Thanks for find #531! What a stunning day to look at the surroundings.
I was staying in Wangaratta, and found out last night that ClimbingSon was climbing at Mount Buffalo. We met at Bright for coffee this morning, then headed to Mt. Buffalo where he showed me where he was abseiling and climbing. A nice couple took a photo of us. Amazing views. Thanks for the Virtual Team BGF
Found by The Empire + H and the gang!Leaving Bright, we headed towards Mount Buffalo, eager to explore its renowned lookouts and the historic chalet. The drive was spectacular, with the road winding through dense forests and offering glimpses of dramatic granite cliffs. As we climbed higher, the air became cooler, and the views more breathtaking. When we reached the Mount Buffalo Chalet, its grand, rustic architecture stood as a reminder of its long history. We took some time to explore the surroundings, imagining the generations of travelers who had stayed there over the years. From there, we made our way to several nearby lookouts, each offering expansive views of the Alpine landscape.Returning to Mount Buffalo this year brought back memories of our previous visits, both last year and in 2021. Standing at the same lookouts, we couldnt help but reflect on how familiar and yet ever-changing the views felt. This time, with spring in the air, everything felt vibrant and alive. The valleys below seemed to stretch out even farther, and the changing seasons added a different layer of beauty to the experience. It felt like we were reconnecting with a place that had become part of our journey each year. Answers sent, thanks for the cache Team BGF.-MVirtual #262
It probably wasnt the best day to head to Mount Buffalolight showers and fog, but at least it was quiet, and we had the nonexistent views all to ourselves. Great location for a Virtual. Cheers Team BGF.
Site visited with dalerious and answers sent off to CO's for deliberations.Logging this Virtual in the hope that dalerious has sent off a good set of answers to the CO's. Otherwise it is back to the drawing board and try again.Visiting Buffalo on a weekday in winter is awesome. Minimal crowds and just the right amount of snow made this a very enjoyable adventure. The weather didn't disappoint either. The location for this Virtual is spectacular, and being able to take a photo with no one around at posted coordinates is a rarity. We savoured the moment, and thank you Team BGF for providing this Virtual in one of our most favourite playgrounds.
Visited while on a huge weekend caching Buffalo with catnap777. Wow!!! What a view!!! Who could ever tyre of looking at that. [^]Well it was my turn to send off our colluded assignment, so my dear wife allowed me do this one as I couldn't possibly stuff it up. Well I think we can log it as "found" as I'm pretty sure our answers are correct and that I paid the right postage and I did write E.Mail on the front of the envelope. TFT(V)C Team BGF. [^]We had so much fun caching Mt Buffalo, that cat' and I decided to stay overnight in Porpunkah and head straight back up here to do it all again the very next day.
Snow day at Mt Buffalo - area good dusting last night so fun snow play. Even tried to snow as we headed back to the Chalet.A brief stop at this historic site. Looked for the AdLab bonus with no luck but up to the lookout for this be. Answers sent and the view not so great today.TFTC Team BGF
Great views. Just arrived at Porepunka, decided to go for a drive up Mt buffalo before the weather turns bad tomorrow.
We were hoping to get a nice picture of the sunset from up here, but unfortunately, it was less than spectacular tonight. Also, giraffe_legs legs had left his coat back at our caravan, so it was a bit chilly for him. Looking forward to doing some more exploring in the coming week. Thanks
Wow what an amazing view. Something we would not have seen if not for geocaching, you gotta love this game. Thanks Team BFG for showing us such an awesome spot
Couple of Finnish vanlifers traveling around this beautiful Australia with Matilda the campervan. Stopping here and there to enjoy life without any plans. After getting everything set up and visiting some friends, Mntti1 and I began our travels few months ago. After visiting Melbourne and Great Ocean road we came to Myrtleford to work for hop harvest season. We finished the season couple days ago and today finally visited the mountains. Stunning place, thanks for the cache!
A leisurely drive up Mt Buffalo (amongst the many bike riders) to escape the heat of the lower country on this Labour Day holiday. No energy for anything more strenuous than this Virtual near the Chalet. Sent off our answers and got a quick reply to go ahead from the CO. The cloudy conditions make it a perfect day for photography. #10,811Another excuse to walk the Skywalk and admire the scenery from that vantage point. Plenty of people wandering around the Garden of the Gods today. TFTVIRTUAL Team BGF
Ive visited Mount Buffalo numerous times and we decided to ride up today on our usual Wednesday ride. The chalet is still as beautiful and grand as ever, and Im happy to be able to log this cache today. Answers sent to CO
#6487.We visited Bright this past weekend and took one day to explore a bit of Mount Buffalo. We did not have enough time to see everything we wanted or attempt all the caches we wanted to, but we did stop at what we thought were a few highlights. This view literally took our breath away - it gave a new meaning to breathtaking. This was one of the highlights of our trip and we are glad we got to experience it. Thanks for placing a Virtual here for us to find.
Beautiful views to be had from all the lockouts. But nervous about standing on that glass panel. But still great. This is my 100th virtual cache find. Very appropriate spot for the milestone. Thanks for bringing me back.
A warm sunny day at the top of Mt Buffalo, a place I haven't been since grade 5 camp. It's a bit more impressive as an adult! Thanks for setting up this virtual cache at this incredible lookout.
It has been a while since visiting Mt Buffalo, but it wasn't until we looked through our photos that we calculated our last visit here to be in 1992. We have fond memories holidaying in the area with our young family 31 years ago, but this time we were able to explore a bit more around the grounds and the different viewing areas. The view was clear and the weather warm with a fresh breeze on this amazing new platform. Thanks so much for the Virtual cache at this spectacular location, and bringing back so many great memories of our pre-caching holidays. A favourite from us.
Can you believe it was sunny a little while ago. Now the little beavar is almost under water. Wonderful view to watch the weather miles away as well. TFTC!
Tag along and I had the chance to visit Bright for a few days and used the bikes provided to ride around the township. This was one of the caches we tackled while exploring the wider area.Answers have been sent for approval. Both Tagalong and I took care at the edge of the sky walk. As I age heights are becoming scary. the views were good though. Thanks for the fun here BGF
I was up here for the day doing stupid secret stuff in the morning and stupid caching stuff in the afternoon. So after coming back up from below here and still being alive, I wandered over here to check out the view sensibly and gather the required info.It was funny hearing people freaking out just standing on this platform, if they only knew the sheer stupidity I had just come from directly below here.
I hate this cache in a scared of heights way but loved it in the fact it pushed me, my fear of heights made me decide not to do this for many visits but the dirty platform made it doable. I wasn't the only one that struggled to head out but I made it and got the pic. Logged with permission
21386. I needed to do some maintenance on a cache at Porepunkah so we had planned to continue on to Mt Buffalo as the forecast was for a mild, sunny day. It was a glorious day up with the Gods. Many other people had the same idea. We did the AdLab and gathered another 8 caches at various points along the journey. I had been reading a few logs and was getting rather worried about glass sides and bottoms. However, it was a short stroll and the views were magnificent in all directions. Rob has sent our answers and here comes the photo. Thanks Team BGF
A lovely spring day so BettyBoo3747 and I headed off to do some maintenance, and a trip up Mt Buffalo. We didn't do any long walks just a few along the road and the AdLab.We hadn't seen the sky walk before, didn't realise it was that long since we had been here.A lovely view from the end this morning. Victoria is still so green compared to NSW.Answers sent through to the CO.Thanks, Robmc.
Up in Bright for the week with the MX-5 Club... and today we went for a quick... and I mean quick... drive up Mount Buffalo. MX-5 Club runs rarely allow time to go caching... but a Virtual like this one can be easily fitted in. Thanks **Team BGF** for creating this one here.
After 14 years of living in Albury, I have never ventured up this way. All up 14 caches, 1 DNF, a few not attempted, an adlab, and 10kms of hiking. All up a great day out finished with a pub meal on the way home. Tftc team bgf.
On a holiday nearby, we came to Mt Buffalo looking for some snow, but alas it was all gone (or we never found any). We had a fun time running about the chalet and pondering the doom that might befall you if these balustrades were not secured properly. Today was clear enough to see Mt Kozi (no idea how to spell it.) and I tried to get it in the photo with me. Can you have a selfie with a mountain? Req. info sent, thanks for adding this virtual to the map.
Always fabulous to visit the Island in the Sky. Hard to believe there is not one soul but us in the car park! TFTC and the lure to visit yet again.
I just love Mount Buffalo! Any excuse I can get I’ll come up here.
I needed a virtual for this months ‘wheel of challenges’ and this one was the one to do.
The geokids and I spent the morning in Bright and made the trip up here after lunch.
Lots of snow on the surrounding mountains but not much up here unfortunately.
Thanks for the virtual cache!

Family snow day at Mt Buffalo today. Sun was out, snow was quite patchey, but the kids still loved it. Managed to sneak in a few geocaches also.
Our first walk along this new walk. Kids loved it, but was a little bit unnerving when one someone else's child started jumping on it! Thanks for highlighting this revamped area.

Today the 'Garden of the Gods' Virtual Reward 3.0 was my 500th Geocache.
I wasn't planning on reaching a milestone this long weekend, but it was only up the mountain did I realise that we had to plan which cache would mark the momentous celebration.
Launched on 1/1/23 this cache has helped me reach the goal, for that I thankyou Team BGF for putting it here on our route to be able to celebrate this with the stunning views.

My partner and I wanted to make the most of the beautiful weather today. So we went for a drive to the Mount Buffalo Chalet Precinct.
After completing the Ad Lab, we ordered a drink & snack at the coffee van. I then realised there is a virtual here too.
That sky walk is definitely worthy of a fave. The Garden of Gods views are fabulous!
