After arriving in Kuranda this multi had to be done. The answers were quicklebendig found and the final was on the way we had to go anyway. I had to search for a moment but then I had the box in my hand.TFTCmagicchicken

Up to Kuranda for the day and the GeoKids had fun solving this one. A stop to relax and stretch when we signed the crisp fresh log. A clever series and great cache earns a FP from us.

Found this one in the visit to Kuranda! Well.... I did need some help from some fellow geocachers...The cache is not in great shape but the log is still kind of dry so i was able to sign. Tftc!

We came along here to host an event for SideTracked week and checked out this cache as well. Located the cache site and had to do a bit of a rescue, but all is good now. We really enjoy finding caches in the SideTracked series and enjoyed the time we spent in Kuranda. FP for this cache. Thanks go to dat87 for placing this cache which was located where muggles are constantly passing, but it is still easily found as their focus is on other things.

Made a find here with goingplaces2 while the muggles continued to stream past. Log was signed and everything was put back together and hidden again. TFTC.

Greetings from Wales. We continue our Australian adventure in the northern Queensland area and today we headed south from where we are staying in Port Douglas to take the Skyrail cable car to Kuranda. After a spot of lunch the rest of the tribe went shopping and I chose to grab a couple of caches. As I gathered the info I was told that our booked train was cancelled which was extremely disappointing. Once I'd sorted the numbers I wandered to GZ where the cache was found in a very apt location. Log signed and micro-geocoin liberated so thanks for bringing me here. Fave point for a lovely multi.

04-Aug-24
TFTC - this was our first attempt at a multi cache and a great introduction to how to complete them. Lovely station at Kuranda with lots of history

Today was a very early start with a drive to the airport for a 6 am flight to Cairns and day one of our North Queensland geocaching trip.Snickersallan and I were met at the airport by Grannysmith and Bluewattle. The bags were thrown into the car and we were off for a day of adventure. First off it was up to Kuranda, then across to Mareeba, down to Atherton and Millaa Millaa. It was then over to Innisfail before working our way back to Cairns, to arrive just in time for the night time event. It was nice to see a couple of locals turn up to the event, thank you.In Kuranda and what a great little town. We got going on this multi and were not stealthy enough as a family of newbies spotted us and joined in on the fun. Was very nice to meet team coulston and share some experiences with them. The log was signed with all four names and the family name before it was replaced as found and we continued on. Thanks for the hide and the placement, a worthy favourite point here.

We visited Kuranda today, took the skyrail first, and this was good as there were no crowds of tourists at a time. So it was not difficult to look for the container at the final coordinates. We really liked the hiking spot. Thank you very much.Kind regards.schuhlstroo

03-Jul-24
Found the clues just as the train carrying a horde of tourists arrived. A very appropriate hide for the cache.

Found the coordinates but failed with the cache... Sad

Found it - first find in far northern Queensland Second attempt for some of us, after not finding 2 years ago. Well worth a trip up the sky rail with Limbage, CodyGamer19 & Logiesaurus

28-Jun-24
Found with Princess Juzzy, CodyGamer19 and LogieRaptor on an epic adventure to Kuranda. We went up on the Sky Rail, then decided we needed to get our very first Queensland cache, so off we went to the railway station. We soon had the final coordinates in hand, and set off up the slope. Passing some JWs, we then figured the location from about 10 metres away, and the cache was in hand as we muddied said hands. Thank you for this cache, we enjoyed a great start to our Kuranda, and Queensland, journey, which was continued from the aforementioned station.

Very nice trainstation. Thanx for this multi to make my stay more interesting!

Container is pretty rusty, can't open to sign. Fun cache to find. TFTC.

02-May-24
May 2, 2024 1:03 PMAfter a look around Kuranda Markets and a visit to the Butterfly House, our next stop was a visit to the Railway Station to attempt this multi. But before we headed down we just had to wait out the first of the afternoons heavy downpours which hit just as we parked the car! Had a bit of a look around then to find the answers to the questions. Enjoyed learning about the history of the Railway then, after waiting out yet another heavy downpour, made our way to GZ where Mrs P put her hands straight on the cache. ( you probably already know this but the container is so rusted that the lid cannot be opened to sign the logbook. Pics taken for proof-of-find). A FP for both the location and a well put together multi that worked first go! Tftc and greetings from us from Ballarat.

I got all the information I needed but was unable to find the cache on the way up to town because I was in a gaggle of muggles. However, I came back before leaving on the tram and found the container. I am awarding a favorite point because the container was very well done. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had a goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. I am staying in Port Douglas for a few days and today was a day trip to Kuranda. I loved the train and the tram on my journey to and from there. The city itself was touristy, but I enjoyed my visit especially since the weather was nice the whole time. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.f

Sixth day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. We arrive in Cairns at lunchtime. What do we do with the interrupted day? We use it for a ride on the Skyrail ?? over the rainforest to Kuranda. The trip was well worth it. A great experience. The train station blew me away, so beautiful! You don't have to be a fan to be impressed. Of course, we did the multi straight away. We quickly discovered the information at both stations, made a note of it and the sum checker was correct. We searched for a moment at the suitable finale until we got hold of the container. We signed the logbook with our team abbreviation DownUnder24 to save space.Thank you for placing & taking care Smile.Sechster Tag in Australien ??.

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today was travel day and we went from Melbourne to Cairns.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????.

We were in Kuranda Australia off of our ship - Holland America's Volendam - for the afternoon and knew there was an Adventure Lab and this cache there. We did the Lab first and then collected the information for this Multi and went to GZ. After communicating with the CO, we were given permission to log the Find. Thank you for that and for taking us to those interesting places by the railroad station.

Removed the new container that a previous finder decided to replace (without our permission) and returned the cache to its original container and location. Plenty of space on the log. Happy caching!

A day around the northern beaches and up to Kuranda late in the afternoon. I got some good butterflies today dk my cache count was a bit lower than hoped.A last minute decision to head to Kuranda for a couple of hours. Town was dead after all the tourists left. All quiet at the railway station - only managed to get one number wrong on this one. A nicely designed cache at a very appropriate GZ - added a favourite here.TFTC dat87

Such a nice train ride up to the warm jungle of the station, a very interesting place to learn about. Timing my search was the hardest part of this and needed to come back because of how busy it was. TFTC and the puzzle. Logbook was ripped up, so I signed a small piece of paper I assume was put in by the previous finders.

After a great day at the reef yesterday today some sightseeing in and around Cairns. And trying to find some geocaches along the way.
Today went with the train up collected the answers but made a mistake so I was slightly off. After some sightseeing double checked my answers and found my mistake. Not so busy now luckily so had some time to look around and found the nicely camouflaged cache.

And so I also found SideTracked - Kuranda and converted into a smiley.

dat87 Thanks for the cache. Greetings from the Netherlands ????

Wednesday. Had to pick this one up as we were in the area! I spotted the wee blighter but Mr Slow Puncture couldn’t believe I spotted it when he saw the container – it’s the same colour as the object it’s attached to and is really rusty. So good to grab this one and we then went and enjoyed a lovely cuppa at the local coffee shop just a few metres away. Beautiful area and so moist! It’s bone dry where we live.

This was the 3rd of 14 caches found on this outing.

Thanks ***dat87*** for showing us this place Razz

Found on a trip up on the train. Photo sent to CO as proof as log wasn’t signable. Interestingly the coordinate checker said I’d got the coordinates incorrect, but still ended up in the right place - go figure.

Arrived in Kuranda in the morning quiet and before the hordes arrived on the train.

Number easily collected and then a quick find on the well made final container

Thank you for hiding

Departed Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully Smile), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Enjoying a few days around Cairns (before the misses flys in on Thursday) doing some touristy stuff whilst grabbing some geocaches around the local area. On Friday, the next stage of the trip begins, Cape York!
Went for a drive north today and finished up at this lookout, great view!
All the clues were easily decoded but my initial coordinate check failed due to one of the sneaky letter transpositions but I sorted that out quickly. The prize was a little harder to put my hand on due a few muggle but mostly because of some very clever camouflage.
**Thanks for placing this cache dat87**

Apologies for the late log here (07.01.24) but I've had a busy time since getting back to the UK.Logged out of sequence, which burns, but here we are.Up here on impulse - I was really just asking about ticket prices, but the train was about to go, so... yeah - and poorly prepared, I enjoyed my walk around anyway. I looked in the wrong place for this to begin with, but a check of my maths and a rethink got me to a good GZ for a QEF, even with muggles around. Nicely done. Thanks for a fun one on a random 'side mission' sort of day (one of many many on my voyage around Oz).TNLN-TFTC!SP (UK) on an epic trek right around the world.

AustraliaA country that has fascinated me for a long time. But the distance to get there was just as great as the desire to drive there. So it was dreamed but not implemented. But then our friend nalfion moved again. And this time to Down Under. That gave the go-ahead to plan a little more firmly for the first ideas and fantasies. The bosses were asked about a longer vacation and then we went to the travel agency with our rough ideas. For such a complex thing we wanted to have support. And after a few appointments there, the basic structure was in place.During our summer holidays we went to Sydney via Singapore, where we spent 2 days. 2 days in Sydney city and then we went with a small camper van with the whole family via Katoomba to Cairns. Our friend lives in Adelaide so ended up staying there for a few more days at the hotel before heading back to Germany without any lengthy stops via Melbourne and Singapore.A wonderful holiday that at least brought us a little closer to this huge country and gave us many great memories.Today we went to Kuranda by train and back with the skyrail. The view wa always amazing, only the Barron Fall was a bit dissappointed due to the dry season. The town itself was nice but obviously really touristic. Still really nice for a day trip.We arrived a bit ahead of our timeslot for the way down. So we had an empty train station and were able to find all nessescary answers and than after a quick calculation the cache as well. Thanks for the cache.

We were here - Joodie & Joodax
after work walk, wine and relax!
dat87 Thanks for the cache and yellow dandelion.

I still can't catch up on my sleep deficit. In the evening I check my emails, log a few caches and it's so late that I have to rush to bed or I won't wake up in the morning. Well, suddenly Joodie's alarm clock rings and the planned program begins, where there is not much time left.
It is a fact that experiences accumulate and there is not much time left for caches. But there's nothing you can do, I have to make room in the program for a couple of caches.

So I was very grateful for this cache that fate threw our way on the train ride to Kuranda. We were supposed to take the cable car first, but when we wanted to book seats, it was not possible, and when we remembered a month ago, they were already only for the return trip. Well, then it started to rain and it was down the cable car. After almost two hours of waiting, they took us back by bus and it was done. It's a shame, we will never look here again. But that's life.

However, this multina was great. So simple, in the end thematically linked by both the location and the box. In addition, we were full of impressions from the 1911 wagon ride around Barron's Falls. I must obligatorily assign FitiPaldi here ️️️.

Pořád nedokážu dohnat spánkový deficit. Večer zkontroluju maily, zaloguju pár keší a je tolik hodin, že musím spěchat do postele, jinak ráno nevstanu. No a najednou zvoní joodie budík a začíná naplánovaný program, kde teda moc časových rezerv není.

Měli jsme prvně jet lanovkou, ale když jsme si chtěli zabookovat místa, nebylo to možné a když jsme si před měsícem vzpomněli, už byli jenom zpáteční.

Lovely day in Kuranda today. Took the sky rail up to town, spent some time looking at the market, looking at local wildlife, and of course, finding the few geocaches here.

We solved this one shortly after arriving, but lots of other folks were coming in too, so we came back later in the day for a quick find. TFTC

This was a lovely sidetracked multi with a very fitting final. We have been to Kuranda on a few occasions but as we always either used the cable car, bus or car, we never ended up at the train station. A real shame, since this is indeed a marvel of a station. It was fun solving yet another sidetracked cache and making the find soon after in between the showers.

Spent an enjoyable day at Kuranda. I somehow missed seeing this multi on my earlier river walk so returned after lunch while the rest of the gang were checking out other attractions

With clues gathered and coords plotted, I made my way to gz. Very interesting structure. A stream of muggles kept on passing, so I had to time my opportunities to search. Blended in nicely, so took a few goes before getting my hand in the container. Very nicely done!
