On our last day in Canberra we wanted to enjoy nature a little more and see kangaroos and koalas. We chose the "Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve" as our destination. During our beautiful hike we were able to see many kangaroos in several places. Thank you for this cache and greetings from Germany.
Answers have been sent to the CO and approved. Photo attached. Last find for today, and finally collecting the necessary info to complete the requirements of this virtual. A slightly odd place for a plaque, but a nice monument and some interesting history to go with it. Thanks joeylovestreasure and DARKSIDEDAN for creating it --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Stopped past here as I arrived at Tidbinbilla for a few caches with Noikmeister. Confirmed the required information, took the required shots and headed into our meeting spot. Nice day out for it although am VERY tired now.
Today we went to the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. In addition to many animals such as turtles, koalas, kangaroos, bandicot and birds, we also found a few of the geocaches laid out. Thank you for putting the caches !This cache could also be found. Thank you very much.
We sidetracked down the road for this after a recent visit to the complex. Answer sent in, thanks DARKSIDEDAN ???
Made so many incredible friends on this adventure. 10/10 would do it all again.
Geobash Easter Mega - Day #5 (Easter Monday 1/4)For day five of my trip, I decided on power trailing my way to and from my third and final (pre-booked) tour at the Deep Space Tracking Station. This makes my four tours total. The power was a mixture of two joined into one. The two main PTs were, Beautiful View PT and the Drive Trip PT. There were also a couple of others along the way which needed to be added to the mix to break it up a little. It was great fun but very hard going as not all of them were at GZ given on the cache page or were in prickly bushes. Many battle scars were earned but it certainly was fun though. Once at the Deep Space Tracking Station it was a great tour. I learnt lots and got to the radio telescopes up close. I also got to find the caches around the area before heading off. After leaving, I power tailed my way back via the other way to get back to Canberra and then had a very late lunch. After that, I headed off to the CITO to finish the day off. TB visit. If the cache wasnt signed as JohnoMawbs, it was signed as JM or as the tour group name. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs & TFTCs Continuing along the PT towards the 'Deep Space Tracking Station'. This cache was one of them along the way. It is nice to see a virtual cache in the sea of Trads. A nice quick find here and now off to the next one.
Found with gwd.aussie while up for the Canberra GeoBash. Heading out to Deep Space Station Guided Tour grabbing a cache or two along the way. Answer sent - logging with permission.TFTC

This Easter has been an adventure with a mega wedding, volcano eruption, witch hunt and tour of the deep space station!it has been fun exploring the reserves and parks outside of the city too.thanks for showing us the nice landscape
After doing a fantastic tour nearby, Tidbinbilla Deep Space, we headed out here to get the obligatory photo and answer. The answer has been submitted by OHC. Thank you.
Thanks to OHC for submitting the answer on our behalf. Thanks also to the CO for bringing us out here. We were able to complete this cache after attending a tour at Tidbinbilla, Deep Space.
**Hellagirlpunk** (bottom right) and I (top right) were happy to visit Tidbinbilla over Easter weekend. Since we're from the US, this was our first time seeing koalas in their natural habitat! After a busy weekend at Capital GeoBash, it was so nice to have a calm afternoon walking the trails and seeing the flora and fauna of Australia.
Day #7 Geobashing We were off to the Deep Space Tour today as well the CITO so targeted specific Canberra caches along the way with OzHockeyChick, kristysadventures, papi4506 and GeoTurtle37.Stopped by to grab this one after we enjoyed the space tour nearby.A big thanks goes to DARKSIDEDAN for taking the time to add Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Canberra Geobash Road Trip 2024. Day Seven: Deep Space tour at Tidbinbilla, with a few targetted caches either side. A quick stop here to take the required photo and check out the plaque - answer submitted. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, DARKSIDEDAN ~~
In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. Found after attending the Deep Space tour. Answer sent to CO. Thank you DARKSIDEDAN & joeylovestreasure, for placing Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve for the geocaching community.# # #14543 # #
On holiday in Australia, caching when we can between attractions. Having a wonderful time!Stopped on our way in and got the photo and info, then spent four great hours hiking the trails. Thanks for adding to our adventure!
Stopped by here after returning from Deep Space. You forgot wombats in your description! Thanks (answer sent).
Stopped on our drive with goingplaces2 to do this virtual cache. Answer sent to CO and response received. Thanks for this virtual cache.
The GeoBash Tidbinbilla Tracking Station tour was on my agenda for today but beforehand I went to where it all happened 55 years ago, when I and 600 million others watched what was being broadcast from Honeysuckle (and later Parkes) of the events unfolding on the moon.Stopped here as I headed from Honeysuckle to Tidbinbilla to claim this virtual ... and was lucky enough to meet up with a couple of lackeys who were out searching for koalas and roos. Thanks for marking this spot on the geo-map DSD.
Came along with ilook4geo to do this virtual cache on a beautiful day. Answer sent to CO for both teams. Thanks for creating this virtual cache go to DARKSIDEDAN.
Thanks for the virtual. Planned to do some hiking after the deep space visit. However the burning off and the smoke put us off. So we kept it simple! However will be back!
Yay. Mega week has finally arrived. Didnt get much caching done at the hometown Adelaides Leap Year Mega. The minute it was announced I booked my single room. Then, muggle husband decided he wanted to come. Mmm. We all know that means .. less caching, so targets had to be sought. But at least theres a vehicle. This cache is a target. Mostly challenges and virtuals (to meet another challenge of course). After the deep space place we headed here and beyond for a bbq lunchGotta love a smiley face on the map. Thankyou for placing and maintaining it.
If it wasn't for Lokipagan who were passengering with me today, I would have missed getting this virtual. We pulled up and I collected my clue and took a happy snap. For those that cache with their smartphone, it's a bit hard to take a photo with it! But I just use my car's tablet for such photos A great little virtual. TFTV DARKSIDEDAN & joeylovestreasure
Joolay knew enough about this cache to stop and let me take a photo before we met our tour group. Have I said how much I appreciate my friends? The answer has been sent to the CO. I greatly enjoyed this nature reserve and what I learned from our ranger tour guide. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 1 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It all started with a an awesome tour and then Joolay was my tour guide to a lot of other cool caches. What a great way to start off my time here. And the added bonus is spending time with my FRIENDS!Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
This virtual is like the gateway to a world of incredible caching through Tidbinbilla. It is just a smorgasbord of everything through there!Baristayan stopped and posed for this after the Tidbinbilla Wetlands tour with the TTT crew, before heading out to the event at OCI. Thanks Darkside Dan!
Found while attending the Mega and after a group tour at Tidbinbilla. Very happy that this cache is my #15,000. A great day out. Another great day for caching. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN
Great day out during the CBR Mega 2024Thanks DSD for making us stop here and have a look around.
Great day for a tour of the Tidbinbilla wetlands as part of the geobash Oz mega event. Great tour guide. Learned lots. Met some lovely people from around the world. Thanks for the virtual!
Had a fun time exploring the reserve. So many cool animals, even saw a snake! Its a beautiful day to be exploring Australia. Looking forward to a few more days of fun before returning home. Thanks for the cache!
It's been a while since we've done a gentle tidbinbilla day, so today seemed like the perfect opportunity for a picnic and a bit of a wander. Managed to grab this virtual before we entered TFTC
Find # 10613Out this way to attend the GeoBash Tour of the Deep Space Tracking Station. In the way home there was a big storm brewing and lots of sheet lightning around so quickly ducked out to get the info and take a quick pic as the rain was starting.Answer sent to CO and approved to log. TNR is one of my favourite spots in the region, so a from me. Thanks so much for the many caches DARKSIDEDAN and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
After finding our way through another Weird Weir, we found ourselves close to the entrance of Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve This gave us an opportunity for a lovely walk today, but also to find his virtual. It is great to showcase this location, as it is a must for tourists and Canberrans alike. We have been here so many times, sometimes just for a barbecue and a short walk, and other times to really stretch ourselves up to a mountain peak. Thanks Darksidedan and Joeylovestreasure Domsky
A beautiful location that I always enjoy coming back to. I don't usually come past this spot as I drive the north side road.
BTW I hate to be here when the burnout team is on duty.
A favourite cause it's such a great place.

Let's be honest, Tidbinbilla deserved a virtual, it's epic! A nice, easily accessible virtual to tempt people into the park. Love it. Answers sent and approved, pic attached. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN and joeylovestreasure!
An awesome choice for a virtual cache! Will be great to bring non-locals out of the suburbs and down into the beautiful nature reserves we have here in the lower half of the ACT!
I haven't actually been here a huge number of times myself, probably less than a dozen times! I blame living on the extreme Northside of Canberra for that though! Was great to visit again today however with Toy Hunters, even if we didn't have time to actually venture past the front gates. I have been meaning to come back though as it has been a while, so hopefully soon!
Took our photo's with the sign, excellent to have an example photo in the description to prevent any ambiguity as well. We then wandered over to this little plaque to answer the question which has now been sent to the CO! Thankfully the CO is understanding as I didn't realise that Toy Hunter's log has been sitting without fulfilling the requirements for a few days, oops
Favourite point from me, a really well presented virtual!

Found with Loci612 on our way out to Tidbinbilla Tracking Station. Loci will send the CO the answer on behalf of the two of us. After a lovely drive we finally arrived in the area to take the required photo and answer the required question. Never noticed the plaque before, how cool! Lovely day to be out and about, TFTC DSD and JLT!
Was good to collect this cache on the way to the Tracking station today. Been out here before but missed this nice little cache. Tftc DSD
I'm trying to catch up on logging as many drafts as I can before the end of the year (tonight) in preparation for my New Years Resolution to log within a month of finding a cache. Only this time next year will see how I go with that ??I love Tidbinbilla and this is a good spot for a virtual. I was with the usual suspects when I found this one. Not too many cars around while capturing the photo. But from the rubber all over the road here, you can tell there are a few cars around at night. Tftc!!!
Chooo ooo [Found] with dty73 Joolay and KittyKatch! Been here 100's of times! Love Tidbinbilla! Answer sent, pic attached, thanks DSD and JLT.
Found on a trip to Tidbinbilla to check out the site for a GeoBash tour. A great place for a virtual and I have never noticed the old plaq before. I didn't realise that Tidbinbilla had been explored at such an early year. Thanks for the hide DARKSIDEDAN
What a lovely way to start the day.
Fabulous Autumn day to be out in the country.
Thanks for getting me out and about DARKSIDEDAN

After a morning in Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve stopped by to bag this one. Answer sent to CO. I was quite surprised that the answer was such an early date. TFTC
After another adventure beyond the local satellite dishes, the Green Geckos & I dropped in on this relatively new virtual ????????
After a great walk on Bullen, Muggle65 and l popped down here to grab the answer and take our pics. Thank you for the fun
Cache 9975 on 2 Apr 2023.
Out with TikvaNZ down south to grab a few caches. Stopped by this one on our way out of the park. Photo attached and required information sent to the CO.
Thanks DARKSIDEDAN for the virtual cache and the fun!

New virtuals on the ACT map for this work trip, journeys had to be made. [^] Off a morning flight from Brisbane, I made a bee line for this area, picking up the caches of interest. Sadly, I was not dressed for any walks, so I had to leave some for another time.
No chance of driving past a ghost though, so I pulled up, snapped my pic, grabbed the all important info for the CO, then continued to the big dishes.
I wonder how many people drive by here and not even noticed the plaque... [?]
Cheers DARKSIDEDAN.

One of my favourite areas as well that’s why I buy an annual pass to the reserve .
There has been a few caches at the entrance over the years but all have vanished.
Good to have a virtual here .
Many thanks to DSD for the nice placement of a well thought out virtual .

Tidbinbilla's a great spot to visit, and there's some awesome caches in here, from park & grabs to some pretty challenging rides & hikes. Also there are animals.
I confess to never having stopped to read the little plaque here before, so that alone was a good point of interest. The answer has been sent to the CO; required pic attached here.
Thanks, DSD & JLT! A favourite from me.

Karma is a b!tch.
I had flown down to Canberra from Brisbane to meet up with Dez (JezNDez) for an extended weekend expedition in the Jagungal wilderness with the sole aim of hunting a FTF on a new virtual cache at Valentine Hut. After hiking a total of around 26km on Friday we had managed to successfully claim the FTF by a mere 15 minutes, thanks in part to the second finder stopping to find another cache on the way. On a cache involving the effort that this one took, being beaten by 15 minutes is the equivalent of 15 seconds on any normal cache. We were therefore feeling pretty sheepish and fortunate in having made it by such a fine margin.
After an overnight stay at Schlinks Hilton hut on Friday night and a more comfortable stay in Jindabyne on Saturday night, we were now making our way back to Canberra this morning to continue caching around the city before my flight home. At a geocaching event the previous day we had heard rumour of a new virtual cache expected to be published today, and sure enough this cache had appeared overnight. This would involve only a small detour from our route so we set coordinates into the navigation and placed the cache on watch.
Not far from this cache, Dez picked up a tailgater sitting hot on our heels. As we drove along the main road I had pointed out the old rail bridge and Dez though this would be an ideal opportunity to shake off our companion and go for a sticky beak at the bridge. Dez though this would be a cool spot for a cache and as we approached I did a quick check of the app we sure enough confirmed that someone else though the same thing and had placed a cache here already. Mindful that the FTF was still to be found, we jumped out in search of this cache. Valuable time ticked away as I set about the search in all the wrong places before Dez joined me after some photos and managed to put her hand on it almost straight away.
With the logbook signed and the cache replaced, we continued on the drive towards Tidbinbilla. We had actually joked earlier in the morning that it would be ironic if we were beaten to the find by a small margin, and indeed this is how the caching gods decided to play out the scenario, with a notification popping up that the first find had been made while we were only 5 minutes away. We almost expected to see the FTFer driving away as we pulled up to GZ.
The location of GZ was familiar to me as I had driven past back in May 2022 on a driving holiday down to the Snowies with my wife. Upon pulling up today, a minor disagreement ensued over where we should park the car (my legs were keen for as little walking as possible after our efforts of the previous 2 days) and I jumped out to take a photo. Dez decided to be the pedant and declared the photo I had taken was the wrong sign. A forensic examination of the photo of the cache page indeed proved her theory correct and I relocated to take the required shot. Then the fun and games ensued as we tried to get enough phone signal to upload our photos. We struck various poses, climbed various parts of the local terrain, all in an effort to move the signal bars a single notch. I'm sure the passing cars must have thought we were possessed by some evil spirit as we jumped and stretched in a vain search for some faint transmission. Eventually Dez had enough success to get away a STF log so we headed back to the car to continue our journey back to town. TFTC

Woohoo [FTF] @ 9:18am on a warm Sunday morning!

I was looking for a cache or two to find this morning and couldn't decide where. After a few moments of indecision I saw that this cache had been published, and yet still remained unfound. Lucky for me as I don't have notifications set up for new virtual caches. I rushed out the door immediately, fearing that it would be gone by the time I get there. Once I got there I quickly took the photo and visited the waypoint, and headed straight back into town where I sent the answers. I was going to stop around for a few other caches, but given I had no reception and only an offline list, decided it was best to head back. Soon enough got the all clear for the CO. Then I headed back home for a late breakfast. My first maiden virtual! - And quite likely to be my only one too!
It's been a while since I've visited Tidbinbilla, and it is always pleasant to return, thanks for bringing me back. No doubt I'll have to come back to pick up some of the many other caches in the area. TFTV DARKSIDEDAN, +1 fav point for you.
