Wow, what a fabulous place. We did the chairlift across and came back via the suspension bridge Im with a group of muggles so virtuals are pretty much the only caching Im able to do.
Passing through on my cycle around Tasmania. What a beautiful place. Thanks for placing this virtual cache and bringing me here.Photo attached.
TFTC such a beautiful spot. With the cache app open on the hunting partners phone.
Today we visited Cataract Gorge so we could do the Duck Reach walk and find a few caches. Keen to collect as many virtuals as possible so ticked this one off. My selfie is terrible so attached are just name/basin shots. TFTC
A family trip to Tasmania during the school holidays since I was the only one who had ever been here and that was only 2 days in Hobart. So there will be a bit more exploration this time since we flew to Launceston instead for the start of the trip. What a magnificent starting location for the trip with a chair lift one way and a walk back the other way Thanks AddisonPascal for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun. A favourite from me.
Well about time i logged this virtual cache here at the Cataract Gorge , Launceston . I was in Tasmania for a couple of weeks and on some days so i got out to visit some caches . I caught the bus up to the chairlift in the Gorge and then went on chairlift up to the cafe where i had a very welcome hot chocolate as there was a heavy coating of frost all around - see photos , - and then returned on chairlift and walked back up to the bridge on the path past the most amazing crystals embedded in the rock face (earth cache) and took lots of photos . I walked over the bridge and then back down into town and watched a boat come up the gorge and turning around before going back down to the Kings bridge. thank you for this Virtual cache .
Photo with a pantspeople path tag and the first basin attached. Completed our Cataract Gorge walk by returning across the suspension bridge, and ticking off the photographic requirement for this virtual along the way. A very picturesque and grand gorge it is, and well worth every change in elevation on the physically demanding hike we did as part of our visit. Thanks AddisonPascal for the virtual and the reason to pause and soak in the lovely natural surrounds. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. We (the pants people) pay our respects to Traditional Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
Great spot to visit. Pretty nice day to be out enjoying the lovely sunshine.Tasmania trip 2024 with Kittykatch. Working to get all states and Territories in a year and counties. First visit to Tassie so excited to experience everything. Thanks for getting me out and about AddisonPascal
TasmaniaJoolay and I have travelled to Tasmania on a caching holiday. We are hoping to see as much as we can in four days and find a bunch of caches. We had a great walk around the trails here and cool to see the views from the bridge. Answer sent to the CO. Thanks for the hide AddisonPascal
Wonderful spot! 6 of the 7 caught the Chair across; I kept my feet on the ground. I rang across this to be able to log the cache. It was pretty amazing, my log is clearly running though
Visiting from Victoria for my youngest brothers birthday! Absolutely phenomenal spot, walking across suspension bridges always freaks me out a little
TFTC. A well placed virtual cache. Only had my caching puzzle book with me so here it is and it may contain a spoiler
A while back, jetstar had flights to Launceston from Brisbane for $150 return. What a great opportunity to grab a new state, some new caches and meet some new people. Oh there was one other purpose, North Tassie. My caching buddy feels the cold so was a little sceptical to the timing and had second thoughts to the idea when I mentioned it, however flights were booked and the weekend finally arrived. Off the plane and over to get the car, all sorted and straight up to North Tassie. Job done I can relax now, that cache has just filled my Jasmer and my Ausmer. It was a nice walk in those grass plants are pretty thich. I was so happy to get this one. even got a pic for the occasion. Then it was time to grab a couple more before checking into the room and then off to tonight's event. The sun was just setting and the area was turning dark very quickly. I had driven right down to the end of the road and we walked over the bridge from there. A couple of pics taken and a moment to take it all in. What an interesting location, thanks for bringing me here. On the way back to the car we stopped and did an earth cache, but it was getting very dark to see. Just then a security guard came along and told us we couldn't park where we were as it was a $5000 fine. We said we were leaving and played the tourist card and left without the fine, lol.
Six months ago on a very warm Brisbane day, Chamad found cheap return flights to Launceston. So with little thought, but 6 months to plan, the flights were booked - for a whirlwind 3 day weekend (travel time included). This was day one with the arrival in Launceston about 3pm. Enough time to get some caches before an event dinner and then get some more caches until late into the night. This was a late night visit. I was here 25 years ago, in the day time. It is a beautiful place.
Our travel group visited the gorge this morning. What wonderful views. And the animals were much less elusive than they were at Cradle Mountain.
We are having a 2 week holiday in Tasmania, we have been having great weather, sunny days and loving the trees in their autumn tones. I had been here before many years ago and I enjoyed another visit today, thanks for bringing me back and a fav point.
We are currently on a eight week holiday which is mostly spent in New Zealand and Australia. However, the first three days were spent in Singapore as a nice break from an otherwise long flight. We had about three weeks in New Zealand which went by too quickly. The remaining five weeks are spent in Australia. Last night we had the ferry to Tasmania from Geelong. Picked up our rental near the ferry and drove to Launceton where we will be staying for one night. We arrived very early. Luckily our room was already available. After settling in we went to explore Launceton and the surrounding area. We had a nice walk in and around the Cataract Gorge. Naturally we crossed the suspension bridge and took a photo. Nice view from the bridge. Thank you very much for this virtual.
During our beautiful two-month trip through New Zealand and Australia, we arrived in Tasmania by night ferry. We pick up our rental car and drive to Launceston. We arrive early and still have plenty of time to explore Launceston's Cataract Gorge. We take a nice photo on the suspension bridge because of this virtual cache.**AddisonPascal**, thanks for the cache.
Big thanks to AddisonPascal for creating this cache! Your effort brought an extra spark of excitement to our geocaching quest. This discovery was find number 1,115 for us, marking another memorable moment in our adventure. Living and traveling full-time across Australia in our Coaster Bus, we're always on the lookout for caches to uncover. Currently, we're in Tasmania, planning to explore this beautiful island for around 18 months or so. To see more of our travels, feel free to follow our journey HERE...
A beautiful view while walking across the bridge. In town for the weekend so spending today grabbing some caches. TFTV

#2734 This is my day 258, and the longest physical cache find streak so far. I want to see how far I go. I am on a family vacation in Australia, and Tasmania road trip is our main highlight. Today, we visited Cataract Gorge and found some caches.Thank you for the cache!-crystaloops from Taipei, Taiwan @ February 17, 2024 11:59:58
In the area today to tackle the Adventure Lab and the other caches that have popped up in the area since our last visit a long time ago. This was the simplest of the caches tackled today and our photo shows Mr Beetle on the bridge. Thanks AddisonPascal.
Enjoyed the walk around the basin. it must have been a good flood to take out the first bridge. TFTC
While visiting Cataract Gorge, I collected the nearby caches. At least the requirements to log this cache did not require answering all the difficult questions like the other nearby earth caches.
Visiting from Canberra with Aramil. Im not good with heights so took photo from where I felt comfortable. Our geocaching related object is a phone with the geocaching app open, Aramil is holding app, Im just holding it together.
Here with runner5ive and grabbed a quick snap while he was okay. I am holding the phone in his post.Lovely location and lots of great short walks and different vantage point.
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find.We chose to come an explore this fantastic gorge today with chrisant2017 and family. Loved hanging out around this bridge as there was a cool breeze, which was welcome on a warm day. Thanks AddisonPascal for placing the cache so we can do this cache.
Out with Happy Feet 1 enjoying the area. Grabbed this one while passing and hanging out in the area.
TFTC!Photo of petrified pancake2 (hating heights but braving the bridge and forcing a smile for the photo) Pancake1 loving the view and bridge.

We decided that today was a good day to walk around Cataract Gorge, thankfully the storm held off until we had finished. We didn't do a chairlift ride but we did walk across the suspension bridge. Thanks for the virtual AddisonPascal.
Completed this cache on an afternoon exploring the Gorge. I've been here a few times before but always nice to visit again. Thanks for the virtual.
It was a lovely, fun filled week with good friends as we explored Tassie and its many delightful treasures. Definitely a holiday, but a holiday with that type of friend that steps up when needed, so they were very supportive of my need to detour or disappear occasionally for a cache. 'Are you loitering again?' as they called it... my loitering at trees, bushes, walls, signs, bridges, statues... well, you know!I was very keen to stop at this virtual, and we made it the first stop of our trip. It was a lovely day to walk the loop and enjoy the area.
Came here for the swing bridge and did a walk in the gorge. Very nice area but super sunny and we wished we had brought water with us. OCW cherryfromtheblock. TFTC
Conpleted VC with Ricardinho We loved our day at the Gorge, even if the weather didn't play ball for the morning. A few pics from our day there & fav point from me Day 12 of our Tassie/Sydney trip, and today is Launceston & exploring the Cataract Gorge.Weather wasn't really playing ball in the morning but we didn't let it stop us & up side was a few less people at the Gorge The scenery is beautiful here even on an overcast rainy day & the sun did occasionally sneak out too After lunch we explored city park & I enjoyed the monkeys And last outing of the day was a quiet walk around city streets admiring all the beautifully maintained old homes while RNZ sorted the church caches he'd solved the day before.Another awesome day in Tassie TFTVC
We loved Cataract Gorge. It was going to be the place I would host an event, if I had been organised enough to put one out.The weather was not great for most of our visit, but it fined up nicely before we left.TFTVC AddisonPascal. Added plenty of photos here from our day.Day 12 of our Tassie trip, and today is Launceston. We didnt have the best of weather this morning, but this is our only full day in the town and we have to make the most of it, so we were off to Cataract Gorge for starters. We sifted around there enjoying the scenery and wildlife, scraping together enough info for some earthcaches and visiting an oldie just up the track a bit.The afternoon fined up a bit, so we explored some inner city parks before going for an afternoon walk to nut out church micros and look at old houses, something close to RG72s heart.Another great day, loving exploring this state.
Found this Virtual Cache while in Launceston to pick up our new van, ready to convert to a camper. I had a little time to kill before heading to Davenport to hop on the Spirit of Tasmania and it was suggested to me to visit this awesome spot.Loved the chairlift ride over and leasurly walk back via the suspension bridge. (I also did the Earthcache here too for Earthcache Day Ive added a picture of the closest traditional cache container with my log to substantiate my visit as I didnt have anything with my geocaching name on it and was using my phone camera (as well as the gps device to locate cache info.)Cheers and Happy Hunting Southern Cross Caching
Found with McAdies and Jelly_Bean14.We are on holidays in Tasmania. What a great spot and thanks for placing a cache here for us to find.

I headed here after work and was happy I arrived after 5pm as there is no parking fee!
Walked around to the bridge and was about to get out Mt phone to take the photo when a herd of muggles descended upon the bridge and made it sway.
I must be getting old because I’m leaning against a lamp post as I write this and I’m still swaying!
Thanks for the virtual!

We come here every time we visit Tassie (from )! Kids rode the cable car for the first time and had a blast.
I always enjoying coming up to the gorge, a beautiful place in the world. With all the water tassie has had lately the basin was very full.
Back in Launceston for a few days to visit freeness and family, this afternoon with a bit of time free decided to go for a drive and find a few newer caches that have been published of late.
Thanks for the cache

We love this area and had to bring the kids so they could see as well. After a nice loop walk, we took the chairlift as they hadn't been in one before, then afternoon tea at the cafe andxa chance to check out the peacocks and wallabies.
Find #12801 @ 14:02

Jetstar was having a sale…. in the middle of winter, for a destination further south than I already live. That sounds like a great idea!
So a plan for a 4 night whirlwind tour of the northern part of the state was hatched. I’ve seen lots of this beautiful state, but haven’t found a single cache. With plenty of challenges to tick off, and a long list of targeted caches, this week is the time to turn that around.
It’s the final day for this trip, leaving St Helens for Launceston via more of the coast and then inland through Campbell Town and Ross.
The gorge was in flood today and part of the trail had been closed due to imminent overflow, but not nearly as bad as the last time I visited.
Thanks AddisonPascal for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Are you visiting the mainland? Check out some of these caches on the nominees list for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The shortlist is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)
