Found, wazza9 has sent answer. Thanks for bringing us here. I have seen some beautiful silo art in Victoria, too many to name.
TFTC,Out and about building my LGA's find count. We had a bit of fun here but being visitors to Melbourne can't say what our favourite street art is. Visited trackables
Thanks for this funny virtual, earns favo!We just arrived in Melbourne, so I don't have my favourite yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing different kind of sculptures during next days.
We came here after having dinner nearby. Thanks for bringing us here, we would probably not have known the mural was here otherwise! One of my favourites pieces of art that I have seen during our visit in Melbourne are the Australian Birds currently outside the National Gallery of Victoria with LED screens with multiple animated birds
Found on a trip to Melbourne. Favourite piece of public art is the Hosier street graffiti. SweetpeaOshea's find number 1248. 7 November 2024 20:54 Thank you for placing this cache and greetings from Wolverhampton, UK!
Olga and I visited this location after having a drink with a friend at a nearby pub. We are over from Adelaide to pick up our new camper. Earlier in the day we were at the Docklands, where there is an enormous piece of very Melbourne art, the Melbourne Star, the giant model of a Ferris wheel which does nothing but stimulate commentary and maybe generate a bit of emotion. Definitely art.
It was a wet and rainy day for my visit to this spot, where I gazed in wonder that such a wall had not been over painted or tagged. As I was visiting alone it was a bit of a juggle getting a photo, especially while standing on my hands ; )
TFTC:). Was here for a quick meal and noticed that there was a virtual nearby. A wonderful piece of art.I would say my favourite piece of public art in Victoria is located at Guildford lane otherwise known as Plant Alley. Its a piece of amazing art that incorporates some plants on the side. The painting stands out to me as its fun and full of different colours. Both my favourite piece of art and the art shown at coordinates at the virtual will be shown on the attached photo. C.C
I had a couple of hours to kill after I dropped a couple of my Daughters in the city to go to the musical Six. With that time of course I was going to grab a few caches. Virtuals are always high on my to do list but the traffic around the area was a nightmare the only park I could get was a good walk away. Once I made it to GZ I had to improvise to get the required photo. I managed to find somewhere to prop my phone and set the timer. One of my favourite pieces of art is on the side of a building near the wood chips in the Spirit of Tasmania's new home, Geelong. Especially the Otways waterfall sceneThank you sus Vulture for the Virtual
What an amazing mural. I have seen this art work before. My favourite art work is the ac/dc mural. Impressive stuff. I was contemplating recreating one of the more difficult photos but in the end went for the simplest. TFTC.
Thank you for sharing the story about Keith Haring and the humour in the murals survival - reminds me of the well preserved school desks from the years of hardened chewing gum holding them together underneath! Keith Haring's art is joyful and I have a bag printed in a similar design to this mural that I bought for the fun poses and bright colours! If you zoom in on my photo you may be able to see it.Today my acrobatic skills were put to the test as I tried to sneakily park here rather than battle the many Sunday session muggles but a car pulled in just as I went up to admire the artwork. I quickly commandeered a pedestrian gesturing to driver, that I just need a quick photo taken - he just gave me a smile and probably thought I was strange influencer or something until he saw me try to balance on one leg, do a little weird karate kid style move and rapidly turn beet red and hastily thanked the stranger for my photo before I retreated.
Visited today during our walks around Collingwood and Fitzroy. Great mural! We have some new murals recently painted in our home town in Leongatha, and we love the Silo Art Trail in Western Victoria. TFTC
Stopped by here after some events.Awesome to see it surviving so long...Answer sent to CO.Thanks again...
Visiting from New Zealand for work. I decided to visit this one as our hotel is nearby.I had spotted the mural on my walk back from work the other day and was pleased to learn a bit more about its history . Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
I was in the area today to drop off a camera lens for repair and noticed this virtual cache was not far away. This was interesting artwork and well worth seeing. The answer to the question has been sen to the CO. My artwork nomination is the Architectural Fragment located outside the State Library of Victoria. A photo showing our caching name is attached. Thanks to suss vulture for bringing me to the mural and the cache.
Found on another brief footy, family and friends trip to Melbourne and Geelong. I wanted to make an effort to catch the tram out to this one today, given the CO of this cache. I also wanted to visit the suburb of our opponents tonight to our 19th man. Buuulldogggs! A very cool mural, I can point to many reasons why the CO chose this spot for their Virtual Reward! Hopefully you enjoy my photo, all decked out in my Bulldogs clothes. TFTC suss vulture, see you very soon! EDIT: Oh, and my favourite public artworks in Victoria would have to be either the wine bottle in Rutherglen or the E.J. Whitten sculpture in Footscray! Both iconic!
The geokid has studied Keith Haring in art at school so was very excited to see this mural. Our favourite public art is probably Frankie the big silver garden gnome who used to overlook the freeway in Frankston. Tftc!
Nice, easy virtual at an interesting mural. My favourite artwork would have to be either the Jacinda Ardern silo mural in Brunswick or Monument Park in Docklands. TFTC
TFTC, such an awesome artwork! Favourite would be either this one or the mural of Jacinda Ardern on the silo in Brunswick.
We are in Melbourne for a week staying with family. Wandering past the mural today, we had to stop for this one. We havent visited any other public art in Victoria as of yet, so until we see some other items, we shall have to call this our favourite piece. (It is pretty cool however)Thanks suss vulture
I love Keith Haring! I regret not buying his 18,000 Ravensburger jigsaw of this picture: David and Simone
Greetings from Seattle! I am lucky enough to attend the Great Leap Forward Mega-Event in Adelaide with my fellow Lackey and best geo-buddy giacaches, and we hit the road to take the scenic route to get there. We'd been keeping our eyes peeled for Virtual Caches on this trip to help us with a challenge, and I was so glad when we ended up here! I've been learning more about Keith lately and it was fun to see a real art piece in person. Gia's photo is the qualifier, and I sent in the answer to the question!Cheers to your Virtual Reward, and thanks so much for adding to the trip!
Greetings from Seattle! I'm down under for the first time with jtcoffee to attend the Great Leap Forward in Adelaide. While here, we're naturally trying to pack in as much "bonus" adventure as possible, including (but not limited to) the following: Log our find finds in the southern hemisphere Find Lane Cove, Australia's Oldest Experience Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Sydney Drive the Great Ocean Road Visit the Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand Tackle a challenge cache requiring 31 Earthcaches, and 31 Virtuals in 31 days (GC32TBZ and GC32TC2) Answers have been sent (or will be soon) by jtcoffee. I think this is our 12th virtual of the trip thus far... woohoo! Thanks for placing this great virtual and thus contributing to our amazing experience in Australia!
After arriving in Melbourne we (Team Downunder24) discovered the city by looking for some caches. "Keith's Mural (Virtual Reward 3.0)" was one of our favorites of the day. Here we had have a little photo stop. A really big mural. Answer were sent. Thanks suss vulture for showing that mural
Attending a concert at the PBS studios to celebrate a birthday, of course we had to visit our cache, too.
What a fantastic cache! Thanks so much for bringing us here! Another excellent thing I wouldnt have seen (and walked nearby to) were it not for geocaching! So a fave point from me. My other favourite piece of art in Melbourne that Ive made a point of visiting is Rowland S Howard Lane. TFTC!
I had a lot of fun taking this photo and am so glad for this virtual cache as for without it this picture would not be!I know its not an exact replica I did get one that was closer but it didnt look as cool as this one!My favourite piece of Melbournes public art (that Ive seen today) is The Fairies Tree in the Fitzroy Gardens because it obviously took a lot of talent, skill, and patience to create and I love how it is dedicated to the children and the fairies Another artwork that I likely wouldnt have seen without caching!
What a great place to visit while strolling through the streets of Collingwood! Loved the information in the listing. Also good fun to scroll through previous logs and see which public artworks here in Melbourne people like the most! Of course I also do love the "Cow Up a Tree" in the Docklands and I find the "Vault" somewhat cool too. However, despite being not sure whether "Proxima Centauri - Solar System Trail" between Marina Reserve and Port Melbourne qualifies as "art", it is my #1 pick as I think it really deserves a mention here. Its a lovely walk and gives you a phenomenal perspective on how small our world is in the universe. Great cache, definitely gets a favourite from me! TFTC!!
On secondment to Melbourne, Australia, combined with short holidays here and there. Day 16/74, Tuesday. Another long and stressful workday so I needed to get something fun for the evening. I took a long walk and visited four geocaches. Unfortunately, I only found two of them. I visited this interesting spot too. A photo attached and an answer sent to the CO. My favourite piece of public art in Victoria... hmm, let's say the ones on the AC/DC line, so far! Thank you for the cache, and greetings from Vaasa, Finland! Logged with [GCDroid](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcdroid).
Came by after getting lunch at a nearby burger joint and was keen to get a cache or two. This is definitely one of my favourite murals in Melbourne and I love the artists style in it, and my wife was a big fan too. Other than this, my favourite artwork in Vic is the vertical train carriage sculpture just south of Southern Cross Station as I love how different and detailed it is. Thanks for bringing me here whilst in the area. TFTC!!! #2250
Found with gwd.aussie.Passed location on way to Brickvention but parking was a problem but we returned after taking in some amazing lego builds (sculptures in their own right) to make the find. Nominating my favourite piece of public art is hard but I must admit the cow in tree at Docklands does makes me smile. Thanks suss vulture for drawing my attention to this mural.
Spotted the wall on the way to the Lego event the the expo building, but couldn't find a parking spot.So after about four hours, we return to find a parking and read the sign and talk about the art.I like the art in Launceston mall. I add a photo of it when it found me.There was some great art at the Lego show too. (added a photo of one of them)On a caching run and Lego run with D@geothank you for the cache suss vulture
Found with Sharanyaexpress and the geocoach, raindoctor. After lunch at the nearby CIBI, we had to get this virtual. As a PBS supporter from Sydney, I was especially keen to see their new home at Collingwood Yards. This was a really enjoyable find tinged with sadness to read of Keith's short life. Thanks for the cache
On the occasion of Jomingara and SharanyaExpress visiting Melbourne we had the opportunity to get this cache after a fabulous lunch nearby! Thank you for bringing our attention to this historical mural. A great virtual!
Living nearby, I walk past here regularly. On joining Premium I found out there is a cache here! Thank you for this cache.
Nice wall.Well i found my favourite Muralpainting on the way walking here.2 austronauts in beerspaceCheck!
Venturing around town on a lime scooter! Late at night so less muggles and traffic to dodge! Managed around 15 finds with a few DNFs and a few scooter not allowed here A great night out and whilst these scooters would be a nightmare for the locals to have to deal with crazy interstaters like me on the roads theyre a great and cheap way to get from cache to cache! Thanks to the local COs for a great night out.
Out and about again, last day in Melbourne travelling about today grabbing more LGAs. Not sure how many I got today - the goal from this trip was to pass 200!I enjoy public art and my favourite art in Victoria was Geoffrey Bartlett and Bruce Armstrong, 'Constellation' (1996) - 5 totemsNext to Queens Bridge opposite the Crown on the bank of the Yarra River.I did also like the Library sinking into the ground, and the totem people down in Geelong.Found a variety of hides and in different areas which made for a nice day. Generally quick finds todayThanks to all the COs for the hides I found.
I needed a virtual for a particular challenge I'm fitfully working on and decided to fulfil the requirements of this particular virtual today. In the time I spent on site I saw 6 muggles appreciating the artwork. Clearly a very popular piece of public art! Thanks for drawing our attention to it, suss vulture.
We were heading into the Internation dining event in Melbourne with geoturtle37 and OzHockyChick and they said we have to do this cache. We were very impressed with the info on the cache page about the Keith Harding, of his world wide works and the history of this painting. We can't believe it has been here for 35 years and is still unvandalised. We took the required photo although not quite the same pose then went off to collect the required information. There is so much great art in Victoria but we think the silo trails are hard to beatMany thanks suss vulture for the very interesting virtual.
TFTC. I really like these virtual ones as the point to it landmarks I normally would not see.
Our favourite piece of public art would be the small penguins right next to luna park in st kilda. We used to live in that area and would always go passed and say hi Thanks for the virtual at an amazing lasting mural!
I do like the changing wall art in AC/DC and other laneways throughout the city. I have sent my answer. Thanks for drawing my attention to this mural. Im visiting from Perth and would not be aware of it otherwise.
What an amazing piece of artwork. Even more amazing is the fact that it hasn't been covered in graffiti in its 35 + years. Thanks for bringing me here to see something I was totally unaware of. I enjoy most of Melbournes Public Art so it is difficult to choose just one. I'll go for the artwork along the Sandridge Rail Bridge across the Yarra behind Flinders Station as it also tells a story of the cities residents.
We learned something today. Think this now our fave piece of public art.
I met some friends nearby for a social lunch today. Checking out the geocaching app, I noticed this cache which I would never have discovered on my own.
Lately I have been getting great pleasure from the arts, during my travels. There are several bird sculptures at Marriott Waters, Lyndhurst that have impressed me, and a walk around the Burwood campus of Deakin University is rewarding.
Thanks for showing me this work suss vulture. My friends enjoyed it too.

Stopped off to this virtual on my way up Nicholson st.
Took my pic, sent my answers to the CO and got the go ahead to log my visit to Keith’s mural.
I really like this mural for it fun nature and nice colours.

Special trip out today to collect this Virtual. You can tell by my face that I enjoyed completing the photo request. In hind sight that child's pose would have been good too.
Message with answers has been sent for approval and photo is coming.
Loved your connection with this artist and mural.
Thanks for the fun suss vulture

Great mural, driven past many time and never knew the story. I call Canberra home now so not a lot of exposure to Victorian public art, but I can remember the great debate in the late 70's over a sculpture called "The Vault" by the artist, but dubbed "The Yellow Peril" by Melbournians.
Stopping off prior to flying home to WA, found the mural while walking the streets for more art. My muggle partner was the poser here.
Answers sent to the CO!

Fave sculpture is 3 businessmen who brought their lunch on the corner of Bourke/Swanson, not least for the creative decorations I've seen on it. Been past this on the bus a lot, good to stop and take a look.
Favourite piece of public art in Victoria. To nominate one is hard, but I quite like the bronze statues dotted throughout the city. The worst but most memorable has to be the Yellow peril, memorable because it was often a meeting point while on school excursions as a child, but l wouldn't exactly call it art. For some reason, it reminded me of the yellow pages.
It has been quite a while since I have been in this area, but I must admit that I had not noticed this public art before.
Took a bit of time to examine it today, looking for the different motifs (took a while to notice the baby!)
Taking a photo of me in a pose when I was here by myself was tricky. I did attract a bit of attention from passers-by with my antics. Many of them then stopped and examined the artwork that they had not noticed either.
It seems this artwork had lasted longer than the artist.
There now is so much public art around, that it is hard to choose. There are some very nice pieces around home, and I do like the tram in Spencer st, but I think my favourite would have to be the Yellow Peril. Mainly for all the fuss it generated. It was nice to see it appear at different spots around the city.
Logged with permission from the CO.
Thank, Robmc.

Out with echidna44, with permission to log from CO. Our favourite piece of public art is the smarties along the Eastlink Freeway by James Angus. This was such a fun cache for us. Thanks for bringing us here!!
Out with pinnacle333, we came to this cache at night.
My all time favourite piece of art is at McClelland Sculpture Park, and is called Annulus by Ken Unsworth, where 15kg rocks are suspended in a circle by wires.
Logged with permission of CO. Included is a shadow pose in front of the mural.
Thanks for the fun, suss vulture.

Was lucky enough to be in the area today.
Sadly I have never seen the mural before.
Have seen plenty of Keith's work though.
My favourite piece of art is by Australian artist John Kelly.
I love the 'Cow Up A Tree'.
I stopped and took my best interpretation photo.
So many to choose from!

Came back again today to do this one while the weather was nice. I'm a big fan of this mural. How it's gone all these years and not been defaced is beyond me. Perhaps a mutual respect between street artists?
It's hard to pick a favourite public art piece. We are spoilt for choice in this beautiful city. Whether it's the amazingly large-scale faces of Rone or the bright and bold colours of Mikey Makatron, there's always something to stop and appreciate.
Answers to be sent shortly. TFTC

A tram ride brought me here for a quick 'find' & some slow contemplation. A read of the plaque piqued my interest & as suspected, another young & promising life cut short by HIV. RIP. Good to see his work is still appreciated & enjoyed & thanks for bringing me here to see it.

On Tuesday evenings I am in this part of town and souvenir hunting brings out the geocacher in me, so it was after dark as I was scurrying around this building trying to find the mural. I was doing better than the guy who was looking for the entrance! I was happy to see that the mural is well lit at night and I could spend some time marvelling at the artistry. But what does it mean exactly? I soon had the answers in hand and it was time to scurry back to the car, just in time to see the lost guy walking back from around the corner - I'm sure he circumnavigated the whole site. TFTC
I've been giving this some thought and I think my favourite public artwork is the red sticks as part of Jeff's erection. It welcomes you to the city and says - hey - we do things a little differently here. My favourite favourite public art festival is White Night - but sadly we aren't like to see the likes of that again

Love a bit of Keith. Favourite bit of public art would have to be the massive seal head on Liebig Street in warrnambool.

Thanks for the excuse to get out for a walk before my work meeting in Collingwood today. Didn’t have paper or a caching buddy so hope this will do for a photo.
My favourite public art in Victoria is probably RONE’s Broken Window Theory.

Was out in this cold weather today taking some art appreciating visitors sightseeing around the Fitzroy/Collingwood area. Thanks for directing us to this piece.
My favourite piece of public art in Victoria - probably something by Smug. There was a piece near Lonsdale/Spencer St’s featuring two old people. Not sure if it’s still there.

Had several items on our list today
. Souvenir for Blue Switch Day
. Start gathering points for the wheel of challenges
. Find some urban LGA's, as we generally don't stop to cache in Melb
. Move closer to the elusive 6000 finds
Oh, and a Specialist appointment, so we headed off bright and early to accomplish said goals.
This was the 5th for the day and a 3rd LGA.
TFTV suss vulture. I'm not much of a poser, even more so with a camera in one hand, a couple of broken ribs and an almost double parked vehicle, but as you can see, I was there.

Having a walk around my old home suburb of Collingwood. Some things have changed but this mural remains. I didn’t realise it is as significant as it is. I’ve got my personal wombat travel bug in the photo since I was alone in the rain. Thanks!
Had fun with the kids doing this one. A heated debate about the answer has led me to sending two answers to the CO.
The mural I thought of first is the one on the side of Preston Library. It is beautiful.

This definitely isn’t my favourite pose, as my knees protested against me kneeling and then rising again.
Thanks though for bringing me out today. Favourite public art is probably the waves next to the NGV.

I kept seeing this mural everyday when i take the bus but i cant get time to take a picture but today i had the chance to see a smiley face on the map.
There are so many excellent examples of public art in Australia, particularly in Canberra and Victoria it’s hard, virtually impossible to nominate a favourite, except perhaps the most recent you’ve seen. I like ones that are incorporated into a building, or structure, like part of a playground. Along this line is a Southern Right Whale incorporated into the lawn in the Jetty Triangle area in Cowes is one of my favourites. Many people aren’t aware it’s there unless they look down. It’s included in one of my Adventure Labs.
I didn’t have a photographer with me when I visited this location- we couldn’t find a car park, so The Driver just drove around while I quickly visited the location and took the required notes.
Thanks for bringing me to this wonderful piece of art work SussVulture!

GT37 was determined that I was do do this cache on the way home from a concert. Can't say I was too pleased at caching after midnight but was pleased to say that this was a nice easy one. Even if I couldn't quite strike the pose. Thanks for the interesting cache.
After some previously booked travel was cancelled due to Covid, we were now having to use up our flight credits before they expired so my wife and I decided to fly down to Melbourne from Brisbane for an extended weekend break.
Sadly, today was our last day in town (it's not a public holiday tomorrow in my home town) and I was keen to add a few more virtual caches to my collection. While my wife was enjoying a sleep in I jumped on an early morning tram out to Bundoora. I was fortunate that the route of the tram on my way back in to town took me close to GZ so I jumped off at the nearest stop and walked over to GZ to take my photo with the mural.
My favourite bit of public art in Melbourne is the John Dory fish at Wharf Lane. It's not my most favourite artistic-wise but holds fond memories as we took a photo of it with my daughter many years ago when she was quite young. I only recently came across the photo while looking at some data stored online, and was fortunate to stumble across it again during our wanderings around the city on this trip. TFTC

In the city for a conference and I always try to get to the city early to collect a few geocaches. Specifically ones that catch my eye first, and then any others in the area.
The FTF in Collingwood was my first target of the day, and that positioned me perfectly to visit this Virtual Cache that was on my list. Glad I was here early as the streets were pretty quiet.
Keith Haring's art continues to be widely celebrated today for its unique blend of street art and pop culture, as well as its powerful messages about social justice and equality. It is a shame that most "Street Art" seems to be the same graffiti without any substance and it soon painted over.
My 3 favourite pieces of public art would have to be :-
1. Hosier Lane as it is always changing and I have to visit almost every Melbourne visit.
2. Mr Yakerboo as it has special meaning to me - GC9P7ZF
3. Along the stations between Richard and South Yarra is the "Cyborg". A face that is half Man, half Robot. This Graffiti Street Art was painted up along the side of the building a good 30+ years ago and I would stare at it every time I went to the football as a kid and later as an adult working in the city. It was still there a couple of years ago, looking old, and with other graffiti painted up to and over part of it, which is a huge shame. Such a well done piece.
Thanks for the cache Suss Vulture

We had visitors from the West here for Harry Styles, and after three concerts (one Perth, two here), a day spent getting a prime general admin spot, and another lining up for merch, they had dinner with us down Smith St to talk about all things Harry. And it turns out that Harry had been in Collingwood TODAY (!), and that he is a Keith Haring FAN (!!) - for his sake I hope he’s also a cacher, because this was fun. Thanks suss vulture for the after dinner entertainment.
I visited my son-in-law with his wife, bought a new apartment nearby and stopped quickly. Hard to say which one is the best as I think they all are great art. I always enjoy seeing many different.
Fav from me.
Thanks, suss vulture, for bringing me here today.

Out n about with m4yb grabbing a few caches.
We were meeting my 2 sons at Jim’s Greek Tavern for my birthday celebration dinner, and oh wow that place is worth a FP! Interesting to me to see into the PBS radio studios and also learn the connection with Marcus Westbury on this site, Newcastle and his son is one of my grandsons best friends!
Now to my favourite art work in Melbourne, this is hard cause you have so much but the first place that came to mind is AC/DC lane in the city. So many great street art in there. A well deserved FP.
Thanks for the hide & suss vulture

Megawat60 and I were headed to Jim’s for a birthday feast with his sons, like a good geocacher I looked at the map and headed for your virtual. Blown away at the history around it, more so when #1 son told us more about Keith and the preservation of the mural.
Today my fave piece of art is Angel on Southbank. Subject to change as every day I see something else.
Answer sent and pics attached.
Many thanks for bringing us to the mural and a FP of course!

My favourite street art is Aretha Brown's shipping container mural at Footscray Station.
Thanks for placing a Virtual here, may have never visited otherwise as I'm on the way to a traditional this afternoon. Much appreciated!

I had the chance to visit this cache today. For the many times I have been up and down this road, I have never seen this. I am sorry but I am not into artwork so can't really elect one. I must say that there are some stunning sculptures around in country Victoria though. Thanks for the cache.
We are visiting the Vegan Grocery store up the road to get some birthday treats for my niece so decided to visit this cache on the way. Answers to questions sent. Our most favourite public art ever is Forever Melbourne - photo attached. This was commissioned by Chris Cincotta to be painted in Hosier Lane so was of course eventually painted over, so our favourite more permanent piece of public art work is the Painted Silo in Avoca of an owl. The artist used some glow in the dark paint which shows after being activated by lights at night - photo attached.
Photos of our hilarious attempts to emulate the figures also attached
TFTV suss vulture - GJMMelb - Fave point for the fun!

A fleeting visit to the state this weekend for a mate’s wedding, and we can’t miss a bonus virtual. Thanks! Mrs G posed as my old man knees and poor dancing skills limit my photogenic capacity/outcomes!
Edit: forgot to add our art choices - a controversial choice but our kids love the big Ned Kelly at Glenrowan. There something a bit dorky and kitsch about the ‘big things’ and it’s hard not to like some of them (even if it’s a guilty pleasure). For Mr and Mrs G, as country folk, we quite like silo art just about anywhere. We’ve enjoyed a lot of the awesome murals and graffiti art in Melbourne this weekend too.

Out on a Christmas break with sir_spectre, exploring southern Victoria grabbing lots of smilies, finding caches in LGA's and of course signing a few more challenges.
Sir_spectre has sent in the required answers for this cache.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

The original Avenue of Honour was planted on Saturday 7 September 1918.
The trees, Atlantic Cedars, commemorated 60 World War One servicemen and nurses from the Dartmoor District.
Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

So Mr CNQ flew in from Brisbane early yesterday and set about battling the traffic in an unfamiliar hire car to find some old, virtual, earth and popular caches around the city. So we have had limited exposure to the other public art, but an early front runner would be the rib cage type tunnel near the big yellow chip on the M2 near the city and a big bridge. I picked up the rest of family from a delayed Townsville flight well after midnight and the colours of the tunnel, which isn't actually a tunnel looked interesting. Thanks for drawing our attention to the history of this work and the site and congratulations on your virtual reward suss vulture.
Found It!
Stopped here for a quick photo on a rather hot day. Can't say I have a favourite bit of public art in Victoria, but this one looks nice though.

How fun is this - in fact so fun I didn’t mind returning when I realised I forgot to send answers and log last year. In Melbs for the annual fam gathering and now it’s some recovery downtime on trusty treadles - and quiet enough to try some solo antics in front of the great mural. How lucky are we for the institution of public art. I don’t have a favourite as too often it’s the moment or interplay of light and perspective BUT I will choose the corrugated cows at Heide in Heidelberg for simplicity and colour. I do love sculpture gardens and would put McClelland and Point Leo up there. A fave for fun. TFTC
My mum is in hospital nearby after getting a total hip replacement. After visiting her, I went out with geo teenager to find a few caches around here.
Well this was a bit of fun, even the teenager thought so and posed for a photo.
Not being arty, but if we have to nominate a piece of public art then maybe the big yellow cheese stick on Citylink.
Answer sent to CO.
Thank you for the virtual cache here suss vulture ??

This is an amazing mural. So many different shapes. My favorite public art work in Victoria is the big mosaic beastie by Deborah Halpin that used to be in the moat at the NGV.
