.Thank you PaoloB72.
While humming the song(s) in question I tried to avoid the grass seeds from sticking to my socks and filling my shoes then made a quick find.Thank you PaoloB72
**19,975**A hot dry day here but we are not to be deterred from our goal today so on we go. Mr Geckoh took one for the team and dug in to find this one. Soon had it in hand, log signed and returned as found. TFTC
I love listening to Queens . Our sound system isn't great in the camper van . I saw some light elephant tracks and found the hint item. I made the elephant tracks bigger, they should bounce over time.Sadly this is the last geocache find of the day. JDScout will be celebrating . I will not.I hope you had a merry Christmas and best wishes for the year
Found the right hint object, and cache, after a minute. Get on your bikes and ride
Agazo and I drove over the hill for a Raid from the West today.I couldnt see any likely hiding place from the car so Agazo braved the thigh high grass and soon spotted the host.TFTC
Marchwood and I came over to Blenheim for the day. We drove close to GZ and parked, Even though the big red herring looked appealing, our GPSr directed us to the right location. TFTC.
Stopped here to give the dog a breather after our ferry ride south. Only after we left did I think to look and realised we'd parked our car within a few metres of a cache. So on the return trip felt it was a necessity to stop here again and actually find it. Added bonus a train passed while we were here and the driver tooted and gave the kids a wave
Out in Marshlands for a walk along the Wairau diversion. Now driving back and collecting some park and grabs. Headed to the wrong item initially. Well it was dark! Once spotted all was fine. Thanks for the smiley
We had tried to find the first cache in this area on a couple of occasions bit it was too well hidden for us. So when I spotted that there was a new one in the area I asked if we could stop and have a look for it. Sure enough within a few moments GK had the cache in hand. We signed the slightly damp log (with plenty of space left on it) and as it is write in the rain paper there were no issues with getting our name onto the log.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

I was out and about with Kiwimykl this afternoon picking up caches that were smileys or stars on his map but greenies on mine, deliberately leaving those that were green on both our maps for a future challenge. The aim of this outing is to increase my tally towards the hard souvenir in the latest GCHQ challenge (1000 point required, this is worth 10). This was my thirteenth find of the day and was a QEF PnG seeing Kiwimykl was the joint FTFer. He said it didn't take me as long to find as he did. Kiwimykl advised the CO still hasn't met his target for the hard souvenir in the latest GCHQ challenge, so I hop the FP I give assists him.

Popped by to check on the "nearly full" log paper, only to find out that there is still the reverse side of that piece to go, and then both sides of the other piece there.
You can drive down under the bridge and turn around obviously not when riverside in flood.
#12,111. I am on a week of leave and brought our car across on the Cook Strait ferry early this morning. Spent the morning doing Picton caches and the afternoon doing Blenheim caches. Eventually heading south to Christchurch. Lovely sunny summers day. I parked near to the cache and was making my way there through the long vegetation when a council truck pulled up and asked me what I was doing. I told them I was checking out the tower to see what it was. They gave me an explanation of how it worked then drove off. I found the cache soon after. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found. Thanks Renwicks' DJ for hiding the cache here.
All good with the water level today and we drove down to this one. Managed to trip on the way to the cache but bonus is I now smell of fennel lol. Thanks for this cache Renwicks'DJ.
I was buzzing past on Bumblebee this morning so took the chance for a maintenance visit. Even I, took a few minutes to locate this one but once I found the tether I just followed it to the end and there was the container. Refitted at the base of post, still safely tethered.
Although we believe there has been quite a bit of rain in the area recently, we were able to drive right down to the cache which was a quick easy find as it was fully visible out in the open. We're not convinced it was where it should be, as it was tied to a not especially strong looking dead plant, and partly covered by flood debris, but lacking detailed location information, we felt obliged to leave it as it was. As it seems to have survived one flood, presumably it will survive another. TFTC
Out on a big bike ride...over 50km loop of Blenheim. Picked out 3 caches to grab along the way and here is number 1. Quiet here and far enough away from traffic for no one to take any notice of me.

A short stop here on the way to Picton and the ferry. No problems with the cache, and good to see that it is well tethered! Many years ago I have seen the water almost up to the decking of the nearby bridge . Signed log, TFTC.
The gps was on the ball here, tool me straight to it. Thanks Renwicks’ DJ

RNZ saw this cache published and reached out to KM about a possible joint FTF hunt. KM was keen as mustard & so was RNZ, so off we went!!
I had an terior motive for tagging along, I wanted to do a run & RNZ could drop me at Spring Creek on the way back, so i could run along the cycleway back to his.

{FTF} with ricardinho.nz and RG72 at 8.05am. I woke up earlier than usual this morning and checked my emails to find this cache and another which I had placed on SH 6 between St Arnaud and Kawatiri Junction had been listed. I was aware that there was a cache in this general area about to be listed because, I too, also noted the demise of a nearby B&W cache and submitted a cache for review. Unfortunately the reviewer came back saying someone had already prepared a cache which conflicted with mine, but hadn't submitted it, and according to his protocols the other placer had first dibs on the sight. I figured out who it was and thought it was a fair call, especially as the reviewer had offered me the same deal when I did a similar thing at the Rotary Lookout cache with the same CO. As they say Karma is a female dog.
As new listings are few and far between around here at the moment, ricardinho.nz and I agreed if the stars aligned we would share any FTFs that came up. I was preparing breakfast when the message came through from ricardinho.nz saying he and RG72 were heading out to this cache and invited me along for the shared FTF. Funnily enough, I was going to do the same after I has scoffed down my breakfast.
We agreed to meet at GZ at 0730 hours, and as I pulled up into the traffic queue near GZ, I wondered if RNZ and RG72 were in the car ahead of me. Sure enough, the window opened and a hand waved. As the construction crew vehicles were blocking the direct entrance we exited stage right and took the indirect route. Pulling up near GZ we both followed our respective devices to the same area, which, as I recall, was where the original cache was placed. Hunting around unsuccessfully for 15 minutes, richardinho suggested searching another nearby feature, and duly checked it out. At 12m to 13m from indicated GZ it was unlikely the cache would be there, and after a quick look, RNZ determined it wasn't. Shortly after I was muggled by the construction crew, asking what I was doing as there were 'major repairs' being undertaken on the bridge. I came up with the usual gem of 'We are on a treasure hunt' and he didn't pursue the matter further. At this stage it was time to press the CO for a clue, but my call went to voice mail. I left a message and continued searching in the same places we had been over again and again. Eventually the message came back suggesting the cache was near that previously mentioned feature 12m to 13m away. So this time I took a look and sure enough there it was. For a change it wasn't someone else finding the cache where I had already looked, which often happens when NZDi and I are together.
My coordinates are S 41 26.454 E 173 57.898 and were 12.2m away from GZ. I may have been inclined to look there if RNZ hadn't already done so, but where GZ was indicated had a multitude of possible hiding places.
TFTC Paolob72 +1 from me for the monthly FTF

I saw this published this morning and reached out to KM about a possible joint FTF hunt. Got the quick reply that it was a good idea, so rustled up some clothes and got the car started.
RG did likewise, but for her it is mostly a one way trip. The plan was to drop her off at Spring Creek on the way back so she can run home.
We drove up to GZ, and it’s a one way system over the bridge.
Joined the queue, and soon KM was behind us in his flash new ute. We took the turnoff to the right and headed under the bridge to begin the hunt.
Ok, so it floods through here, and you can see evidence of this in the gabions stepping up to the bridge.
So naturally we started the search high and poked around all the nooks and crannies we could find. The GPS was reading 2 or 3 metres, so it looked like we were in the right place.
But after a decent going over, and out of ideas, KM contacted the CO.
In the meantime I checked out another feature - GPS reading about +/- 13 metres here - and checked out the back of it. It seemed to be the only hint on the cache page, after all.
A magnetic could be hidden here, but again it can flood to here so I didn’t check the base. You can probably see where this is heading….
Another 15 minutes or more was spent searching places we had already been, to the point that KM poked his head above the parapet, so to speak, and into the line of sight of a traffic Marshall. Soon we had to answer to his questions of what we were doing near a traffic management site, but he seemed OK with the situation in the end.
With all ideas exhausted, KM then got a further bit of intel and revisited the spot I had been. Cache found and signed and all good. Nice to see it is tethered, I think it will need that at the very least.
TFTC Paolob72, coords out a bit but otherwise all good.

Looks like I stuffed up and have the coordinates of the archived cache listed. I will fix it this week.
Windy bike ride to locate a new cache. Thanks to KM and his pioneering team for saving us a ton of head scratching and cursing. Found pretty quick with the 13 metre clue. Thanks Paolab.
