As of today this has got to be one of my favorite sculptures ! Just so realistic and sitting down beside John and SusieQ feels entirely comfortable. I feel he must have been indeed a friendly man. Thanks for bringing me here. Off to try find the final location in the $14 million dollar sculpture nearby multi. .
Was out on a lovely day. I didn't even know this was here! See R5 post for photo. Thanks for bringing me here.
Found by a woman and someone else's dog who were out for a walk by the lake. Someone else's dog wasn't too sure about this metallic dog... low growling ensued even though there is no way she could (or likely would) take on anything that big. Required information submitted.
A home to Canberra to Wagga to home, overnight loop trip. I finished work on Friday afternoon and filled up the Ute drove over to Canberra. Along the way I made one stop off and found an AL which had been on the to-find-list for far too long. KFC for dinner tonight. After my night sleep, I left the motel early and went and got Bfast. I then headed over to Old Parliament House which is near todays first event. I found as many caches as possible before driving over to the parking area for the event. Ill be back to get the rest that I didnt find, at some point. After finding a parking spot, which took forever, I headed over to the event location. I was the first to arrive and the first to leave. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. While leaving the event, most of the rest of the group decided on finding the new cache near the parking area. I signed it first and that was because I was headed to Wagga for another event. I said goodbye and headed off for my drive to Wagga. I arrived just about 20 minutes after the second event started. That was a good trip to Wagga. For lunch I had an 'Outback Parmi'. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. Then I started in the home bound direction which took me along some back roads to a new cache in the middle of nowhere. A FTF on this cache and now time to get home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs and TFTCs! Answer sent to CO. Photo to be upload shortly. Thanks for the cache.
Hi Tealby, We found your 1.0 1.0 Virtual Virtual A man and his dog... on 26/9/2024.Find 3148 for BFMC.A school holiday road trip to Sydney for a bit of a break. Targeting unfound virtuals for this trip and whatever else we come across that we can sneak off and find given we have a mix of cachers and non cachers.A nice little homage here, took some time to take in the information on the sign and grab the required photo, nice and quiet here given the working day had not long ended.
Found with Dad on our holiday. I have a sausage dog but he is at home.Answers sent by BFMC.
Find # 1274115/9/2024 Met up with a muggle friend for a B2B chalk (chat walk) and then decided to follow this with a bit of caching as there are some new ones in the area as we dont frequent these parts as much as I used to. we loved this All finds very straightforward here today, and caches in good condition. Thanks Tealby for A man and his dog...
TFTC Tealby for placing this cache, number 14714 for me. Thanks also for the very prompt confirmation that I'd managed to photograph the correct thing!Visited a couple of months back while over for the Canberra Mega and spent a very enjoyable morning with TrinityNZ walking around the area, gathering information, before heading off to see the deep space station - so a very appropriate bit of info to record! Greetings from Wellington New Zealand.
My morning walk took me to Old Parliament House and so I visited a few AdLabs and Virtual Caches. This was the first. Have visited this sculpture before and so knew what to expect. Quickest response ever for a message!TFTC Tealby
Hanging out with a dog and his politician. Just goes to show dogs arent all that judgemental about what you do, focusing more on who you are. Thanks for the cache Tealby
Goldy is visiting Canberra with my friend "goldyscacheelf" for caching, museums and history.I have taken my foot off the pedal recently when it comes to caching. However, I have never been to the ACT before so the Territory is my cache oyster.I'm targeting the virtuals and highly favourited caches around the area.I did mostly caching today before heading back to the War Memorial again.A very nice statue. Loving seeing all these during my trip. I sent the answers and have attached the photo below. Thanks for bringing me here! Thanks Tealby for this virtual cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 4177 on the 14th of July 2024.
1328 for the tribeWe spent this afternoon virtual hunting in the Parliamentary Triangle. Couldn't quite get through them all in the time we had, but 8 virtuals is not bad, we thought. A big thankyou to the COs for showing us places we had never seen before, for showing us the history of Australia and for giving us a good excuse for a good walk.We liked this one. We liked the dog , and the info panels are great. He sounds like a teriffic Australian who persevered through great adversity. Thanks for placing this one!
Day 23 of my interstate trip. Today was my second day in Canberra and made my way around the Parliament House area on foot picking up what I could while doing a few tourist things as well.. I managed to find 20 caches today and only 1 DNF.A cool sculpture but not a fan of the Building it is in front of it feels to me like a Soviet Russia style building no real stunning features but thats just my opinion someone who understands Architecture would probably disagree.TFTC Tealby
This is a great representation of a natural and lovely aspect of a prime minister not commonly represented. Something very different to what is normally depicted. It was a full day today. With rain predicted for the day earlier in the week we had booked into the War Memorial. It was a really worthwhile visit and unlike our normal choice, we chose to take a guided tour. Our guide was a lovely man who was most knowledgeable, and had a store of great anecdotes. After finishing we headed outside to work on Ad Labs and some caches, trads, multis and puzzles. Then it was off to Old Parliament House where we "maintained the Rage" and then cached until heading off to a Winter Solstice Event.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Tealby.**SKI Pair****
My last night of Covid isolation, Ive waited until late in the evening when no one is around, and worn a mask anyway. What a great sculpture! The fact that it was life-sized and raising realistically-proportioned made sitting beside it slightly freaky, actuallyAnyway, thanks for the cache, Tealby
Another interesting artwork to visit in lovely Canberra. There is so much to see.Answer sent to CO, and photo posted below. Not a great one, as it was a selfie, but hopefully it does the trick. Thanks for the virtual cache, and for bringing me here.
Day 7 of mogni and sir_spectre visit the ACT. Today we tackled the many, many city caches. We parked at Parliament House and started walking and walking and walking. It was another beautiful day and lots of people out and about enjoying it.We really only stopped so we could attend a local event and saw few a familiar faces. As per normal if a cache needed a bit of love, it got it. Sir_spectre has sent answers on my behalfThanks to Tealby from mogni
Today was all about Capital Hill and the area to the lake. About 10 km walked today ( at least ). Adventure labs, virtuals, earthcaches, multis, wherigo and trads plus the odd puzzle were targeted on the walk. some we just didn't have the time for. We walked for over 8 hours. Some interesting history was sighted along the way. Logging with permission. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
I was in Canberra for the night while traveling home after picking up a wiz bang telescope for my son in Parramatta. The Canberra stop over was my treat for doing the drive for him, so a few key caches were on my to do list.I had checked into my Hotel and had clean up before hitting the caches I wanted. Being a nice quiet evening with parking easy I took advantage of the plethora of Virtuals on offer to get me closer to my 100th Virtual cache. Thank you Tealby for the Virtual
Since I'm in Canberra for Mega, I've enjoyed seeing many places as well as the warm weather.fav from me. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache Tealby.
Still in Canberra after the Geobash and wandered past your virtual. Snapped the required pic and sent answer to CO, fulfilling our logging requirements. Thanks Tealby for creating this virtual and highlighting this location.
It is amazing how many sculptures are in such a concentrated area. Thanks for taking us to this one with this cache placement.
This is another of the sculptures that we visited whilst in Canberra. I don't often go into Melbourne but I don't think we have anywhere near this many. Great to learn new things which we did with this cache. Thanks.
Streak Day #3920 - Stopped by with Dave8153 for a quick visit whilst in the area for the CAPITAL GEOBASH. TFTV
4 April 2024This is find number: 9566Streak Day: 3031Found Today with Snoopy1976, stopped by tonight for a quick virtual. ThanksThanks to Tealby for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTCAnswer has been sent
My last day in Canberra after attending the Capital GeoBash. Woo Hoo I found 'A man and his dog ... ' today while I wondered around the Old Parliamant House area. Thanks for a great cache Tealby, if it wasn't for caching, I may have ignored this statue without finding it and realising the importance of it. PS: The Troll Dolls [TN6TR0] were with me on my great caching adventures today
We have driven past this sculpture a number of times and recognised the person. Today, we enjoyed stopping here to read a bit more and then to do a bit more of our own homework on Prime Minister Gorton. A lovely placement of a virtual. Answers sent to CO. Thanks Tealby Domsky
We explored the city a bit, taking in views, visiting new spots (Old Parliament House Gardens, Blundells Cottage) and statues - doing some caching as well.We sent the answer to CO and got the ok.Tftc Tealby
Thanks for the virtual Tealby.Visiting Canberra over Easter to see my son and daughter-in-law, and to attend the Capital Geobash. With the family back at work today, I decided to do some 'touristy' things, so off to the parliamentary triangle. So much to see here. Required photo attached.
Found on a typical Autumn day. In the area for the Mega and a few more caches of course. Not many muggles around and another good find . Answer sent and pic attached. Fav point added. Thanks for the cache Tealby, ***Roostaman***
Day #8 Geobashing It was our last day in Canberra, so OzHockeyChick and I made a must do list all over Canberra for our last day. We werent going to let the weather stop us.A short stop here to give the pooch a pat and take a happy snap.A big thanks goes to Tealby for taking the time to add A man and his dog... to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Eight: More caches of interest around Canberra, focussing on Virtuals and AdLabs due to the inclement weather today.A quick stop here to take obligatory pics and find the info - now submitted. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Tealby ??~????????~
Well it is Canberra Geobash Mega time and Im spending 6 nights up here on the Mega site and also the ACT has put on some brilliant weather for us so far during the day.Well it is day 4 for me and it was a very fresh and chilly start to the morning for the 5am event.Back to the Mega site for a coffee then I was going to start with finding a few Virtuals for a challenge cache.Left site as the sun was coming up to beat the crowds. There was also plenty of parking around at this time of the morning.Plenty of people are starting to arrive in the area for a walk or maybe a coffeee.Still very foggy around here this morning and you could just make out the lake.I tried having a chat with John but he was a bit pre occupied with Susie Q to talk to me.He was happy enough to let me take his photo. Thanks Tealby TFTVC.
Found It!Stopped here for a quick photo today. Nice little monument.TFTC
Always a fan of this man, his dog the singer. Love it. Also love the photo location. Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks Tealby and clear skies from TeamAstro. ?? Cache the planet! ?? Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Now chasing caches around Canberra for the Easter 2024 Geobash, signing as TAD which encompasses Tenkae, Astro and Deanside. Enjoying great company and the different aspects of our Commonwealth Capital. What a great statue Thanks Tealby for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy.
Day 7 of our Capital Geobash mega-holiday. And for the first day since we arrived, there were no events or tours to rush off to, so we had a leisurely day to ourselves. We chose to return to the Parliamentary Precinct to complete caches and labs that we didn't have time to do earlier in the week, taking advantage of the easier access and parking due to the Easter Monday public holiday. It was only this time last year when Chook and her friend WendyB158 were in Canberra to do the Centennial Trail. Wendy had had her kelpie Izzy with her and we of course had taken multiple photos of Izzy with Suzie Q. No Izzy today, but it was an easy park nearby to complete this Virtual Cache with nobody else around. TFTVC Tealby
Im in Canberra for the Geobash mega and decided to ride around the city on my pushbike this morning while its quiet. This is a really lovely statue that I didnt know existed. So thank you for bringing me here. Answers sent and photo attached.

Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Headed into the city again with the bikes on the back of the geocruiser as it's a publich holiday, making parking a bit easier.Bumped into Ian&Sue-Team Pathfinder, Lachlan1.77, weirdobiker, TeamAstro, Crystalfairy and barefootguru on the hunt today. Then off to the CITO to round out our busy day.TFTC Tealby
Found by The Empire + HOn a warm and sunny day in Canberra, we set out to explore the Menzies Walk around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was delightful, with the sun casting its golden rays upon us and a gentle breeze providing relief from the warmth. However, with the sun beating down and the temperature rising, we quickly realised the importance of staying hydrated. Armed with plenty of water bottles, we began our walk along the scenic pathway, taking in the stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The shimmering waters of Lake Burley Griffin stretched out before us, inviting us to immerse ourselves in its beauty. As we made our way along the Menzies Walk, the heat became more intense, and the need for water became increasingly apparent. We made frequent stops to quench our thirst, taking sips of cool, refreshing water to keep ourselves hydrated and energised for the journey ahead. Despite the warm weather, the beauty of our surroundings never failed to captivate us. We marvelled at the lush greenery along the shoreline, the colourful blooms that dotted the pathway, and the sight of sailboats gliding gracefully across the water. Thanks for the cool virtual Tealby!-MVirtual #232
???? Fount It ???? and another smiley to boot. Out caching with *Throsbyonchurch* and *Little Panther*. Thanks for the Virtual cache **A man and his dog...**, *Tealby*. ??DustyJaperJet ??
Found 6:03pm - coming to Canberra to cache when there is hardly anyone out on the roads is the absolute best !!! Enjoyed the Virtual.Unfortunately we didn't make it to the best bits of the **2024 Canberra Geobash**. Most disappointed. Easter snuck up on me. I have been so busy working I didn't give too much thought to Easter. I was told a couple of days beforehand that Easter is this weekend. Imagine my shock !! While I am privileged to be able to say I am not working X number of days, I felt somewhat obligated not to say so at such short notice. Nevertheless, we got here in the end. Although we didn't get much done relating to actual cache finding, we did get some *Adventure Labs* and *Virtuals*. Always enjoy roaming around Canberra. TFTH *Tealby*.
We stay for a week in Canberra with TBU1BIKESU for the MEGA 2024.We are stopping for some smileys. We found this cache and signed the log. Thanks for the cache to the CO.
Answer submitted to CO.Lovely monument of the man and his dog. Took the obligatory photo and gave the pup a quick pat.Thank you Tealby for the Virtual.
TFTC.....In Canberra for a few days to enjoy the Mega and grab a few caches on the way. frilk and I had spent the morning walking through the bush, so we decided to have a more refined afternoon wandering around Old Parliament House. Up at the Canberra geobash and today with the family was a touristy and fun day with a few virtuals here and there and this was one of them. This place was deserted. Thanks Tealby for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
Find # 8,756 for me on 31 Mar 2024 at 3:36pm. This cache was found on our Canberra Mega adventure. We loved the Statue. Found with PamJ. Thanks Tealby, for giving back to the game. *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. Answer sent to CO and obligatory photo is attached. Thank you Tealby, for placing A man and his dog... for the geocaching community.# # #14336 # #
Mr CNQ was on 3-day caching frenzy in the Capital coinciding with the Mega event. Don't usually night cache but had a go at a few virtuals and lab cache stages, with varying degrees of success. This was one of the more discernable photos in a well lit area. Thanks for the virtual cache and greetings from north Queensland.
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Tealby! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

The city looks quite interesting the way it is built, looking forward to explore the parliament and all the other institutions within the triangle. Came here after the visit of the parliament. Read the information and took a photo. Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo

The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)
In Canberra attending the Mega event. Initially, I had planned to come alone. However, my son decided that he wanted to come as well. We arrived Thursday night ready to start early on Friday. Friday morning, we registered and received our goodies bag... first, my son had to complete the Bingo card and set to work asking everyone he saw if they could fill in something. Within an hour, he had completed the whole card.Next, he spotted the Space Hunt and declared that this would be our next challenge. He decided that we needed to complete the whole card. So off we set to collect 3 each of 8 different types of caches. After having dinner with a friend this evening, we set out to complete the last 3 spaces on the card... the virtuals. This was our last virtual to collect and the final piece to our space hunt. We had a bit of fun dressing up the statue with our glasses before searching for the information nearby. I started looking in the wrong direction... clearly late night caching is a bit of a challenge. But we found what we needed in the end. TFTC
Not sure if the Gorton family would have been impressed with the car park location but it is a nice statue. Thanks for bring me here.
Found during the Capital GeoBash Mega weekend.Stopped in at this Virtual. An interesting spot here. TFTV
