Great story at a lovely place. I am in Australia with a group, so I am happy to see a few city's in Australia. Thanks for showing this interesting place in Melbourne Greetings Elfenzauber from Germany **FP**
Melbourne to see Pearl Jam. Taking the opportunity to see some sights, walking around, completing some adventure labs and finding some geocaches with legend. Visited the LUME for the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition and then caught the tram back onto this area to complete the pedestrian bridge adventure lab and completed this virtual cache on one of the bridges.
Heading to dinner nearby we decided to stop here and examine these interesting installations. The weather was unusually warm and we enjoyed the gentle stroll across the bridge gathering the information as we went. I took a photo but didn't check it and somehow managed to only get the edge of the piece of paper with my caching name. [:o)]Thanks to themd for this excellently themed Virtual cache and for bringing me here. Logged with CO permission.
Melbourne 2024. XPT. Concert. Discord Mates. Geocaching.Collected the required information while crossing the Sandridge Bridge. TFTV
In Melbourne for 2 nights stopover on our way to Tasmania from NZ. I had 2 muggle friends in tow but they quite enjoyed helping me find the information I required. Im glad I did this on the first day as the bridge was closed the following day to pedestrians. Answers sent to CO
Thank you for this virtual cache! I was walking by the river after visiting the Lume, sunny evening with a lot of people eating out and music playing. This was a nice task while walking the bridge, answears now sent.Greetings from Finland
After we were out and about in the city today, we also visited this interesting virtual cache. However, it was a bit difficult to find all the tasks straight away in the dark. In the end, the questions were answered and sent to the owner. Best wishes from the Moorhelmi's from Germany.
Taking the long way into the office along the yarra this morning, lovely day for it. Have ridden past here so many times but been way more concerned about dodging zombies (er unaware pedestrians on mobile phones)
Great virtual and interesting questions. Answers sent to CO. I was actually born in Adelaide but we did this cache from south end of the bridge to the north and it started raining so I didn't want to walk back! Sorry for being lazy!
Out for a walk earlier today before some meetings and found this virtual. Cool sculpture. TFTC.
TFTC:). Sent the answers to The CO. Was a fun walk learning all about the history of Australian Migration. C.C
Not sure how I missed this one yesterday, but another trip here wasnt a bad idea anyway
Answers sent to CO.bunadoorian and I were in town to fill in some time between the AFL grand final celebrations and the Melbourne Storm's prelim final. We picked up a couple of caches around this area. I have seen this bridge before but can't remember actually seeing these glass boards before. It was great looking at all the different bits of information. Thank you for this virtual - themd.
Grub62 and I visited this virtual and Grub62 sent the answers. It has been a glorious day and this virtual has only improved the experience. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
Hey MD! I visited the bridge, nice sunny Sunday in Melb I'll submit answers in the next day.
This was a cache that we have been trying to get to for some time. Pleased to finally make it in today and with enough time to take this informative stroll. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
This was an interesting location to visit and start to explore. We didn't look around very much as we didn't have the time to spare but look forward to visiting again with time to spare. Thanks for bringing us here with this cache.
A very nice and informative cache. The signs were a little hard to read at night, including the one in my picture. I am standing in front of the Germany sign Vielen Dank an themd frs Legen und PflegenThanks to themd for placing and maintaining this cache. Found on 24. Bisoutje and I are on a roadtrip with a campervan between Cairns and Adelaide and have now touched ground in Melbourne. We have spent 3 beautiful days here filled with sightseeing, good food, meeting the most friendly people and of course finding some geocaches as well.We knew that Australia is a country of immigrants (and if you go back enough, what country isn't?) but we were baffled to learn that people literally came from everywhere. We enjoyed answering the questions with great views around us. Answers have been sent to the CO.TFTC!
Mr Tardis was in Melbourne for work, and went for a nice walk to complete this cache. Nice bridge. Thanks for the cache themd.
LeeLee was in the city to see a show with her bestie and of course made time to get in early to pick up a cache. It was so chilly tonight but I was not deterred as this one has been on the radar for a long time. LeeLee knew and worked for Les Erdi when he beautifully redeveloped the Grand Hotel, the old Railways building on the corner of Soencer and Flinders St. It was not a suprise that he created this feature for all to see. Thanks themd for creating for us all to enjoy. Got into the city a bit earlier than normal so decided to take a nice stroll and pick up some caches in the city before work. This was a good opportunity to really take in this interesting monument and enjoy the city views from the Yarra. As you can see from the photo I'm another Yank in Oz, but I've called Melbourne home for more than a decade now, one of the best cities on Earth for sure!
13 July 2024 14:51 We tethered the little tinnie and made our way to the bridge to undertake this virtual, and get the first waypoint of many for the multicache. Virtual visited with dalerious, and answers sent off to CO.This was an awesome Virtual. It is such a shame that a minority have to go around defacing our heritage, and think it is a clever and wonderful thing to do.There were also some loud protests going on trying to convince people of so many conspiracy theories. To tell you the truth, it was doing my head in, and I was having trouble concentrating. All that said, we did enjoy reading the heritage this country has, and how lucky we are to have so much experience from all over the world.Thank you themd.
Found from the river, boating with catnap777. I don't have enough fingers to point to all my places of origin. If I came from money, they would call me a "mixed breed". [^] Alas, i'm just a "mongrel". With lineage sprouting from England, Scotland, Ireland and France, I guess I am predominately British. It was easier for my wife as cat's family comes from Malta and Egypt. [^]After attending AlphaDeltaIndigo's T/5 Event on Herring Island, as an encore, cat' and I putted our tiny tinnie (with all of 2.2 horses behind it) on a 14km round trip all the way down to The Bolte Bridge to score the newish T/5 trad' there before heading back to pick up a few land based caches (and an icecream) along the river bank on our return voyage. We were in no rush, and there was a 5 Knot speed limit anyway, so we sat back and enjoyed the journey taking in the sights and sounds of bustling inner city Melbourne on what felt like our own private waterway. It was magical. [:X]Pulling up at the Sandridge Bridge pontoon, we climbed out of our little boat to the sound of a protest group making a lot of noise up on the prominade about their covid conspiracies tying in with a current lack of eggs on the supermarket shelves, but thats Melbs for you and I guess freedom of speach is as Australian as multiculturalism. [^]TFTC themd. You will have recieved our co-authored answers, and that is me in the pic pointing to England with catnap777 pointing at Egypt posted with her log.
What a great way to display the heritage of Australia. Thanks for the cache.
Walked this bridge a few times in the 3 days here.Answers sent to CO... puc enclosed. I'm about 6 generation South Aussie, so used that panel for my photo. Thanks for bringing us here.Cheers
I enjoyed this site very much - thanks for bringing me here. Very interesting info and a nice walk. TFTC
Thanks themd for the cache; and Greetings from Tassie. Here on a short trip mainly to catch up with family. Our last morning in Melbourne before training to Castlemaine Was on the bridge for the Pedestrian Bridges Ad Lab, so of course I couldn't leave this Virtual unfound. We enjoyed reading of the Travellers concept and studied some of the panels closer than others.I'm from good ol' First Fleet convict stock, mixed British heritage, but decided to grab the pic by the Tasmania panel - seemed more relevant!Answers found and sent to the CO.Thanks for an interesting, informative, and enjoyable virtual.Cheers,EPs
This is the first time I've ever stopped to take any notice of these panels. Surprisingly I quite enjoyed gathering the information needed (and sent to CO) and am proud to say I was one of those Italian immigrants from question 4, but that was a long time ago and I definitely consider myself to be an Aussie now. Thanks for the interesting virtual. ________________________________________________
Found with Kiscardi and KB while on a walk around Melbourne. Answers sent by Kiscardi. I really liked the cache. FB given. Thanks
Bridge is finished - we caught the train into towm to grab some virtuals, trads and ad labs while looking at the sightsWondering around with Kev and Hal2929. Lots of fun finds. Thanks to all the COs for creating the caches for us to find.
Answer sent by messenger to the CO. The sculptures are amazing and the panels fascinating. Thanks for setting up this virtual cache and making us look more closely at all the information. Favourite point.
A fascinating place to visit and learn some Australia history while visiting on a work trip. Answers sent to CO. Thanks for the virtual cache and for bringing me here as I probably wouldnt have come to this bridge otherwise.
Chook drove the 'Geotruck' ute to Altona today to deliver it to its new home, then caught the train back to Beaufort. On arriving in Melbourne to change trains, she realised she had a couple of hours up her sleeve before the Vline service departed. So the obvious best use of this time was to enjoy a stroll along the Yarra waterfront, crossing pedestrian bridges, and finding a few ad labs and caches along the way. Really loved the info on this bridge and took time to read much of it. A really interesting Virtual Cache that is well deserving of a favourite point. TFTC themd.
A great virtual I liked to discover information about all populations that came to AustraliaThank you for the virtual One FPA business trip in Australia, and a unique opportunity for me to find a few caches there.Thank you to all the cache owners!Greetings from France.
Our travel group flew from Launceston (Tasmania) to Melbourne this morning. There were a couple of free hours in the afternoon, so I decided to wander out from the hotel and find a few caches. Answers to the questions posed have been sent to CO. I took the photo in front of the Czech Republic panel. While I am now an US citizen, I was born a citizen of Czechoslovakia.
Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. An interesting topic to glean information about. I prefer things like this over geology questions on earthcaches. My photo in front of my glass heritage panel does not have me holding something that reflects my heritage. I didnt think that bringing my pet sheep and Velcro gloves to the city would be appropriate! Instead I have a takeaway coffee. Although not distinctly kiwi, we do love a wander in the sun with a takeaway brew. But that could be said for almost all cultures, really. Anyway, I made do with what I had. Thanks for the making me stop and smell the roses on this bridge. Answers saved and will be sent shortly.
Logging this on a dot day. Sent answers to CO late last year. My heritage is South African, but now a New Zealander. Loved the big metal statues behind the glass panels and found some really interesting stuff on some of them. Thanks for the virtual cache.
A pleasant walk on a cloudy day!Answers sent and approved.TFTVC----------------------------------------------------------The nominees for the [**2023 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/2023-victorian-cache-of-the-year-awards/) have been announced. *25th April 2024, Found @ 9:30AM, Find #3796* A public holiday with an opportunity to dust the cobwebs off the bike with a ride around the city. An interesting bit of history here and one I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It's amazing how you can live somewhere and not even know about these great places of interest. I love this hobby of mine and how I'm always finding and exploring new and interesting things. Thanks to the CO for bringing me here and thank you for this virtual cache.
Gathered answers on two or three visits, interesting murals that everyone just walks past, but cachets stop and readThanks themd for The Travellers - A Story Of Australian Migration#6146
The beginning of today didnt go as geo-smoothly as I had hopped; we planned today as the day to walk the city center with Lauras muggle friend Julia who we flew down under to see. She was nice enough to take most of the day off, which meant that we could spend time walking today in the city and not only get our rings closed, but also to see a bit of the downtown. After getting into town, we had three DNFs and two finds, so not a great ratio. After an hour or two, I split apart from the ladies to give them time to properly chat, and headed on my own geohunt. I started off unsuccessfully by taking a bus to a set of caches I wasnt able to find. Bummed out, I took an expensive uber back to town with the intent of a river walk and some finds. I continued along the river bank and as I was crisscrossing the various bridges, I next came this marvelous and interesting bridge. I first walked around the panels with my interest peaking (liking maps a lot), then actually checked what geocaches are here. I first solved the [ridiculously mega long stage of the local multicache](https://coord.info/gc5abj2), but seeing it was several hundred kilometers away, I turned my attention to this virtual. The info & stats are impressive! I gathered what I needed and later sent the answers to the CO, and at 4:18 pm drafted this log after snapping a photo with our nick, marking our 7102nd overall find. Thank you themd for the listing of The Travellers - A Story Of Australian Migration and brining me here; I was glad to visit it and spice up our Thursday while down under in ????Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant ????Myanmar! For my own personal statistics; this is the twenty-seventh of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited.
Visiting Melbourne on business and stopped by here to learn some history. Best part of caching is where this game takes you and this cache was no exception. Answers sent picture posted. Tftc
Learned a lot doing this geocache - thank you! Even though it was a wet Sunday morning I loved looking at the artwork and reading the information on the panels. Stood in front of England as that was where I was born! TFTC and showing us another part of wonderful Melbourne. . . . the chikins from Brisbane
Wandering around Melbourne grabbing a few caches as there wasn't a lot else to do on Good Friday with most of the shops closed.Wish I had realised that this bridge was part of an Adventure Lab as I could have killed two birds with one stone here. The information was quickly obtained and the required photo taken. Thanks from a couple of Tasmanian geocachers. Answers have been sent to CO
On a morning walk, we walked over several of the bridges. Very nice temperatures too. Answers sent. TFTC
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Signapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Today we drove from Lakes Entrance to Melbourne where we will be staying for the night. After checking in in our hotel it is still rather early. Since it is another beautiful day we go out and do some sightseeing and geocaching in Melbourne. We could see this interesting bridge from our hotel so we wanted to have a closer look. Read the glass panels and found the answers which have been sent via the message center. Tried to point to Rotterdam where we are from but are just a tad too short. Thank you very much for this fun virtual.
During our two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia we traveled from Lake Entrance to Melbourne. Once we arrive at our hotel there is still enough time for a cache tour in the area.Walking on the bridge we looked for the answers for this virtual cache. We also took a nice photo.**themd**, thanks for the cache.
Day 14 of our roadtrip in Australia. Well, no roadtrip today, as we're still in Melbourne. Today we'll be exploring the parts outside of CBD, starting in the north, then south of Yarra and east where all the sports related stuff happens. Well, if we make it that far, there's so much to see here . Cool idea for a virtual. Our origin is Germany, but we call Switzerland our home now. And who knows, where we will end up in a few years . Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. FP
Somewhat ironically, I did this as a farewell (rather than as a welcome) to Melbourne. Final evening of my 6th visit so, as I'm never sure if and when I'll be back, I went for a wander round for old times' sake and picked up a couple of Virtuals. Really enjoyed this one; if I could award a Favourite Point, then I would. (I have plenty but, as I am no longer a Premium Member, I can't award them. Seems a bit silly, as it's the cache owners who get punished, but there you go, that's Groundspeak for you...) Greetings from England, TFT(V)C!
The last stop on our Australia trip is Melbourne, where we "found" this virtual on the bridge today.Nice idea. Thank you for showing it to us.TFTCacheld
We kunnen terugkijken naar 2 mooie weken in Australi!NLBokkie and I are going on holiday to Australia for 4 weeks. We will go to Tasmania for the first week and then travel around on the "mainland" for 3 weeks. Along the way I'll meet my niece, I haven't seen her for 50 years. It will be a holiday full of experiences......Our cache goal is to visit different countries. So we fly back to Dubai and forth via HongKong. We would like to score an FTF in Australia. We do that in Tasmania?? Then the webcam caches in Adelaide and the old caches between Adelaide and Sydney. Then we end up at the Mega in Canberra. A full program which a lot of fun!Unfortunately, after 2 weeks we have to end our trip with an earlier return flight to the Netherlands. My mother passed away and we have to go back. We can look back at 2 beautiful weeks in Australia!
[9077] Holidays in Australia, day 18, final day. This night we go home to Europe, but we used the last day to explore the city of Melbourne by foot. It was a hot day and we enjoyed the shadow in the alleys, lanes and shopping arcades. We found some traditional geocaches and played some virtuals, so we got a good impression of the town. This one belonged to our finds, maybe one the hottest spots we came to today. But we found very interesting information about a multi-cultural town. TFTC!
Stopped by here on my way to Flinders St Station to catch a Frankston Line train to meet a friend in Glen Huntly. Thank you themd for placing this cache for my enjoyment.

Travelling with stensbye. After four days in Adelaide we came to Melbourne and we spent the day here. stensbye sent the answers for both of us. Thank you for this virtuelle cache.
Arrived in Melbourne this afternoon so took a walk down to the Yarra River and came back after dinner via this bridge. Really interesting and a place we may have missed were it not for caching. Gets a favourite from us as we have just met a lot of cousins who descended from my great great Uncle Nelson who arrive in the 1890s as a farmer.Tftc and greetings from Yorkshire, England
Thank you for the cache!I arrived to Melbourne yesterday from Adelaide on the Overland, which was an amazing journey across spectacular landscape, and I saw my first kangaroo! I'm travelling and geocaching with my bestfriend Ironford, and today we spent in the centre of Melbourne.I really liked the bridge, the sculptures, and the whole installation about immigration. It was a cool place to explore, and I'm a leaving a favourite point.
A huge thank you to the cache owner for creating and maintaining a wonderful cache. EP79 and I have embarked on a three-month long geocaching trip across the globe, and we are both grateful and thrilled to discover new places and new friends. The first part of our trip is dedicated to Australia and New Zealand. We arrived in Melbourne on the Overland yesterday and settled in. Today, we went to the city centre exploring the parks and streets and geocaching on the way. The Travellers is was an amazing cache and I really enjoyed learning about Australia's rich cultural heritage.Answers were sent via the message centre and a photo is attached.Sorry for logging with a delay. The trip was really busy, but at least I get to revisit these caches again and enjoy great memories. Many thanks for the invite to a beautiful place and for a wonderful geocaching adventure. Greetings from Prague, the Czech Republic, Europe.

#2946 This is my day 273, and the longest physical cache find streak so far. I want to see how far I go. I am on a family vacation in Australia. After visiting Brisbane, Tasmania, and South Australia, now we are at our final stop, Melbourne. Today, we continued roaming around CBD Melbourne and found some caches here.Thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan @ March 3, 2024 13:05:58
A little tough doing this at night. Interesting information and I like that they put this up.I identify as a Technoman.
10:441888! That's a very well aged bridge!I enjoyed reading about the sculptures and time periods. And also happy to find a whole separate panel for my native country - Latvia. There are a few bigger countries that didn't have one. Well, not that it's a good thing - it just means we have had a refugee crisis in our history. So many Latvians were forced to flee during the end and in the wake of WWII...6687 Latvians born in Latvia in Australia. And almost 1/3rd from then in Victoria. One more just for 8 hours today - me! Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, themd!#10262
6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.Today, we visite Melbourne, we walk in the streets guided by the caches. Thanks to the caches we visited, we learn a bit more about australia, because many sites evoke Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

Our group (downunder24) visits beautiful places with the aim of collecting caches. It is very impressive. Thank you very much?? Greetings from Germany, muschel3 ??
Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

Third day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. This country is a typical immigration country, just like the USA and Germany. Only here the criteria are much stricter and I think that's right. The historical facts are well listed here. Luckily we had finished our notes when the rain shower came down on us. We quickly took refuge under the bridge and devoted ourselves to the EC. I sent my answers to the owner via Message Center.Thank you for laying & taking care .Dritter Tag in Australien ??.
Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today was travel day from Sydney to Melbourne.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndy
