As we arrived here Master 9 realised he had dropped his tamagotchi somewhere!!!! The bench was very full and Miss 6 was needing lunch so us girls sat down to a picnic on the grass and the boys went to hunt the missing tamagotchi! I couldn't believe but they found it a few caches back. Lucky! Which we picniced the bench came free so we jumped to sit on it and finish our lunch but also had a good clear chance to find this one. Nice quick find once we got to sit on the bench. As we were leaving we got such a bonus adventure as the person who monitors the local traps had caught a hedghog right here (few days ago) and was clearing and reseting it. Kids had so many great questions for them. TFTC

Another sortie into G-2Land this morning trying to sign off some caches close to the estuary on the northwestern side.I moved my cachemobile to another spot that would be central to this and the next two caches.A couple of muggles wanted to sit on the seat just as I was about to replace it. I had a good talk on Geocaching and told them this GZ for the one I was holding in my hand. I did eventually replace it.Cheers for the cache, G-2.

This was a very well placed seat and we used it to stop for a drink, a bite to eat and to let some muggles pass by.
When the coast was clear the cache was quickly located.
Nice to get a quick find after some more challenging caches along this trail.

I am up in Orewa this afternoon to take a walk around the Orewa River Estuary via the Te Ara Tahuna Estuary Cycleway and Walkway. I parked up at the main car park, near the skate park, and started my, better part of, three hour hike and caching expedition. I am heading in the anticlockwise direction. As I approached the obvious ground zero I saw that a family of muggles was taking a snack break right where I wanted to search. No issue, I simply walked around to Arran Point to collect the last Orewa Ad Lab waypoint (ironically there was a young couple in the way there too, but I was still able to quickly collect the waypoint and snap a pic of the view there). On my return the coast was clear and I was able to execute a super quick find. Cache wasn't hidden exactly as the hint implied, but it was in a sensible spot so I returned it where I found it. Cheers for the cache placement!

A nice easy find on a blisteringly hot day. Thankfully there's a seat to sit on whilst completing the log and taking a breather.

Decided at short notice to spend a week in Orewa as our original camping plans had been stymied by the cyclone Gabrielle. Quite a few branches and sticks lying about, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be too much damage here. Lovely weather now and a great geocaching trail around the estuary to explore. Lucky us! The number of muggles here was quite right - so we got out an apple and timed our search in between bites! Cache is all good. TFTC

I came to New Zealand with my wife on honeymoon ??It is hard to log all the caches, I found here in New Zealand, so excuse my mass log for caches around Orewa, please ??At first i started with caches around Estuary Cycleway, then to Red Beach, Hatfields Beach, Millwater and Silverdale. Some of the caches are now disabled as i can see, and some of them were disabled, but were on place. After consulting with owner I made maintanance on some of disabled and missing caches.I found many really nice caches...it was awesome, but i think, that some of them (for example Bison caches) have too low D/T combos...but owners are really helpful, so I managed to find each of them. I usually borrowed bike from my brother in law and then in the early morning, or in evening went geocaching. I really liked that routine. So Im really thankful for all the caches on/near Estuary ??I need to write here, that I really like nature in NZ...its a big difference between Europe :/So TFTC, guys, and especially The Wonder Stuff for placing and G-2 for placing and hints...and sry for mistakes in my poor English...have a nice day(s) there and u should come to find some caches here in Slovak Republic ??

Tried to do this between muggles. Let's hope the one that suddenly came around the corner thought I was proposing to the wife.

Went for a drive today and stopped off at a few places to collect some caches. Noticed some gaps on our map around this area. Parked up nearby, made our way to GZ and made our first find nice and quick. No muggles about for now.

Found it! Will have to come back to sign as I've miss placed my pen along the path on my walk this morning

30-Apr-22
By the time I arrived here I was already too warm in what I was wearing (I had been cold when we left home at 6.15am) so took the opportunity to sit down and repack my bag with the extra layer. A surprising number of people around on the paths this morning, despite the early hour. Guess this is the "big smoke" (comparing this to my usual pozzie of behind my desk at home in rural Auckland zoning)! When all that was done and no-one in sight I quickly found the cache, autographed it and had to wait out some more poeple before replacing. Thanks for the hide G_2!

Team work with with RafaJaw before event in Orewa. Another pleasant one. Many thanks for new hides in Orewa.

Gosh, I remember coming up here about a month ago and finding all the caches around the estuary... I had a lot of DNF's that day and this happened to be one of them :/ I see it has been archived now so I wonder if it was there all along, or if it actually was missing? A mystery that'll never be solved Razz

tramyard and I had time for one more cache and this one happened to be the closest Smile To my surprise, we jumped back in the car and drove around to the cache... This was so close to the previous cache and as I'm usually caching while walking/biking, this short distance would've been such a luxury for me. Wow, caching in a car can be a LOT faster! Arrived at GZ and the clear hint pointed me straight to the hide. I suspect this was hidden in a different location to the previous incarnation of this, because I do remember checking under here last time... Oh well, MOVE ON RafaJaw - It's archived TFTC G-2!

Nice easy find while on a bike ride to Millwater. TFTC

Anzac weekend. Long weekend away been arranged staying at Orewa Camp Ground, with my parents, we have a cabin each and my sis and bro-in-law are staying at Manly beach camp ground. It’ll be a weekend of eating, walks and chatting. Now I'm caching with my van. Getting all the hard to get to caches that I can't really safely leave my e-bike at.

I believe this is the 3rd cache here by this bridge I have done. No worries with this version, just had to wait for the coast to be clear of muggles. Thanks G.

17-Apr-22
There was a gap in the cyclist dog walker traffic just long enough to grab this and sign it.
Daddypig did his engineer thing and noticed the addition to a nearby property.

27-Mar-22
Out for a days caching with a crew of Westie ladies, and we had time for a few more caches before heading home. We sat on the seat, and while watching the muggles cycle past gz we reached down and felt the cache. Using a TOTT we extracted the log and returned as we found it. TFTC

Down from Whangarei on a caching mission with Team G0LD today to get some numbers in the general Orewa area. After a successful detour at Warkworth for a trail of 8 FTF's, we carried on to Orewa proper. Our plan was to do as many around the estuary as possible. A nice quick find here. TFTC

26-Mar-22
Team G0LD had planned to cache in Orewa today, get 50 caches and clean up that area. Such a nice surprise to see new caches published just out from Warkworth. We made the short diversion out that way and picked up 8 ftfs as a bonus. What a fantastic way to start the day. Grabbed a couple of other ones enroute to clean areas up before reaching our target area.Pete messaged me a while ago to say I had not logged this find. I haven't gotten around to looking it up but I'm working shorter days now so I'm getting around to a few things. I definitely remember wandering down to this one so happy to add another find to my tally. TFTC Smile

26-Mar-22
Out with Team Gold this morning (0B80B8 and Liscrew) to collect a few caches to keep our numbers up. Had looked for a cache in this area a few years back and failed. Nice to collect a smiley this time. TFTC

After attempting the cache around here before which sadly is now gone we decided to rush back here because we were in the area. After making a quick dash to GZ we notice muggles happily sitting where we had to be, so after waiting a while the people left and we made the search and then had the cache in hand. {FTF} #6 TFTC
