Found after a wet walk around Benalla when a seat was greatly appreciated! Sitting on a seatWith nothing to eatLooking over to the galleryDreaming of a calorie!Hope that is what is required never having read Dr Seuss!!TFTC

I ventured to Benalla, with caching in mind,And what did I find there? A sight most refined!A structure so Gaudi, so wavy, so bright,It danced in the sun with a whimsical light. The curves and the colors, the patterns that play,They whispered, Stay longer! Dont hurry away.No treasure to open, no box to unlock,Just beauty and wonder around every block.I gazed at the details, the twists and the swirls,A marvel of art for all boys and all girls.I took a quick photo (instructions were clear),And smiled at the joy of the journey brought here.So thank you, dear hider, for leading me toThis Gaudi-like wonder of textures and hues.A virtual cache, and a memory made,Of art and of whimsy that never will fade.

I wore my best shoes that I have with me for this photoshoot. I'm travelling, so the selection (3) to choose from is moot. In Dr Seuss' words, "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose."In the bowels of this building, ukulele players were practicing . Also found a swimming mural nearby interesting. As an architecture enthusiast, I see parallels to the Benalla Art Mural or sculptural play space / installation to the work is Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona - especially his Guell Park (Palau Gell). To meet the logging requirements here is my Dr Seuss rhyme:While a cache should not be in a houseNor ever hidden with a mouse,A Virtual could be hidden there,Cause Virtuals can be anywhere!I do not like green eggs and ham,But even worse is lots of Spam! (Emails!)

#20823 - 12:33:29 PM; After nearly a month away from home in Melbourne and then Tasmania, it is time to head for home. After exiting suburbia and hitting the highway, we took a short detour in to Baddaginnie to collect an earthcache, the into Benalla for this virtual. Managed to avoid the school group near GZ while I grabbed a snap. Now heading to the Bakehouse in Glenrowan! TFTC Chewinprickles Smile

Is this art?... we wonderAnd have a seat,Next take a shot of our feet,The arty question then we ponder,Not an easy task,And have a sip, straight from the cask.

Found by Mary and David at 12:10. We found seven of dak's (not Dak's) "Yes, but is it art?" series, and have some of our Ad Labs similarly named in his honour. We have also taken Team BGF's advice and played the thongaphone. A special place. Today, the ideal seats were fenced off, so we had to make do with what was accessible:We took a seat and snapped our feet,we knew dak well, and miss his counsel,he asked if it was art, or just a false-start, Dear Jenny and Howard, you sure aren't cowards,A gorgeous day so we're out to play,Home by tonight, then the housework, right?Love and best wishes from us, and a FP. Our thanks to Chewinprickles.

We arrived in Benalla with only time to find one cache. We decided we wanted to see the art work here as early in our caching life we had enjoyed Dak's Emu Mob's Yes, but is it art . We sat at GZ and discussed the art work around us. ThenOne y's tassie readThis is what the CO saidIn the photo our feet must showThe other y's one said no, no, no!That can't be soOh yes it is our feet that must be,Out there in our photo for all to seeSo down one satAnd that is thatThanks for this cache ChewinpricklesWe liked your theme it really tickles

Mrs Woodyrothwell and I are staying in Wangaratta for the week and decided to spend the afternoon on a drive down to Benalla. We walked the Main Street checking out the shops and the op-shop. Im not sure why we checked out the op-shop because we didnt have any room in our suitcases for the flight home.Is it art or is it a fart?Theres something to build when the budgets not filled.Lets make it look strange so nothing will change. Why use a straight line when theres plenty of wine.Lets sit in the grass and get a wet arse. Then take a snap, and tap, tap, tapIts hard to make rhyme when you had many beerstftc

In this blend of adventure and artistic grace,A foot selfie captures the thrill of the chase. For in Geocachers quest, where paths depart,Theres beauty in both the hunt and the art. They snap a foot selfie, a whimsical feat,A blend of the real and the virtual meet.In this fusion of art, where boundaries blur,They cherish the moment, a memory to stir. Thanks Chewinprickles for bringing us here today.

We are on the way to Canberra for the MEGA Easter 2024 via Victoria. We stop for sightseeing and caches. When we reached Benalla, we were amazed by the beautiful roses, the green area and decided to stop.Yes, it's art for me, the mosaic! I loved it! As I didn't grow up with Dr Seuss, I am not sure what his style is. I try:It doesn't matterif I write a letter.I hurry to log this cache, as I am on the way to Canberra's Geobash.Oh course the photo as requested is attached.Tftc chewinprickles

14-Mar-24
The Adelaide Leap Day Mega and Canberra Geobash gave us a great excuse for a road trip. This trip has shown us so many new and interesting places as weve chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites.Meeting up with friends old and new along the way, we sometimes cached together and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Today we made our way from Broadford to Wangaratta, stopping at anything that caught our eye along the way. These turned out to be all wonderful caches. But when I tell everyone where I've been And what I think I've seen,They look at me and sternly say, Your eyesight's much too keen. Stop telling such outlandish tales. Now, what can I say when I get home today?Well, I took a photo here so people believe me when I say that I saw it on Mair St.Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache and adding to our enjoyment.

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.between Canberra and Melbourne, we take a few breaks to discover some sites Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful spots

By the river in Benalla, on a warm Sunday so fine,Lies a place where art lovers flock to dine. With colors so vibrant, and sculptures so grand,It's a paradise of creativity, across the land.Down the winding path, by the water's gentle flow,Where the trees sway softly, to and fro. There stands a gallery, a haven for the soul,Where art comes alive, to make us whole. With every stroke of paint, and every chisel's touch,The artists' visions, they eagerly clutch. They capture the beauty, the essence of the scene,In a masterpiece so stunning, it feels like a dream.Visitors stroll, with wonder in their eyes,As they gaze upon works that seem to riseFrom the depths of imagination, to the world so true,In this magical place, where creativity brews. So let's wander and wonder, on this warm Sunday day,In Benalla's art haven, where hearts find their way.For by the river, amid nature's embrace,We discover the beauty of art's endless grace. Thanks ChewinpricklesDomsky

In a world so whimsical, take a look if you please,
A structure so beautiful, your sense it will tease.
It reminds you of Dr. Seuss, with its playful, wavy view,
But to me, it's more like Gaudí's, sui generis, unique and true.

Oh, the hands that crafted this, in creative harmony,
A symbol of unity and love, for all the world to see.
So let us celebrate this art, so whimsical and grand,
A testament to creativity, crafted by many a skilled hand!

A cache is a cache
No matter how small,
How strange, how difficult,
We've found them all!
We've found them all,
Because we are clever,
And we never give up,
No never, never, never!

Mystery cacher chasers have brains in our heads. Traditional cacher chasers have feet in our shoes. Multi cacher chaser get steered in any direction the CO can choose. We're on our own, and we know what we know. And we are the cachers who'll decide where to go.

This sculpture has been a popular lunch stop with the kids over the years. A fantabulous blend of Seuss and Gaudi.

I can cache on a boat.
I can cache and leave a note.

I can cache on a train.
I can cache in the rain.

I can cache wearing socks.
I can cache and find a box.

I can cache with scouts.
I can cache outside my house.

I can cache here or there,
I can cache anywhere!

We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love (caching). Dr Seus.

Thanks Chewinprickles for the fun location and log theme!

Congratulations on your award nomination.

I was heading up this way to catch up with friends and to camp out with them at Broken Creek for the weekend.
After staying in Benella for the night Beechworth is my destination for the day before heading back to Broken Creek and met up with the rest of the gang.
The weather has not improved much so it looks like it might be a wet camping weekend away.
Found a spot to sit and took the required pic and now off to the next one.

I found the spot.
And I took my shot.
Took in the view.
But didn’t have to queue.
I am who I am.
But am I really who that I am.
This makes no sense.
So quit the nonsense.
I’m no poet.
And don’t I know it.

Thanks Chewinprickles TFTVC.

We only called at this one as we were getting some lunch nearby and spotted a virtual that we couldnt pass by.

This wasn't a normal trip to the mainland to got to a Mega it was a trip to catch up with a good mate that couldn't keep up with the pace in Tassie when he lived there so moved back Wink
This was a trip for gooseandegg and myself to meet up with 1Toolman and have a long weekend caching in the North of Vic to try and help him fill his D/T grid, we knew we couldn't fill it but thought we could get close and we did well finding 10 out of the 14 we were targeting. Hope he finds the time to find the last few soon.

Thanks for the cache.

I'd been here with the toolman before but he had no memory of it. Today we retuned with SSR and had a delicious toastie and coffee here before taking out shot.
Thanks Chewinprickles

Stainless steel rat and I agreed we needed to catch up with our old mate 1TOOLMAN for a weekend so we made a plan to fly over and help fill in a couple of holes in his D/T grid. We managed to fill 10 out of 14 before running out of time. I think he's got the urge to continue and make it happen.

I do like blue,
It’s blue I like,
This day is blue,
Flick the switch I might!

23 year have passed and the game’s going on,
Thanks to the blue switch that was switched on this day
Carry on!

I grabbed the brats and made some tracks
To find a place to roam
I took a seat and showed my feet
And now have to walk home

Heading home from Mega and stopped to do this one on the way....

It's been years and years,
Since my eyes and ears,
Had last partook,
of a Dr Suess book,

I'm no poet,
And I know it,
So even with a peotic lack,
This mission I'll have a crack...

Saw that Gaudi,
Stopped at Aldi,
Bought a lot of tiles,
And laid them out for miles!

There’s a virtual on offer
If you can bother
To go down the path
now you’ve got to laugh
At the Gaudi like chair
Where you must sit and stare
Now put up your feet
For a photo - that’s sweet
Now log your find
With your geocaching sign

The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]Big Grin

Today started off wet when we left Wangaratta heading in a round about way to Bendigo finding caches in a different LGA and others that we had targeted, but thankfully the rain stopped around lunch time which was good. Cool

It was wet here but did stop raining long enough to get the photo and have a look around. Cool

Thanks for the cache Chewinprickles. Smile

Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

A photo I will take.
For the cache log’s sake.

I found your D1.5/T1.5 Virtual Virtual called Benalla Ceramic Mural, (Yes but is it art?) on 12 April 2023. It was find #18250 for me. Thank you Chewinprickles for placing this cache for our enjoyment in the wonderful state of Victoria.

**Find #5363**
**Virtual Find #51**

I found a cache today, but it was not a box.

It was a virtual cache, at a place with lots of rocks.

I had to answer questions, about the things I saw

Like the color of a sign, and the name of a bird that cawed.

I sent my answers quickly, to the cache owner by email

And then I got a reply, that said "well done, you did well".

I logged my find online, and gave a favorite point

Then I took some pictures, at this scenic joint.

I thanked the cache owner, for this fun and educational quest

And then I went on my way, feeling happy and impressed.Big Grin

**Thank-you to Chewinprickles for placing this geocache**

Rutherglen Mega - Easter 2023 - Day 5: Tuesday

Spent the day on a loop trip around Corowa, Yarrawonga, Benalla and Wangaratta.

Stopped in at this Virtual. An interesting mural here.

A suitable Dr. Seuss quote -
From there to here,
and here to there,
funny things
are everywhere.

The things we find
While driving the line.
‘Oh my, what a huge piece of art.’
‘Fancy that’ said the man in the hat.

Thanks heaps for leading us here.

We've been at the Rutherglen mega, and headed this afternoon to Bendigo, we didn't have alot of time, so prioritised trigs and virtuals, and maybe any *really* cool DTs for the trip.
Another cool virtual, we parked and walked in. Samuel loved the passages and little alcoves for sure.
“I will do the virt. Yes I will do the virt!
And so,” said the Boy in the Hat, “So so so …
I will show you another good virtual cache that I know!”

Poem about Woody our geodog using ChatGPT

Oh the places Woody did roam,
With his nose to the ground, he'd roam and he'd roam.
He searched high and he searched low,
For a treasure that was hidden, he had to go.

He followed the clues, he sniffed the air,
He knew that the cache was near, oh so near!
Through fields and forests, he ran with glee,
For he knew that he was so close, he could see.

And then at last, he saw it there,
The geocache he'd been seeking, without a care!
He barked and he jumped, his tail wagging fast,
For he knew he'd found the treasure, at last.

He pawed at the box, he gave it a lick,
And then he opened it up, oh so quick.
Inside were trinkets, treasures to behold,
And a logbook to sign, as the story is told.

With a paw print and his name, Woody wrote down,
That he'd found the geocache, without a frown.
He left a toy and took a key,
And then he set off, oh so free.

For Woody the dog had found his treasure,
And he knew that the hunt was his greatest pleasure.
So if you're ever out geocaching too,
Remember Woody and his great adventure, so true!

While driving from Melbourne towards the mega I stopped by this site to grab a cache. Plans were to leave Melbourne by 11, but due to car troubles it was more like 2.30 so the plans to go to certain caches had to be revamped.

This cache was found instead which was a great bonus.

Very happy to be heading to another Mega so Fleabag- had organised some stops along the way to help with some challenges we were chasing and this was one of those caches.
It was nice to have a few stops and take a break from the monotony of the highway.
Thanks Chewinprickles for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
