Im not a philatelist but Ive long been aware of Norfolks wonderful stamps. Glad my muggle buddy loves the long history celebrated on Norfolk so here we are. And for me its like Norfolk has been a myth or has at least has been in the imagination mirrored by faded school lessons for so longnow the dream to visit Norfolk Island is real! The holiday suddenly looks busy busy with a schedule of tours, events and 70+ caches to find. From the first step on the island everything has been fabulous. Cache found quickly and logged as VIIPERS - a crew of caching buddies from Vic and Tassie ( who include cybergran V, SciFiRulz, Riddell, icybeetas Weirdobiker) TFTC and the fun.

I liked this puzzle. One I solved at home one lunchtime as our trip approached. The subject matter appealed to me as my father was an avid collector and now I have his collection which contains some of these First Norfolk Island stamps. For many years I also bought all the stamps issued here. These days I feel Australia Post has gone overboard with new editions considering the number of letters sent. Still now I've been here I will be examining my collection again. The cache was in another picturesque location, especially on his glorious day.TFTC # 6065

(11 of 21 today - including 5 Adventure Labs)A lazier morning for some in our group, but I hit the trails to clean up a few missed caches (5 for me) in the island's north with **Jackscruff** before teaming up with the rest of the Woof Patrol (**Calypso 62**, **Goldberry17**, **FunFurMe** and **creativechookie**) for the afternoon's finds - mostly in the south east quarter - totalling 10 plus the ALs. In between the two I visited the Settler's Museum. Wish I'd had longer, but just had time to get around all the exhibits before joining everyone for lunch.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###Luckily I'm old enough to remember all this currency. Unfortunately that also means me eyesight failed me so I got a red light on the checker. Magnification is a good thing! Then overcomplicated it before realising it was much simpler.Quick group find again.Added my ink to the log, replaced and away.SLTNLNTFTC

# 8947 Norfolk Day 3, team "Dem CBR" myself, iPlod65, Joolay, barb2e and contesta had another fantastic day of caching and exploration. We started down at Kingston with our host for the morning: Endevour3. It was cool and very blustery today, but not enough to discourage us. Then it was off to east coast to grab some more difficult caches. Lots of climbing today, but always stunning destinations. Finally off up to Captain Cook Pt for a couple of amazing spots.A quick grab here. Some logs signed collectively "Dem CBR".Thanks endeavour3 for the Mystery Cache

Gee did I make this difficult for a simple puzzle. It all started with not seeing some of the detail in the stamps and essentially went down hill from there. It's a gift I have... Twisted

After failing to satisfy the checker, I reached out to the CO who kindly highlighted a 'should have gone to specsavers moment and advised what I was missing. Oh, really, they are what... [?] With the info now obvious, I quickly had a set of coords and a green tick. Red Face

Taking in the sights of this part of the island this afternoon, I pulled up and nipped over to GZ for a quick find. [^]

Cheers endeavour3.

TFTC,
Day 7 on the Island and back into some walking to caches. Our aim was to finish the 10 remaining caches on the Island so that we don't have to panic tomorrow.
A quick solve at home and a successful find.

14-Nov-22
This is definitely my favourite find this week as it took me to a part of the island that I have never visited before. And it was a mystery that I could actually solve by myself and that doesn't happen very often.

What fantastic views these beautiful houses have. They would make the trip along this road really worthwhile.

It was an easy find at GZ and after signing the log I went off to further explore the views.

On the 15 Day of October 2022 I was transported from the Mainland to Norfolk Island to serve 7 days in detention. On arrival at NI, I was transported by the Bounti bus to my prison quarters at Ocean Breeze Cottages.

Early in the morning on 16 October I managed to escape the prison accompanied by another (muggle). The guards were still asleep as we absconded in a Honda wheeled vehicle. We thought New Zealand may be closer so set of heading East.

We could see an Island to the South and thought that might be a possible place to do the first jump. We surveyed the cliff lines and Ocean water below as we fled along this path. The views were breathtaking and we kept thinking to ourselves why is it we wish to escape.

Eventually we were licked and just sat back and enjoyed the views.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Thank you for the puzzle.

10-Sep-22
Find Number 2524 found at 11:17. Today we found 10 caches. We had 0 DNF's.

The final full day of our trip to Norfolk Island was even quieter than planned. We held an event in the morning, had the afternoon free and our "Sound and Light" show in the evening was cancelled. After the event I went after some of the solved puzzles and bonus caches.

This was a fun little puzzle which I had solved before leaving home. The hint made it a quick and easy find.

The cache was in good condition. We signed the log and replaced the container as found

Thanks endeavour3 for the cache.

Time to head to Norfolk Island to celabrate our 70th birthdays. When we were here before we were not geocachers, this visit will be spent gathering geocaches and revisiting our favourite places. Our appologies for the generic logs it does not take away the enjoyment we have found in the fantastic places they have been placed and all the different styles of caches that we are enjoying,

Found while out on a little cache drive with my Dad, had an amazing time picking up solved puzzles around the area. All these caches have taken us to every nook and cranny around the island and I’m really enjoying it so far!

We couldn’t solve this one for a while, so its just gone into the ‘stuff to solve’, which is kind of embarrassing as when we looked at it this morning, we quickly found out what you had to do and had the checker green light shortly after.

With fading light in the late afternoon, we headed out again to grab some newly solved puzzles, finishing in the dark up an 'impassable when wet' track - that's a fun afternoon!
I felt a bit like a dill for taking several attempts at solving this, I did some serious overthinking, but got there in the end.... Samuel found the cache at GZ... TFTC!

What a surprise… a new puzzle cache published while we’re here on Norfolk. Glad it wasn’t too hard to solve.

This arvo we headed out to find the cache. ‘Tis a lovely part of the island and we suspect there might be a nice view too but today, in all the mist, all we could see was white.

Thank you for the cache and puzzle and luring us to a part of Norfolk we hadn’t yet explored.
