22-Nov-24
A sunny and hot day followed Suscoe today as we cached with our great friends Phetlern. We had a most enjoyable day together. We headed to the Charles Sturt Uni area of North Wagga and surrounds and then back across the Murrumbidgee to find a few more Ad Labs and caches on a hot afternoon. We left our joint sticker on the log sheets as well as writing our names on a few logs.Thank you to all the cache owners for the work that you have put into the caches that we found. We enjoyed the effort put into the containers and the locations. Thanks to Mrs.Roosta for this virtual cache, we have sent our answer to the question. It was hot at the plane this afternoon.A favourite.

As we head quickly toward the end of 2024, we decided along with fellow Victorians Suscoe, to make an effort to tidy up our cache finds and the appearance of our geo-maps before we begin setting our goals for 2025. A trip to Wagga Wagga was arranged and we thoroughly enjoyed finding a range of different caches, many very cleverly created by CO's.Our last day in Wagga Wagga and temperatures forecast into the mid 30's, so the same strategy as previous days - caching in the morning and then mostly did Adventure Labs in the afternoon, with a few passing caches chucked in for good measure. This was one of the caches we found today as we worked our way around the geo-map cleaning up Lab caches and the occasional Bonus cache.Image attached and info sent to CO.Our thanks to 'MrsRoosta' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.38492*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*

We had a lovely drive out in the country on our way back to Canberra via Wagga Wagga and Woop Woop This was a must-stop along the way. There had been a lot of rain overnight, and there was a LOT of water lying around on the ground. There were half a dozen young people in the nearby park playing in the water that is usually just a depression in the grass, rolling around in the temporary pool and splashing each other. Thanks for the cache, MrsRoosta!* * * * * * *I was geocaching in Albury/Wodonga for the weekend with DARKSIDEDAN and C10A.I added over 100 finds to my previous total over the weekend! All logs signed DQ10.Thank you to everyone who has placed and maintained geocaches for us to find. Love your work

Day 2 of mogni and sir_spectre visit the ACT. Today was a much more relaxing day, only travelled from Wagga Wagga Yass. We found abut 40 caches and 16 ad labs. Today we targetted some caches to help with challenges and high D and/or T. Lots of cache guardians were seen, the bulls made me the most nervous. Any caches that needed some attention got it.Answers sent by sir_spectre.Thanks to MrsRoosta from mogni RazzRed FaceBig Grin

I was targeting virtuals to get my count up to 100, only have 9 to go. Answers sent. Nice clean park. Nice to see some military history. Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to Canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favorite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and every different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally Canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.

This was the next one we decided to call past. Gathered the information and Rapidlywild sent it off to the Co and got the green light. FurfacesLL #1 reached out and asked if I would be keen on a Wagga weekend, sure sounds like fun. So plans were put into place that we headed East after work and planned to be in Wagga in time for the evening dinner event. It was a fun weekend away, caught up with cachers we know and new cachers too. We spent the morning with other Canberra cachers doing some team finds, which we had finished and FFLL and I went our own way. We decided to follow the GPS slowly making our way North back towards Wagga Wagga. We had made our way back into Wagga to attend todays event and once the event was over, we went off to do some more caching. Been to this location a number of times, as most of us have, so gathered the required info, sent to CO and grabbed the required happy snap. Thanks for the virtual placement MrsRoosta and thanks for another enjoyable weekend away FFLL.

This one has been on the to-find-list for far too long. So today being car-less but in town with 6 hours up my sleeves, I decided on finding this cache. I walked over to Bolton Park and after finding some nearby Munzee's (yes, I was 'THAT' bored), I finally found myself at GZ. I have been past this plane countless times and even taken photos with it, but I never knew the story behind it until reading the cache page. Photo of myself with the plane has been added to this found log and the answers required have been sent to the CO. TB visit and FP given. Thanks for adding this cache to the game. Travelling through Wagga Wagga on our way to QOGM Iain Longreach we discovered this Virtual cache. Unfortunately it was impossible to read the plaque due to extremely bright light early morning. We had to wait for our return trip to get a photo of the plaque and get the answer to the question. A cloudy day or late in the afternoon is a better time to read the plaque. Its an interesting looking plane.

After having a delicious lunch down the road, we decided to get a couple of caches or ad labs. We didn't have long and this was nice and close. We had noticed this on the way into town so it was nice to come back and have a proper look.
Thanks for bringing us here with the placing of this cache.

We have asked ourselves that question so often but rarely, if ever, have we had a cache help on with the answer. We had noticed this previously and did wonder why exactly there was a plane on the edge of this grassed area. (Papi4506's log has the necessary photo, didn't see any point in posting it twice. Hope that is ok? )Thanks for placing this cache here.

No Find #8217

I’ve been looking for that window of opportunity, a few days, to get across to WW to do some the various trails in the region. Finally a spare long weekend and plans began to form.

At the recent Mega in Rutherglen, I’d mentioned my intention to barb2e and she was keen to join me. Plans were almost abandoned as the Academy Games crowd had virtually booked all of accommodation out within a 50km radius. Thankfully camping is always an option. Well for me anyway

Then opportunity to meet some local cachers, and COs of some of the much anticipated trails, meant an extremely early start to get across to a community event though this was the perfect way to kick start the long weekend.

With some specific target caches, plus so many AdLabs, the Pub series, W.W.W. Trail, Friends series, Riverina crop series, Riverina Geocaching's Geotriad Tribute Series, and so much more. There was enough to keep us going for weeks but only had four days. Oh well, we gave it a good crack.

Apologies for the generic logs as this never does justice to the work that goes into placing and maintaining all of the caches that we have so enjoyed finding.

It’s been fun!

Thanks so much MrsRoosta for putting out and maintaining this cache. And of course for getting me out and about and enjoying this area too

Passing through on the way to Canberra and stopped to have a stickybeak at this one.

It's a very sleek and compact machine for it's vintage. One of my parents serviced and overhauled aircraft engines during the war and made a career of it after, so may have worked on these types of aircraft. They were always keen to attend any airshows they could get to, especially if there were going to be any old warbirds flying.

Leaving it a favourite point to make a safe landing on.??
