We became aware of Guido's talents when he started to paint a mural on the wheat silos at Coonalpyn in South Australia. It was an oustanding creation - the sepia tonings were a highlight fir us. So when we discovered that there was another piece of his work at Charleville, it was a high priority to visit. The same qualities that attracted us to the Coonslpyn mural were evident in the one at this site - another high quality mural. The required photo is attached to our log. Thanks hatzoff for bringing us to this mural and thanks for the cache.
After making it to the Northernmost point of Australia from Melbourne we are now on the return journey south. Currently camped in Charleville, exploring the town and completing a few caches. Great artwork that brightens up the silo. TF placing this cache and showing us the mural.
Very interesting that Guido came out here, would never have known were it not for this cache-cheers hatzofff!!
Found on a walk around town on dusk. Attached photo with gpsr. Interesting spot for a virtual cache, thanks hatzoff
Enjoying our wandering around Charleville, finding caches, doing the Ad Labs. Here is our trusty motorhome, Freda the Fiat, at the water tower. Not always easy to find a place to pull over when we have the motorhome out and about. TFTC
Found myself on a bus and they stopped at the train station for a freshment breakAnd decided to walk around the corner and have a look at this one in the dark.Pretty colours in the dark.Probably way better than seeing in the day.Cheers for the virtual
My husband and I are on a trip from Brisbane to Charleville to find some caches to qualify for some challenges , especially GC9YTB9 to get camping and fire nearby attributes for September.I love these water towers and the artists are amazing . I saw a photo in the gallery of it lit up at night so i thought it would be a romantic place to visit. Thanks hatzofff for taking us here .. What a great day to be a geocacher
Great art on a grand scale. These huge murals are a much better looking than gray concrete
Driving through town on a mission to get as far north as we could in daylight we had just enough time to grab this. I love water tower and silo art TFTC
Tftvc. Had spent a week doing some of the silo trails in Vic so this was a bonus .
Today is the first day of my Three Corners tour, visiting all three of Queensland's remote western corners over 12 days. It was a very early start today, with a long drive from Brisbane to Charleville ahead of us. This provided only limited opportunities for caching unfortunately. As I had recently cached along the Warrego highway as far as Roma on my Carnarvon Gorge trip anyway, I saved my caching stops for west of Roma. Finally, we have arrived in Charleville at the IGA to grab some last minute fresh provisions and heading toe servo to fuel up. I managed to detour past this virtual on my return trip to the IGA and snap a couple of photos to claim the find at [15:12] . Now it is time for a beer at the longest bar in the southern hemisphere. Many thanks hatzoff Pete#7,963
Continuing on with my well earned 2 week break and after staying in Rochester, Hay, White Cliffs, Cunamulla, Toompine and now Im in Charleville for a few nights (after my very big detour due to lots of road closures) its time to stop the long drives and find a few caches that Charleville has to offer over a few days.I have been out and about finding close ones and some further out caches as well and also which ever ones grab my fancy. The sun has finally come out and it great to feel some warmth again on the body. After finishing of a great series Im now just picking off green dots that are on my map and this was one of them.I love a good bit of water tower or silo art and I usually go out of my way to visit them.Bu hows this there is one right in town. Thanks hatzoff TFTC.
Always love a virtual. I hadn't expected to find one on my journey out west. But cool. We also visited the twin pained tower in cunamulla. Great designs and great place for a v cache. Thanks for placing.
Day two of my two week road trip. Beautiful day for caching.I was last in Charleville in 2021 and there was only one geocache. Had to come back and collect a few of these newer caches.
Virtual caches are fun and we enjoyed that this one highlights some local art work. Thanks for creating this cache go to hatzoff.
Doing some caching around Charleville with goingplaces2 and came along to check out this mural on the tower. Thanks for the cache.
A good quick find amongst all the letterboxes and Adventure Labs. TFTV hatzofff

Staying at Hotel Corones for the night - and this was one of the spots visited on a pre dinner walk. Awesome water tower, and I loved the way its lit up at night.
We travelled into the outback of Queensland - towards Charlesville. We did a lot of puzzling, research and planning in the run-up to our tour.Charleville againWe planned to spend a few days on the trails around Charlesville, Morven, Augathella and Cooladdi. We had beautiful weather - and a wonderful time in the Queensland outback. We enjoyed the breathtaking landscape with its red sand, impressive animals, starry nights and golden sunsets. We would like to thank all the owners for the great cachesTeam sissifalke

OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Visiting Charleville for a few days, using geacaches to show us the sights of town. Lovely artwork here. Tftc
We are staying in Charleville for a few days geoing. We have picked a windyday tube out and about. Stopped here to check the water tower artwork out.
We were in Charleville again on our way home from QOGM. Time to find another cache or two. I love these towers becoming art works. Subject not much interest to me, but I can appreciate the work. Being from Victoria, if I even liked any sport itd be AFL!
Lovely art!Found on a sojourn all around during QOGM 2023 adventure. A fun jaunt with lots of dust, mud and starry skies. Thanks hatzofff and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Day 16. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.A quick stop in Cunnamulla over night and today we are out power trailing.A nice piece of artwork. Thanks hatzofff for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? DAY 11We have finally made it to Outback Queensland in the company of RoamingHowie heading towards Longreach and the QOGM festivities. Heading north, we hit Charleville. With limited time we picked a virtual and some quick adlabs before heading back out towards Augathella. Thanks hatzofff for the Virtual placement.
Found with Geo hubby while on our way to QOGM events. hatzofff, thank you so much for creating the virtual here for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip through Broken Hill, Tilpa, Bourke, Cunnamulla, Charleville, Tambo, Blackall and Barcaldine to attend the QOGM at Longreach. After QOGM I travelled solo to Emerald, Biloela, Monto, Gayndah and Kilcoy on my way to Brisbane for a few days before a return drive back to Adelaide via the north coast of New South Wales, central NSW and the Riverlands. We spent two solid days of entertaining caching in the area around Charleville, Cooladdie, Augathella and Morven before heading along the Landsborough Highway to Blackall. Thanks for the Virtual Cache hatzofff!
Heading to Longreach for the last QOGM with Team Crackers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506.Stopped to look at the awesome artwork. Thanks to all the Co's for making this trip, more enjoyable.
As soon as Geoturtle37 caught sight of this, we were going to have to stop here. More than happy to do so as the art work is incredible. Added bonus was this cache you placed. Thank you.
This is yet another awesome silo artwork. It is quite an incredible feat to make the art look correct on a curved surface. We were going to visit and was happy to see that someone had taken the trouble to place a cache here in case we hadn't noticed. My photo is included with that of Papi4506. Thank you for the cache.
Catching up on a missed logWe are heading up to Longreach for the last QOGM with The Drovers, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 naturally stopping to grab any caches that come on the map aiming to get as many LGA's as we can.We love these Virtual caches as they are nice and simple to complete even if there are muggles around. Today we had the place to ourselves so we wandered off to find the nearby trad first and then came back to complete the logging requiementsMany thanks for bringing us to this great location hatzoff, our photo is attached below.
I completed this Virtual cache as I travelled up from Adelaide with FeatherWaite to the QOGM event at Longreach. The plan was to head to Cunnamulla via Broken Hill and Tilpa, then up to Charleville to complete the mass of caches that had been published since we were last there a year or two ago. From there we were planning to go to to Longreach via Barcaldine, although the exact route would depend on how much time we had available. The weather was a little warmer than we had anticipated, but it made for some pleasant evenings as we camped out along the way. Most of the caches were found without any issues and were in reasonable condition unless otherwise indicated.A favourite point from me for a nice, straightforward Virtual cache with uncomplicated logging requirements! Thanks hatzofff for the cache.
On our travels we found ourselves in Charleville and took the opportunity to grab a few caches and who can pass up a virtual, congrats for being chosen to place one
On my way to QOGM while in Charleville I took the opportunity to visit this water tower..
Something special or unusual goes here:Something that identifies me huh [?] That would be ME! The Generic Bit:QOGM adventure - I was able to catch a ride with Muff1 who were heading to the QOGM event and team up for 3 weeks of caching adventures. 3 weeks in a swag - will my back hold out[?]Day 6: Today we moved northwards again from Wyandra to Augathella once again finding many aches as we went. A lot of preparation and puzzle solving before the trip started was now starting to pay off. Sometimes I was lucky just to be with previous finders who shortened some searches for me. **SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. - BOING*****Thanks hatzofff for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. *** Logs prepared and published through GSAK.

QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 6. Charleville Day 3. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. After a day around town yesterday today was the day for the back road drive to Augathela for lunch. I was happy that is it all went smoothly and they were all found. We managed to jump through all the hoops to find the GZ for the final. Once we had finished up in Augathela, we headed home and managed one or two more while visiting other cachers for after work drinks ! I can't wait for th full QOGM crowd. After a full day on he road, It was fun to stop here and grab an image of this tower. Thanks for the cache hatzofff44089.23 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & December 2020 Gift of Geocaching A#431**Albida**

32,598. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 6. Well the trip was well and truly underway. I have never been to a QOGM before, and since this was the last one I decided to head up there for the fun. We are staying in Charleville for 5 nights so I can really hit all the trails around the region. Today we are doing one trail up to Augathella, and another trail back to Charleville, with the usual town caches as well. This was the next find of the day. Love a good easy virtual !Thanks hatzofff !!

We are now on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next month. As we missed the big event here, it was now time to grab some of the caches around the area. Another big day today, doing some of the trails around the area. Today it was with Liz and Bruce, which is a nice change from my solo caching.
This was an interesting piece of art, so well done.
Thanks hatzofff for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Thanks hatzofff.
Thanks hatzofff.
Along with Freddo we were in the Paroo Shire caching for a few days. We came to Charleville primarily to complete the Adventure Labs but picked up a few caches as we went.

Departed Melbourne the other day and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel. Leaving Surat this morning I decided to head back north again via Roma and across to Charleville for the night. I'll be heading out first thing in the morning, a little more west and north towards Longreach and Winton
A quick find passing through town on the way to somewhere else

On a road trip to QOGM 2023 in Longreach with MorganEd from New Zealand. ??????????????We are signing logs as MEec1, ME for MorganEd and the ec1 is for me.Stayed here in Charleville last night and hoping to make it to Jericho for an event tonight so only stopping for a few caches along the way today and this was one of them.Paula kicked some goals at the local Park Run this morning while I packed up camp and then we added some more smilies to our maps that we hadn't been able to do last year and this was one of them.We had visited last year but not sure what SD card my happy snap was on so we called here again today.??????TFTC??
I always stop for the virtuals, this was an interesting one for sure

How to get all the counties, or councils, or "LGA's"?....... well, I have learned the hard way, albeit quickly, to do the "hardest" ones first!
We could have just driven from Canberra to Perth to get the amount of kilometres, but instead we thought we would push ourselves a bit harder, drive a bit further.....and do the south west corner of Queensland!!
It has to be said now....Queensland is a bloody large state. I mean ridiculously large! We drove east back to Brisbane for almost three full days! Yes, we stopped for a series of letterboxes, and all of the 'county' areas, and even a FTF, but it was ludicrous!
After our flight from Canberra, and collecting our rental, we head off west from Brisbane, on a mission to collect every LGA we could get.
Aquilus1 lost her voice after the first day, which made the rest of the trip much easier for me....I had to do all of the talking, and it helped I could argue both sides of every argument....and I always won!
Outback town hotels and pubs are so cool, and I love stopping at them. When I started caching I was wary as I only knew city pubs, which are very, very different.
I tried many a schnitty, and the odd steak, pizza or burger.... this truly was the outback pub tour of Queensland.
The Qantas museum was a special highlight, as I am a proper Qantas fanboy......I have done waaaay too many miles on the red roo!

Greyhams and I have been on a mission to see as much of Australia and visit as many of the LGA's as possible for some time now. This trip was Queensland, flying into Brisbane and a full 8 days on the road stopping for as many of the caches of interest we had time for as we passed through.
Leaving Brisbane northwest was our direction, as far west as we could go all the way to Birdsville. Of course, it is a Geocaching trip so it zigged and zagged as needed to cover the areas required. Yulaba, Charleville, Barcaldine, Ilfracombe, Longreach, Windorah, Birdsville, back to Windorah, Quilpie, Thargomindah, Cunnamulla, St George, detour to Moonie for a FTF, Wyaga, Warick and the home run back into Brisbane for our flight home.
Love the driving as we left behind the trees and entered red earth and sparseness, always a surprise though passing through areas of yellow grassy plains, although generally open flat land in all directions was what greet us. Wildlife was in abundance and never have we seen so much. Emus dominated for 1000's of km, cattle as we passed through their grazing lands, but also pigs in numbers we didn't expect. Echidnas, goats, horses, a giant goanna, foxes, and birdlife that does well on the overnight roo casualties. Still no camels though, they have to be out there somewhere!
The country hospitality was a highlight, great friendly people, Queensland hotels full of history and character. They all were great but the Wellshot in Ilfracombe needs a huge shout out for being the stand out of this trip. Leaving the car at Windorah and flying into Birdsville not only saved a day of driving but the scenery flying low over the countryside was spectacular and memorable.
Also memorable was waking up on the second day with the best case of laryngitis I have ever experienced... no voice, none! To top it, it lasted the full trip only returning by the end, I'm not sure if I pity GreyHams for having to deal with me squeak in an attempt to talk and silenced, or he had the best trip ever!
The days were full, either full of km's or caches but never dull with so much to see or do. The caching grounds are rich thanks to the QOGM events, it's definitely a great location to hold them. Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that helped guide us as we travelled through Queensland on a great trip.

When I heard there was going to be a Virtual cache coming to Charleville, I thought what a lovely idea considering the majority of these types placed are close to the Coastal areas.
Enjoyed reading the related story on the murals as well, very interesting.
Thanks hatzofff for placing this Virtual in a lovely Outback town, a favourite point coming your way.

Patrol14 and Imbunda who are always up for great time, Joojoo57 & Richmond Lad, without whom this milestone might not have even happened, and finally the Munna Culla Snack Ninjas… PirateLinda, Giraffe18 and 2manytrailers… I couldn’t ask for better travelling companions… never change ladies… I love you all…
Finally, thanks Hatzofff for keeping this virtual in your pocket, and a secret… well played…
Some stats for this trip 4,708km, 82 hours of driving at an average of 60km/hr, 4 snack bags, C&$k sucking cowboys in Cunnamulla, the infamous dance of the shingle back outside Morven, 4 bags of trash, over 400 caches and 1 lonely DNF on an archived cache…
