An unexpected trip to Whangarei today and with some time to spare I set off to Onerahi to take a look at the sea and seek out a few caches. There were only a limited number of places to hide a cache here. The previous DNF made me wonder if itd succumbed to the gulls, but no!Theres the little blighter. Thanks 0B80B8#5536Logged using Cachly.
**21,633**Pulled up at GZ and found no seagulls but after a bit of an extended search located a little cache that was not where we had expected after some of the information provided - maybe we were just misinterpreting it but it doesn't matter now because the cache was finally located and the log signed - right on to the next one. TFTC
Noticed whilst passing that some council maintenance has happened here and consequently, the cache is gone. Will sort a replacement in the near future.
Up the North Whangarei,KawaKawa,Pahia,Russell for Easter Weekend with ABCDF4So far there has been some great & clever hintsAlso the wee NanosSo a Big thanks to CO for making it a great weekend
Back out this way again have sometime before going homeThis one had as going as well very cleverThanks
Out on the bikes with rattll, picking up caches along the eastern side of Onerahi today. All quiet at GZ early(ish) in the morning. Rattll had the cache in hand pretty quickly. Log good and dry, signed, and returned as found.
I'm doing a bit of a tiki tour of the upper North Island with matagouri. We parked up the campervan and jumped on the bikes to pick up a as many as we can over a couple of days. Having revived with coffee.... many, many coffee's, food and sleep over night, we've launched another attack this morning .A nice quick find, fairly close to where we had been camping. Thanks for putting this here
Checked today whilst passing. Cache is still there all fine at present, although the supporting structure is a little worse for wear and could end up being replaced sometime in the future.
Unfortunately cache was missing again, so have replaced with a more sturdy example. Please be sure it is secure before leavng.
Nope missed this one. Checked some likely hiding spots. May not have done so carefully enough if the lid is missing. Another time.
today the Jnr Cacher had her eyes on point as she spied this after i already past by this spot
A nice quick find. Note, the lid to the continer is no more. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are on the road again, up "North" to visit family an friends. Today cruised around Whangarei. The odd torrential downpour and and then sunny skies!Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
I'm back in New Zealand for the first time in four and a half years. I e been running around like a mad thing since I got here, so having a more chilled day today. Off for a walk with mum and noted a couple of caches to search for. A quick search here and the cache is in hand. Tftc
Accio 11:51:29On our much anticipated first real holiday together with T4mmmy - and we have traveled to the far far north - a whole new world - and now heading back south to Auckland. After such a lovely sunny day yesterday - the weather caught up to us today - but we were mostly driving so no worries. Got all the way out here and picked this one to stop and check out the headlands. Got pretty wet searching but it became a matter of pride (and maybe 15 minutes meticulous hunting) before cache was in hand. No idea how I missed that the first hundred looks. FP for the hunt - clever! (swear words have been redacted)Thanks 0B80B8 for entertaining me at this location. *{Overall find #11627}*
Found with Pprime`, on our amazing holiday. Today was driving from Paihia to Piha and in to Auckland. Despite the driving rain we made the stop here and I was starting to think we were roosting here ourselves before P` finally went eureka! (Or words like that).
We had enjoyed another Seagull Roost cache on a previous trip, so were keen to attempt this one. Admittedly it did take us a little while to spot the hide here in the company of Team Welsh, but we got there in the end. TFTC
Heading north on a warm Sunday have a bit of caching time tftc. Ccap fell off. And. Down did not refind
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Cheers, Cympull.
Tried to look inconspicuous in finding this hide and think I succeeded but am mortified that in getting the lid off the container I snapped some of it off (not enough to expose the log to the elements). It has become a bit fragile while at the same time so snug it was difficult to remove. Apologies. Thanks for placing and adding to our caching adventure today 0B80B8.
Went for a bike ride this afternoon with a mate to collect a few caches along the way. Great wee hide along the water front . TFTC
Another good one. Thanks! Was a bit damp, so we dried it on the Geomobile bonnet in the hot sun!
While I was out doing the new Ad Lab R.O.A.R. Onerahi, I collected this newish cache too. Very little traffic down on beach road today. Easy find at GZ as the container was protruding from its spot, I have returned it and pushed it into place. TFTC.
Back in January 2018 I found GC46 down in Wellington, and about the same time became aware of the challenge cache GC325CX requiring the logging of the top 10 oldest caches in the North Island. Since then I have been slowly working my way towards completing this challenge, and as of April this year I was down to just one more cache required. My trip to Whangarei this weekend was all about finding GC366 to complete this challenge. Obviously I was gonna find some other caches while I was here, and this was one of them.
Did not take long to spot and retrieve this sneaky hide. Did take a bit longer to return it. All good here.
Thanks to 0B80B8 for placing this cache here.

Out this evening to search for a cache or two for the 20th August Geocaching Day record attempt. The three caches on Beach Road were close to home so looked good for a quick caching expedition just before dark.
Liz was navigating with the GPS while I was making sure we avoided the locals out walking on this fine evening. There was hope that this would be successful and we could gain a smiley after the DNF on the earlier Seagull Roost cache.
As GZ came into view we spotted something that looked like it could be a place for a cache. Parking the cache cruiser in the nearby parking place, one of the advantages of a late evening hide is the lack of muggles driving around, we headed for the likely hiding place. Liz was successful this time and her finger nails quickly had the cache out of it's hole. Number 2 for the evening and we decided on another search for the earlier DNF on the way home.

We had been climbing Mt Manaia and doing an Ad Lab....but still had time for these 3 trads on the way to our Airbnb to clean up for the Dinner Event !
Sneaky but didn't foil Mrs Jag!

Heading home from exploring Whangarei Heads, we detoured to Onerahi to find a few caches. It was very cold and windy along the shoreline today, so we were pleased it didn’t take long too
long to spot this well camouflaged little cache. TFTC

Stopped off here while getting some Ad Lab answers in the area. Another nicely hidden cache in a lovely location. Thanks
Had to lurk at GZ while some people ambled past. Looked out at the view, trying to contain the kids excitement when they could see the cache but weren't allowed to grab it initially! TFTC
Another fantastic park and grab camo cache by 0B80B8, quick one to end the day after caching on the Waimahanga Track
Whilst finding some caches along the Waimahanga track we decided to make a short detour on our way home to get this cache. Quick park and grab. TFGC.
The seagulls must have flocked off to roost somewhere else tonight which left the coast clear for us. Nice hide 0B80B8. TFTC # 18,331
Isis58 and I are on a whirlwind geotour trip but also picking up caches that fit other challenges that we are working on including the Rangitoto Island Geo Licenses which we currently need a number of night caches so each night on this trip we are out caching till very late to help with the challenge. Unfortunately that means we are missing the view here but it is nice and quiet at this time of night. Didnt take long to find, thanks for placing 0B80B8

We caught up with Ed and the family at their home and they suggested we head to Onerahi to enjoy the park facilities and area along with a picnic. Afterwards we walked along the front and I fired up the phone and spotted a cache nearby. After corralling the 4 kids under 5 years old between us adults Ed made the nicely concealed hide. 3TF on an 'away' cache was pleasing, no pen today (which is very unusual for us) but found and replaced regardless.
Today we are heading up to Whangarei area to catch up with our son and hid family so a break from cleaning and scrubbing and a welcome change of scenery. Just 3 cache finds, but all good and weather and company were awesome.
Heading North for the weekend as we are moving house soon and our current Auckland rental needs a tidy up and garden sorted with stringent rules and standards to be met before handover. I have a few days off to head up and help out before heading down to Manawatu again, then back up again on Sunday before a Monday morning handover. Lots of kms done and with fuel at those prices???!!! Thanks to all COs for their caches over these last few days.

1492. 11:32 am. Sniped for the FTF by 15 minutes. A very well hidden geocache. TFT(seagull)C
[FTF] 11.15am Decided to head out this way and get a few caches. Saw this one pop up earlier in the morning. Did not feel like heading out early so made the mid morning trek. Got to GZ and searched for a bit couldn't see it. Headed down to try and soon spotted it from a different angle - very well camouflaged. got the log out and noted it was still blank. yay. Signed and replaced the sneaky cache. TFTC
I was in town for the Love Whangarei Monthly Clean Up (cito to us Geocachers) at the railway station today. I'd seen this roost one cache published this morning so I came early for a first to find attempt. I was extra pleased to see another one published nearby before I left home too.
The sea was lovely and flat this morning as I took a photo to hide my hunting.
So annoyed by my caching blindness.
I would have been first but I just couldn't spot it. Came back after the cito with Kan0e and we had been pipped at the post. A very well camouflaged hide. My school friend lived in Onerahi so I spent many weekenks out this way as a teenager. Thanks for bringing me back to this lovely area that I already have many chaotic smiles in, lol
