A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are on the road again, up "North" to visit family an friends. NOt too far from "home" today, and it was not too hard to find.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
We come here all the time, but never Geocache. My dads first time Took him 15min. Me and my mum do it on a different account.
Third time lucky and half an hour of looking around I finally found this one! Would probably have given up on it if there hadn't been some recent fonds. Certainly a tad more than a 1.5 difficulty.Council seems to be in the process of destroying the tranquility of these tracks so access to the path blocked by a jcb from one side .Cache on the other hand extremely well cammoed and in great condition. Thanks for the hide
Didn't find spent ages looking around the cave cool spot been here 10 years never knew this was here..I suspect it was washed away with the Auckland 2023 flooding
Found it surprised it survived the Auckland flooding great camouflage I almost gave up
Very impressive cave art. Took us little while but we found it at the end. Favourite point from us.
Found the artwork. What a great concept and a fun feature for kids to explore. I searched around a lot of hint objects without success. Guess it could still be there but the camo was beyond my ability today.
Lived near here most of my life, hadn' t been to this park for 10 years or so , Whoever has tidied up the park and built the tracks has done a superb job, you can now walk the length of the creek absorbing the natural beauty of the bushland . Met one local who told me the creator has been trespassed by the council. If this is true, the Council has a lot to answer, for they should be giving this guy a medal, not punishing him. It seems that a lot of the locals are angry at the council over this. Great artwork, by the way.
My spate of DNFs for the day continues. Not sure if the storm has washed things away. Spent ages circling a 10m radius of the cave, with no luck
Came across several unusual construction efforts on my way in. This was a beauty and a favourite.

More and more countries are now opening up for traveling. I took the opportunity to make a short trip. To visit some places, I’ve been visiting a long time ago. To see if anything has changed but also to find some caches. Maybe also meet some fellow geocachers. You see, the world consists of two kinds of people: Your friends, and the ones you haven’t met yet. And I was lucky to extend my list of friends during my trip.
After a couple of days in various places in Australia, I just popped over to New Zealand. It’s just a short jump after the long trip from Europe to Australia. Unfortunately, it’s just a short stop in Auckland this time. It’s winter here and I don’t want to be stuck in snow…
It has been a lovely stop and I met lots of new friends. I especially want to thank Gorbygorbachov for taking me around in his car, making it easier for me to reach some interesting caches outside the city center of Auckland.
We were early to today's CITO so I managed to grab this ahead of the CITO.

Found this after the tree planting CITO event that we came up here today to attend. What an amazing cave - thanks for bringing my attention to it. TFTC
Just spotted this trad on the map and realsied we had found it back in May this year when we attended the CITO in this reserve. Found as part of the group while being shown the improvements being made here. TFTC
While attending the CITO in this park, a group of us stopped to check out the cave art and find this cache. We were joined by a muggle grandmother and her 2 young grandsons who were keen to help locate the treasure and learn more about geocaching. The boys were a little shy to follow us to gz, but once they spied the cache they were keen to open it up and see what was inside. They each chose a piece of swag and were very happy to take their loot home.
Thanks for showing us this special place Merlot. FP added

Such a pleasure to find this cache during CITO event in Glendene Reserve Park. Great camo and interesting spot in the forest!

Rafajaw and I were a bit early for the CITO so took a walk down to GZ to find this before lots of other people came. Amazing little cave and not seen anything like this before. Rafa soon had his hands on the cache and then back up the hill to see who else had turned up. Thanks for this cache in an interesting place.
Came today to the May Day CITO . . . . . Grabbed this whilst clearing out ginger plants . . . . . TFTH
Was nearby for the CITO and found the cache in between pulling out weeds, and shoveling bark. Loved the very clever cam9, filled with treasure.
The cave art is amazing. A fun find, thanks merlot58 for the hide, unexpected location, reminded me of France or the movie Iceage

I actually visited this cache 3 times today, so I really got to see how cool the cave was First time was on a maintenance visit with the CO since we were both at the CITO early - but both of us had left our pens in our bags... whoops. So I had to come back a second time with a pen and a few other cachers during the CITO, and Jag50 signed me in (and I added in a blue marble). And then later on in the CITO I came back with CyclicalCaching since he hadn't seen it yet.
I like the camo and the hiding spot, and of course the cave that was the reason for putting a cache here - it's really impressive and a total surprise to anyone walking through the reserve! Thanks for hiding it here and it was great to see you today too.

Found today during the CITO. No pen so took a photo showing the log today. Great camo! TFTC!!!
Team Welsh kindly offered to take me to the nearby CITO event this morning, but since we arrived a little early and only Gorby was here, we thought it'd be a great idea to head on down to this cache and find it before it gets busy later on We both enjoyed the walk down to this cache (One that we'd become familiar with later on in the morning with the CITO work ), and soon arrived at GZ and WOW - what a sight this was! Someone must've gone into a lot of work in creating that... it reminds me of the cartoon movie - "The Croods" set back in the stone age
After taking in the impressive cave art, Team Welsh and I split up searching the bank for anything matching the hint item... We searched high and low until I thought I may have spotted something from afar :O Upon closer inspection, it was sure enough the very well-camoed cache (◕‿◕), tucked nicely away in it's hiding location! I signed both of us in and now that I've seen FMZ's photo of the log, I've just realised that I was the only one who used red pen. Hey - at least I spiced things up a bit
Was very nice getting to meet the CO today at the event as well as many other cachers who I've just gotten to recently know... it was a different style of event for me but I quite liked the satisfaction that came from it! TFTC merlot58 and of course FP awarded for the fabulous location and great camo on the container (Fingers crossed it lasts over winter). To me, this is what geocaching is all about... taking you to cool places you would never otherwise had visited!

8068 While attending a CITO in the park we wandered down to sign this one off. Enjoyed the cave and the work that has been done. Thank you for the placement.
Wow!
What a cave! Such a super project the artist is doing here!
Improving the park immensely with this type of thing!
Great camo on the cache! FP for the effort!

Now I've lived in Glendene my whole life, but never knew there was a cave down the road! The things I discover through Geocaching, gotta love it. This took a bit of hunting to find the correct tree fern, but I eventually found it. Went further off track than I expected from the description. Nice camo, felt like an abnormally shaped coconut.
I fancied some food from Countdown, and after a little bit of shopping, decided to come here for a looksie. I ended up going around in circles to somewhere near GZ. But after a few minutes I'm thinking fern.... punga... aren't they the same? Well then that sort of broadened the search area.
But in the mean time, I spotted an old dude ambling along the track, I saw him and his doggie but he never saw me, perhaps it was because of his long unkempt hair, and he couldn't see out, and old clothes, was he a homeless man? Or was he the mysterious cave art dude that OneRanger spoke to yesterday? I might never get to know!
Anyway, back to my search, I had checked trees with what I thought had knees, but I wasn't having any success, so I kneeded to ring merlot, she can tell me where I kneed to be. Got more intel, then I searched a bit more...YES! Found it, but is that a knee? To me it looked more like the head of a hammer head shark..... lol. but I'm not complaining, I kneed this cache for points on the latest leaderboard for the Signal souvenirs. Hopefully I'll get more of those 50 point bonus Signal's Labyrinth items, whatever they are.
Thanks merlot, really enjoyed my little search, walked along up the stream seeing stuff here quite unusual for a stream. Will post a few fotos but not the cave.

An interesting find. Met the guy who dug the cave. Used the clay to line the track with. He also did the paintings. When I explained geocaching to him he felt quite chuffed that it was mentioned in this cache. Tftc
Lied out this way for over 40 years and never been down this little reserve. What a neat little trail..and awesome camo...cheers V
As it is TwosDay ....all the Twos , and I needed a special cache...Miss Two and I wandered up to check out this newish cache I have been so keen to see.
Wow you have really outdone yourself here merlot !
How did you ever find this cool place?
Took wrong way up concrete path at first...
Then I realised there is a secret entrance between Two Flax bushes.
Can't wait to take all my other Auckland grandchildren to see the cave /art.
Cache was close by at an obvious place...with cool camo .
Will drop off some swag items later Twoday...

We were in a nearby reserve walking the geohounds and picking up another cache when the notification came out for this. This is my first Merlot ftf and my second ftf for the year. What a fabulous reserve this one is. I'm not sure this cave will stand the test of time that others have but the hounds were keen to check it out in depth. A tricky but great hide!
