Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there currently heading down South for a week or so we had been going through some Mystery Caches to see which ones we qualified for & which ones were on our route this was on our list of caches to find today were towing a 8m Caravan so it made for some interesting times finding somewhere to park close to Ground Zero it was raining steadily & the GPS was bouncing around a bit I was overwhelmed by the size of that piece of concrete that the cache was hiding under the cache ended up being an easy find, log-book completed & promptly replaced pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS #5,787 for Us!

Heading down to PN for a caching trip and we qualify for this challenge, so will hopefully sign the log later this month.

We were going to look for this cache but the traffic was so busy couldn't cross the road so we will return another time to find this cache when travelling North.

#14,940. Park, walk and grab off State Highway 1 in the Waiouru Military Area. The GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. It's that crazy time of year where you blink and suddenly everything is happening! Blink! (Summer starts) Blink! (work finishes for the year) Blink! (you're driving across the country to spend xmas with a friend)...At least this year I'm breaking the driving up just a little Last night I spent the evening in Palmy, so that today I would be able to take a leisurely drive to Auckland, at a pace that would allow me to collect a few caches along the way that have been placed since I last did this drive.I've already found 3 other caches of this series so far, all nearer to my home than this one. But in those 3 cases, I'm still missing a single month so I've not been able to claim any of the finds yet. At least I knew I could claim all of today's finds immediately!The road was pretty busy today as one might expect, and there was a fairly visible presence from our boys in blue. In fact as I pulled over to stop near GZ, some bloke in a BMW was being given a ticket only about 200m away. We are continuing with these challenge caches on our way further north today. This was our first for the day, and another that we qualify for. Mr nzk had driven the big rig on ahead, leaving Mrs to make the stops (much easier when driving a smaller vehicle). After a conversation with a young couple who had stopped to walk their dog and take photos of the view, she also took a few pics until they drove away and she was able to locate the cache. She admitted to some anxiety about having to dig in the snow for it, so was relieved that wasn’t necessary. All good here, thanks Phronimos.

#13,344. My last in this series today. Will hopefully find time to stop and get the rest on the way south later in August. Lots of snow about today and crunched my way through it wondering if the cache would be buried. But it wasn't. Soon had my name in the logsheet. Thanks Phronimos for the fun series. A favourite from me for the nice setting. I actually just completed the full Jasmer 2 weeks ago while on a trip to Sweden. So this series is a nice reminder of the effort its taken to get there.

I have signed the log on a road trip with Lis'screw but there are some gaps in my grid still to fill. Once those are filled I will upgrade to a found log.
Still to find: Feb, March and May.

I'd just been on a great geotrip with my friend thedbees. We'd been to the Palmerston North area to collect the Stickmen and Viking puzzles. We'd then gone down to stay with another geocaching buddy in Greytown. She kindly drove us around that area before we set off to Levin via a few more specifically targeted caches. Today was the start of the long journey back to Paihia - only to Auckland today though.

Nice to collect this series today as I love a challenge. I think these ones on the Central Plateau will compete another challenge to find 10 caches above 1000m but I'll have to check that.

Easter was spent driving my cousin around the North Island, showing her some of my favorite places. Unfortunately the weather at this point wasn't the greatest, and the mountains were obscured by clouds. I also made heavy weather of finding this cache, as my phone refused to settle, sending me round in circles! Eventually, however the pesky little blighter was tracked down, and my name added to the log. TFTC!

I signed this on a jaunt up the North Island, only getting round to signing this now. It was fairly dreary when I pulled over. My GPS was pushing me up the mound so spent a bit of time wandering, looking for the hint object that wasn't there, getting desert sand all over my sandals. Eventually brought back down to earth and eventually spotted it. Signed and replaced. All good here, and TFTCC.

A long weekend and balancing the weather with what we wanted to do meant that an Easter Sunday trip to Taupo was what we wanted to do. We stayed overnight with our daughter in Taihape the night before which meant we were 45 minutes closer to the lake and enabled a sedate drive North grabbing occasional caches. On my radar for today was the remaining 'This was the year' challenge caches, a recce for the Stump Bay LBH caches and a new Ad Lab in Taupo, as well as the recent Virtual placement. As has been the story lately, not huge numbers, but a nice day out and some nice sites and sights. Cheers all COs.

Stayed the night in my van at Whakapapa Village, first time to have done that and it was quite cool, although I must remember never to park up under trees in rain, I was kept awake with drops of water falling off the wet trees. I'm down for the weekend, for cache maintenance and to place a few caches too. There are a series of challenge caches all of which I qualify for by this C.O, they have been a must to do.

Love driving over the desert rd, done a hundred times, never tire of it. I had a few caches of my own along this route I had to attend to. Nice to pull over and claim this hide too, thanks Phronimos.

Now finally i can put together the necessary to log these caches after bottling 10kg of Peaches and a little bit more of pears all from our trees which greeted us when got home after visiting Rotorua . Another long weekend, and despite the weird weather we've been having all over the country I still managed to get away up to Taupo (from Wellington) for four days of summer fun that included the annual Taupo summer concert as well as some lake kayaking and some geocaching.

I left Wellington straight after work on Thursday night and drove to Taupo. Despite the rain I was able to collect a few caches along the way. Friday was my main day for driving around the area and doing both the couple of Adventure Labs. Sunday was mostly about the kayak, and a particular cache that I could only get that way. And Monday was the drive home again for a few more road side ones on the way back home.

One of my goals for the trip was to collect all the remaining *That Was the Year (Mini Jasmer Challenge) caches that I qualified for, like this one.

Today we are making our way south from Gordonton to Feilding for a belated Christmas catchup with one of our daughters and her family, and of course we are finding a few selected caches along the way. Again we were able to safely park on "our" side of the highway and carefully make our way across to GZ. Well, with worldwide triple jasmer under my belt I knew I would over qualify for this, so it was just a matter of making the find, which we did this evening - in the company of Punga & Paua and Jagersmum.
