Checked this again today - still in its spot. If the gps jumps - follow the fence line and look up and down.
But of a work getting to it.But really enjoyed it. Did find a different crossing point on my way back as my boots weren't great on the steel pipe almost ending in getting very wet. Thanks for placing this cach and the adventure.
Made it across the stream thru the ginger and to the fence but not enough of a clue after that for our level it would seem- will try again maybe
Came to check on this one after the last log. Found our cache a couple of metres away from its original spot. Put it back where it belonged, added the last cachers temporary cache and removed the new cache. Happy hunting.
This is where we cross and I have no idea where a plum tree maybe but the whole area where the cache is hidden used to be an orchard
Too tricky for us. Wondering if its moved due to the flooding earlier this year?
( ) I don't know why but I thought this cache belonged to supernanny. I must have read something somewhere, never mind I see this belongs to Eyretle. I took a bus-train to New Lynn, then another bus to here the 171, it dropped me off just at the start of Laingholm Dr, then walked a few minutes along Huia Rd, crossed the bridge and walked past all the house, took a sharp left and cut thru the bush, bush-bashing. I came to a small stream and there was a bridge of sorts, crossed that without falling into the narrow stream, then bush-bashed thru the large leaf plants, and found a wire fence. ( ) I knew I must be getting closer, so bashed my way over the fence, then I could see things starting to open up. I could then see there was a much easier way I could have come...lol. From here I worked my way along the fence-line, it took a sharp left, and I carried along. Then I could see a large opening grassy field, But where is the plum tree?? ( ) But my co-ords put me at the end of the fence line or so, and the very last concrete post. Went up and down the fence line, no cache to be seen. I think this cache has gone alright, the previous finder was before the extreme floods of Feb 2023, so since I have spent so much time here, I have replaced the cache. I had paper with me, a very sharp box cutter, but no actual cache. I did find a drink bottle near one of the conc posts and used that as a make shift cache, (fotos added) So I fashioned that into a cache, hung it about 1m high, and jammed it between the post and wire. This should suffice for now Eyretle.
Knew we must have been so close! Crossed the stream, found the clearing, the fence and the plum tree others have mentioned! But to no avail.... no cache was found. GPS bounced a bit so hard to determine exactly how close we might have been.
After walking Karamatua with Pazza2, I persuaded her to stop here to have a look for this cache as I thought it might be a tricky one. After crossing the stream without getting wet feet we initially were searching the wrong part of the fence but we followed it around and soon came across an area that matched the description and then easily found the cache. We then raided the nearby plum tree and the geohound had a great time splashing in the stream.
I think our geohound was thrilled that Merlot suggested a visit to this park..... Mr Pazza was less so, because after all ready having been on a long walk, he only had one thing on his mind......LUNCH. Once the description of the cache page fitted what we saw, we knew we were in the right spot. While Mr Pazza and Merlot grabbed the cache, I spotted a plum tree full of plums. Absolute score ! Clearly a well loved spot by dogs too. Thanks for bringing us all here.
Went and checked on this one as there was a large number of did not finds. Found it right were it should be- Nice and dry. Used our usual crossing point of the stream and noted a lot of vegetation growth which hides some holes in the ground. Be careful once you are on the other side of the stream!!! The fence is wire - look for the concrete posts.
Out with Team SEAC for the day looking for caches. Got the message from NZTravellers for a sudden place change as his these FTFs turned up. Made our way out here to begin the trail.
We were digging around for a while for this one. Going in between vines and leaning over the fence. No show, sadly. At the end, we had to call it off.

A long weekend and the usual Team SEAC adventure had been planned by Keylev starting to day. The idea was for a convoy of cars to head up north walk a reginal park while grabbing some caches.
On my way to Keylev's place this group of FTF's were released NOT where we were going. When I arrived at Keylev's immediately muted the idea of changing plans and heading for these FTFs. Knowing Keylev had spent a lot of time organising todays adventures I didn't want to appear to bossy HOWEVER with the number of FTFs going we just had to. Trouble was people were already in cars heading to the organised walk. A quick video chat with all participants and everyone agreed FTFs were the way to go.
So we all changed direction and headed to the start for an eventual day. The logs were signed as Team SEAC including HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-Crane, NurseDr, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Cragger, BrowneHornet, Liverkiwi, @McArgister and B4Dawn meaning a huge group FTF list for these caches!
Having now completed the FTF hunt we were heading back in the general direction of home and dinner. Couldn't just keep driving past caches and not find them!
We fo8und a good spot to cross the river here and found the fence line but even with multiple eyes searching we couldn't find the cache. We did note there appeared to be a recently felled tree and we are wandering if this has disturbed the cache.

In the absence of a MEGA event this Labour Weekend, Keylev had spent some time planning a Mega Mysterious Weekend for members of Team SEAC (a group of cachers from south and east Auckland who often cache together). Today's plan was to head north, but as we left home the notifications of new caches in this area came through so we made a quick change of plans and were lucky enough to get a number of FTF's. In the group today is HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-Crane, NurseDr, Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Cragger, BrowneHornet, Liverkiwi, B4Dawn, @McArgister.
Once we finished the trail, we found more caches in the area . Due to the large number of cache names we signed as SEAC or Team SEAC to save space.
We spent quite a while looking here today with no luck. Our first DNF for the day. Reading previous logs, it does sound a tricky cache so we will be back to try again another day.

Labour Weekend has historically been a minimum 3 day Team SEAC all out adventure so a little while ago I started planning some fun for us. Today was all set for a walking day up north but as we were leaving the house the notifications started coming through for Karamatura....quick team lets head in an alternative direction....its a Mega Mysterious Weekend after all!! After completing the track we continued on in the area for some more (of course!!).
Well I'm ginger so we thought we would be in a good position to find this one....the guys found a spot to cross without getting wet but try as we might we had no luck today. Enjoyed reading the story on the cache page.

Was just about to set off for an adventure up North with Team SEAC when a flurry of publications flooded the in box....within minutes chatter spiked up, and a video chat started about attempting the FTF's on this group of caches, and with a few of us keen on this option the plan changed, and we headed over to our new destination, which was also 10mins closer....
Arriving at the designated parking spot, we decided to drop a car at the end to enable us to carry on caching the area after the trail completion, but as we drove we noted the increase in elevation....discussed changing our starting point, enabling the trail to be more down hill, but decided that we might loose the FTF potential......
Once back to the starting point, and all participants had arrived, we set out on the trail......
Then we headed out and around the area gathering more smilies.....
Spent what seemed to be ages here, but none of us wanted to let this one unfound.....but it got the better of us....maybe next time.....

Out with Team Seac for another day of adventures. We weren’t planning on coming this way, we had another full day planned elsewhere, but while enroute we got the alerts of some new caches, and we couldn’t take the opportunity to miss these….so we changed our google maps while driving and found our new destination. So we walked the Huia trail (sorry forgot the real name of it), after doing that and getting all the FTF’s we stayed in the area and cached our way home.
Sorry for the generic logs. Thank you for taking the time to place this cache.
Out with KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, NZTravellers, LiverKiwi, NurseDr, B4Dawn. All logs signed “Team Seac” or similar to save log paper.

Yeap - patience and persistance pays off . I found a good log across the stream with a hand rail.
Last find of the day for me. A little tricky as GPS was all over the place and the hint could be distracted too. But I did not gave up First of all I thought there is a piece of rubbish actually it was a container Good one! I really enjoyed this hide plus crossing the stream too!

Dogs having a great time running down the stream...
we managed to cross and keep our feet dry
Out with RafaJaw and Supernannny who is a previous finder.
She stood back and watched as we worked our way along the fence and RafaJaw found it. !
so no one got lost today !

Last cache of the day and what a nice location for one! Whilst walking to the cache, a few large dogs were following us and jumping in and out of the stream, which provided a rather unpleasant experience as they shook off all their water on to us. Scaled the creek until we found a suitable crossing point... I took the pipe so I could practice my balancing skills (Fortunately they were good as gold), and we all had arrived at GZ. Took a little while to find this one, but we knew we were onto it soon enough. TFTC Eyretle!
Out for a day's caching with nette1234 and supernannny around the Titirangi/Cornwallis area... It was a beautiful, sunny day and very peaceful with few people out this way due to it being a weekday. Our target was the new Cornwallis Ad Lab, but we also managed to grab 8 trads along the way, bringing us to a total of 13 finds for the outing Lots of fun and laughter was had... however, this may have been the cause of a couple of DNF's Thanks to all CO's for their hides

That was a bit of a scramble thru the undergrowth. Took some searching as my GPS keep pointing about 10 m away but a systematic search along the hint did the trick. Tftc
Thought I would pop over here this afternoon and redeem myself after a shameful dnf in the dark 2 weeks ago!
I actually almost did get lost that time!
Plus I was attacked on my legs by blackberry...got my good sandals all muddy...and a frisky labrador jumped on my back!
Today was a walk in the park!
I can't believe I am second to find!
Thanks Eyertle...However do I think the terrain rating could be a tad higher?
Looking forward to more of your caches !

We saw that this cache was still waiting to be found, so headed here after work. Made our way to gz (a part of the park we had not visited) and see that this would be paradise for a four legged friend. Fortunately we have not had rain for a while and the river levels weren't too high today and we were glad that we had good footwear for this adventure. Then we saw ALL the ginger that we needed to navigate the final path to gz. Once at gz we quickly spotted the camo'd cache container and opened it up to find a blank log. Thanks for the cache and [FTF]. We have picked up the TB and will move it on.
