I am back in Tauranga to sign off the completion of the P2P caches and the REALLY Side Tracked series in the Western Bay area plus a few others that might get in the way. Now, is that Base 2 or Base 10, or Base 64? I object being called a Cabbage.Cheers for the cache, Geckoh.
I was hoping it would be one closer to the trail, so I looked there first. Alas, I still had to hike up to the right place. TFTC.
Out on the e-scooter, collecting more geocaches along this segment of track up until Kaituna Road and the point where the path has been temporarily closed. Number 4. You could say I am on a roll! (Get it? ) TFTC and a fav point representative of the section, this one requiring a little more grunt work.
I was definitely not wearing the correct shoes for this one! Disturbed a few spidy webs! TFTC!
Thanks for your amazing cache Geckoh. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288. Unfortunately part of the track from Maketu is closed. Need to return later. Cheers, Cympull.
Our last find of the day after an enjoyable walk along the pathway, made even better by this great series.A nice one to end on as it was a bit more challenging than some of the others and involved a brief exploration into the foliage. At first the cache proved elusive but a bit of a rummage around soon uncovered it.After signing the log and re-hiding the container we had to turn around and head back but are very keen to return to complete this great series. Thanks Geckoh for all of these caches, such a great variety and very cleverly placed. To be continued.
Good find with woolwood9 on a few days away.SL *tm/ww NZ*This was the main area for us to geocache today. We got a shock with the signs at start (or finish) by P2P 25 where there were barriers and signs saying cycleway CLOSED. However detour took us to access near P2P 11 so we started there. Track is blocked off heading towards the higher number caches on the trail as well.Another good one along the trail for us!Thanks for the cache. Not really hard to get to this one, there is a bit of a track.
Heading north with tmann421 for a few days. This was day three with plenty of miles for us to cover.Enjoyed the hide hereGreat trail along hereSigned log tm/ww NZTFTC
Have been meaning to tackle these two series for ages, and was hoping to knock them off before the end of 2023 to hit our 500, but just didn't quite get there. So, did the next best thing and hit them up on the first day of 2024 instead!17th find for the day today. A small hike to get to this one, but easily found again. TNLN. SL.Thanks for the placement. Really glad to have this turned into a smiley.
Out with Pork and Puha on nice Spring day! Tftc! This one eluded us for a bit. But soon in hand!
Out and about with the shoebs family. This one took a while to find.A good find, grab, sign, and flee.TFTC
7 from 7 - again the not so little one was off the bike and gone bush with the ‘found it’ sung out.
In the area today with junior cacher and Mrs stik-a-crane for some RNR, and luckily the weather decided to play ball for the time we were visiting.
Spotted this trail and managed to lock in accommodation reasonably close by, but still decided to drive closer to the trail start......was going to park at the boat ramp, but due to recent heavy rain, that option had been flooded, and no longer an option, so went a little further down the road, set up the bikes, and set off along the trail.....
The cache was all good.
TFTC.

A fun bound through the flax and shortly thereafter the cache was in hand. TFTC!
I too did this in the dry. If you don't like spiders and cobwebs then this one may be better to ride past.
I needed a decent bike ride today and I could not ignore this trail any longer.
Easy push through the flax. I'm glad I did this when dry as I imagine it would would be awful if wet and when the flax gets bigger.

With the Geotour coming to and end soon Yvettetb and I decided to go on a road trip to collect Tahi and Rua. Of course I had some puzzles at various places to collect and a few special types were added to the list too.
Today's plan was to get a few caches around Rotorua with high favourite points. We then wanted to head up to Tauranga via a few PWGT caches. As it turned out we only got one cache in Rotorua this morning as it was drizzling so we headed north to avoid the rain.
Our initial plan was only grabbing a couple of puzzles. With the nice weather we enjoyed a walk along this cycleway. It was a nice little tail of good quality and well maintained caches, thankyou

Our North Island Roadtrip from Whangarei to complete Tahi & Rua of the NZ Geotour - Day Twelve.
Another quick find at GZ on our way along the cycle track. Thanks for these caches as I need a favourite for your amazing geotour cache found earlier today. TFGC

Out walking with CamCat1 on this damp day. No problem in finding this cache, signed log and placed back as found. Cheers
A nice quick find. A wee bit off the trail this one. I found most of the caches on the trail, but not all. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on our annual pilgrimage to Auckland to visit family. Today we cruised from Whakatane to Cambridge.. The weather was fine and warm, and the Christmas traffic is stating to build!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Got off work at lunchtime and headed out to enjoy the sunny winters day. Cold but not a cloud in the sky. Returned to complete this P2P series. Have driven past so many times and imagined I would return here with a bike but instead had to walk it. Still enjoyable with all the varied hides to break up the walk. Wasn’t looking forward to the flax hides however with the clear hints they were no problem. Took 2 hours to collect the remaining 18 caches. Cache and log all fine here. Thanks Geckoh for all your effort in setting up the series.
Khonig and I have been talking about doing the Papamoa to Paengaroa trail series for a while now... and with the added bonus of completing some puzzle caches along the trail we decided that today was the day. Weather was brilliant... no rain and just enough cloud to keep us from over heating. Between us we had two cars so decided to be strategic about placement of the cars so we only had to do the trail once... thank goodness because we had tired feet by the time we were finished. Thanks so much for all the caches along the trail... a very well maintained and enjoyable experience.
5 June 2022 17:23. Light fading too much by now and I needed to get back to the car so didnt spare more than a cursory glance. I'm sure it's there, just not for me today
Plan was to walk and cache this power trail until I needed to be heading to mt Maunganui. Found most but not all. .
Out walking the P2P trail in reverse numerical order from south to north this morning.
Would have to say we were pleased for the cabbage in amongst so many flaxes. Thanks.

Not hard to locate where I was heading for this one almost looked like the rhinos went through here.

A path well traveled. Fav point for the container. Didn't take long to grab the cache. Tftc
Searched the wrong place to start then found where we should've been looking. Cheers
Nope not as per hint but close! I guess as long as it's found it's OK. Thanks for bringing us here geckoh
Thats one beaten path...no guessing where this leads too soon located and signed all good here.
Today is the day, regardless of the rain, that McJandals and I are doing this trail. Thanks for placing these caches.
Cheers

Needing some fresh air and exercise after a few days if inclement weather and a break from the computer (trying to solve a geckho puzzle), teamed up with Dee+ME. Armed with our bikes and fingers crossed it won’t rain off we went.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Logged with permission. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

A great day for biking this trail and gathering some smileys as we go. Started at the Gordon Spratt Reserve, morning tea at the Kaituna wetlands - they're looking fabulous - lunch at Makatu then caching again on our way back. 49km all up, 32 caches and no DNFs. Cache is all good. TFTC
Ooooh how exciting, a new trail of caches on a cycle path, and in the direction we're going!
Having joined up with mr rattll again, we left Kawerau and headed here. Mrs rattll headed off on the bike and this time it was mr rattlls time to do the dog sitting.
Oh a little cross country! Spotted the little trail, andvin I went.
Thanks for putting all these caches on this cycleway

Finally we had a weekend free and this new trail gave us the opportunity to get back out on the bikes and dependent on the number of successful finds, also gain the final summit challenge souvenir which we had almost given up on.
ROS had been on this cycleway several times before but at a much faster pace than today.
There were a lot of passing muggles who offered help thinking we had lost something and the occasional runner who must have wondered why we made such slow progress when he passed us on his return!
We had been expecting someone to set this trail up so it wasn’t a complete surprise when the caches were published. Enjoyable trail TFTC.

7925 After seeing this trail pop up over the weekend I decide to get on my bike and collect them. Parked at the northern end and took me just over 3hrs to do the round trip. with only 1 DNF. Will have to comeback for that one. Enjoyed the trail with interesting hides some of which I found a challenge to find. Thank you for all the effort in creating these caches.
Thankfully the hint item here made for an easy find amid the other plants.

Time to get the bikes out and tackle this trail. The first challenge was to navigate our way through all the new housing down Papamoa. We parked down the end of Te Okuroa Drive and hopped on.
Nice easy start out around the pond and on to the trail We have been waiting a long time for someone to set up a trail along here and really looking forward to it
This cache was our meeting place for catching up with other caches. I was just coming down as Canaryz was coming up and when we were returning we came across some bikes on the path and riders up the bank. Nice one Josh and family TFTC

This was the most difficult find of the night really hard to see small cabbage via phone torch. Believe it or not a muggle on a bike got the fright of his life as I came out of the flax lol ?? FP for that
Off with ABCDF4 for the weekend, sat ended up with the Squirrel and Davidson Clan on the trail from Papamoa south boardering the motorway. Neat walk, good hides and a beer at he end compliments of Fap & Gap.Thanks to Cos for placements, Highly recommend.
Off on a weekend away
Heading for the Beach
got a call from squirrel Nutcase to see if we wanted to join him, there is New P2P trail.
Didn't take to much persuasion
Awesome Trek,hints spot on
Nice hide a bit different
Thanks to the CO Lots of time gone into this trail

With (Mr) Davidson Clan, ABCDF4 and eyespyben… Our Huntly friends responded to our invite to walk the P2P trail, and we were able to park a vehicle at either end…
Another variation - followed the emerging trail and the iPhone gps took us right to it. Who would be silly enough to come here at night? Thanks Geckoh and TFTC.

Had a giggle at the last log...this walkway must've had a lot more people on it than usual!
Handy wee geotrail up to gz so not too difficult thanks to the past finders .

saw someone walking the track about 100 m away so decided to slow down in case I was muggled but what do you know its the 1st to find himself Philip. Nice to have a good chat and a catch up.
Excellent to see a power trail taking shape along this walkway - it's something we'd long talked about but lacked motivation. I made my way over to gz 3 hours after publication unsure if the [FTF]s were still there - but happy to find that they were. It was pretty close though considering I met Grifter13, kimbathelion and buzzybb on my wander... This was the first fifteen publications of the series and all the hides were all straight forward with good hints, accurate coords and reliable containers. We expect nothing less from the 14 year geocaching veterans - Team Geckoh. TFTC A long hike up to this one battling weeds and flax - not a nano though - onto the next one.**Early 2015 a group of Tauranga based cachers started a [BOP Geocaching Facebook Page](https://www.facebook.com/groups/GeocachingBOP/).240 cachers currently make up this [Closed](https://www.facebook.com/help/220336891328465#What-are-the-privacy-options-for-groups) group where we organise various geocaching events and excursions as well as share information and friendly banter.
