A quick find to fill a micro dot day. We were very pleased it was a cold wet morning as there was no one around. It would be very hard to be stealthy at this one. tftc
I had passed here a while ago when the cache was in its previous location but had not attempted it owing to the presence of muggles.I couldn't even approach the new location today as it was too close to families and kids enjoying using the play equipment on a lovely afternoon. As I am not likely to be caching in Masterton on days when the weather isn't so good, and I normally come up on weekends so I can use my Goldcard on the train, I may not get a chance to try when the place is quiet!
recently moved around 500 meters away and while going to the park with my brother wego to find it often even though we know where it is tftc!
#14,794. After our DNF back in June 2022 when the cache had gone due to new development here, we returned today to Roberts Road in Lansdowne, Masterton for another attempt. Fortunately, the GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of a search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and *.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*
Found on a short holiday to this beautiful place. Thankyou for your contribution to geo caching
Coordinates changed from:S 40 56.627 E 175 40.649Coordinates changed to:S 40 56.652 E 175 40.635Distance from original: 165.3 feet or 50.4 meters.Hopefully this spot will be a little less prone to muggles, although plenty of stealth will still be needed. Please place it back in the exact same spot to stop it accidently getting cache-napped.
Cache appears to have been muggled, these are only remains I could find, log nowhere in sight.
I don't think I had been to this part of Masterton previously. There was no surprise about where the cache was hidden but a some extra effort has gone into making this a better hide than what I normally see at such locations. I just managed to complete my mission when a car pulled up with a family who were there to use the nearby facilities.
Easter weekend, and with the paradox that only family can create, I both need to be in Wanganui and not in Wanganui at the same time. Today I spent the morning with family and then was able to free up the afternoon, so once again it was off a-geocaching I did go. Quite a few DNFs, but still managed to sign 51 logs before I ran out of steam.
As I was making my way south I made the short side trip here. No problems finding the cache as described and expected.
Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.

A day trip to masterton from hawkes bay just for something to do. Find a few caches and have a coffee.
This was a quick find. Lucky was quiet today wouldn't want to search on a busy day.
Thanks for placing the cache KiwiDragonfly.

A nice quick find. I almost left as there were 2 council mowers about to start mowing. Then they drove off down the road! lucky for me. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north". Today we drove from Masterton to Wellington to catch an early morning ferry. The weather got wetter the closer that we got to Wellington.

A nice quick find after we gave the dogs a quick run around and waited for a muggle to leave GZ. Now off to Maccas because we deserve a cold drink and an ice cream. TFTC

Initially we were muggled by someone who found the obvious location irresistible on a very hot morning. After getting sweaty ourselves waiting for them to leave, we left and came back when the temperature was a lot cooler. Easy find and in great condition, TFTC
Heading back home after Christmas at grandma’s. Decided to find a cache on the way. Luckily no muggles around today - could see how this could be a tough retrieval at times.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thanks for restoring this one.
I wasn't hopeful of being able to do this one on a Saturday but thought I would give it a try on a day trip to Masterton.
Sure enough a muggle was occupying GZ and I needed to move on to get lunch and do another cache at the other end of town.

Stayed the night in a tent at Carnival Park Pahiatua. After this morning event, I went down to Masterton. Thanks KiwiDragonfly for the cache.

Finally back in play. With the redevelopment of the park it has become so popular it took me about eight visits before I could replace this cache without being muggled.
I believe the park rebuild has been recently completed. I will investigate and hopefully reinstate this cache in the next several days.
Looking forward to doing this one in the future when it can be enabled, will give me an excuse to explore the nice looking eating and coffee places in First Street area that I "discovered" today on the way to another cache!
With the new development here this cache has gone. I will look at restoring it once the work has been completed.
Will need to investigate this one. With the park being redeveloped it may have gone.
It appears that there has been significant reconstruction at GZ and we didn't find the cache nor its likely host.
In the mighty wairarapa today as the weather is a lot better here than tukino so this is plan B.
This was our first stop and a very quick find here.

Passing through masterton again and i noticed that i had not logged this cache so it is a rather late log . all was well with the cache and i took nothing and left nothing . Thank you for this cache
Travelling down to Wellington for the second week of school holidays. Last year we cleared all the caches in Masterton so it was good to see 8 newish ones for us to find today. Parked up the campervan on the main road and got on the bike for a bit of exercise. No trouble finding this one or the other seven we looked for. Thanks Kiwidragonfly for the smiley and we look forward to some more caches to find next time.
2 April 2022 11:46. Another new cache, and another quick find (no 10941 for me). TFTC KiwiDragonfly
#10,929. I had seen a few new caches published over in Masterton in recent weeks and decided today was the day to come over and look for them. The weather forecast had improved and in fact it was quite a warm and sunny day over here in the east. I picked up Infoferret from her home and we headed over here in the morning. I enjoyed reading the history of this park. I really like philanthropy. People take so much from the world they live in and its great when they start to appreciate how rewarding giving is. I managed to find this one after reading the hint. Yes you would have to be careful placing this. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks KiwiDragonfly for hiding the cache here.
3rd to find at 17:58. I think I may have see the first two finders leaving the park as I arrived. A good hide and that must have been difficult to attach so a favourite given. TFTC KiwiDragonfly and for more history about important people of Masterton.
FTF with Swamidoodles. Brilliant to see new caches in the area. I laughed out loud when I found the cache, nice humour. Really appreciate your new caches kiwidragonfly. Thanks so much. I left a little trinket in the cache for next finder. Tftc
Found with Worded Poet (FTF) just lucked out being up the hill! Lovely traceable type coin to log and send off.
