Is this the only omnivorous turtle up there?Oh, this sparked some intense debate in the car, after we finished our morning hike. How can a turtle eat frogs?I meant, I dislike frogs so much that Im actually phobic to them (have you seen me logging frogs of the World Series? Not much!)But this turtle eats them I guess the enemy of my enemy is my friend?I still dont like turtles. I think they pretend to be slow but they actually can runThanks for the cache DSD
Well I learned a few things this morning:1. Indian Flapshell Turtles are omnivorous.2. These creatures possess short, stout noses with the lateral ridge missing from the nasal septum (as to whether or not this is common in the turtle world, I cannot say but shall dedicate any future chelonian research towards this query).3. The word plastron can be applied to reptile anatomy.4. There are some awesome walking trails in behind the old paintball spot in South Tuggeranong! Thanks for the cache Dan, delightful way to round out a pre-work expedition.
Im heading out to get some geocaches in the area. This is number one for the dayThanks for the cache!
Quick drive-by as I leave the Mega in Canberra and head down to the Snowies for a few days.Cheers
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. Wt
Up early to beat the forecasted rains. A quick park and grab as skies opened up. TNLNSL TFTC
Found with fitzy_1965 and albida33 on a walk out the back of Tralee.
I solved a nearby puzzle with a few nudges from barb2e so we decided today was a good day to walk up a hill.
All caches along our route were made quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Found on my way down south. Quick find at GZ with no one around. There used to be a cache here years ago, great to see another one now. TFTC DSD!
I had somehow ,managed to arrange to go for another walk this morning, so I collected Fitzy_1965 in Civic and we headed to the car park at the base of the Old Tuggeranong road. A little bit worried about the lasting impact of Saturdays epic hike, we headed up the trail from the cache on the highway to the railway line, and then headed along to the currently southern most cache I had not completed and then returned to the car for two other southern district caches before heading home for a break until it was time for the group assault on the Woden Flood memorial multi that needs a really long tool. It was a fun day and the walk just manageable.
As we exited the car we headed over to this first cache of the day. At least one was simple.

29,693. Found with albida33 during a meander around South Canberra this morning.
With one of this year's self imposed challenges being a calendar one [yes I know - one of many ], I needed a number of caches today. I headed into town with minniek, and was picked up in civic by albida. Down we went way south, and started caching. This was the first one on my list, and was in a familiar area. A nice simple find once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then headed off to the next one on my list.
Thanks DSD !!

I had just enough time for this one and one other cache while SO and Ra had an appointment nearby. A nice quick find before heading back to collect them - TFTC
Another quick find while passing by. Log signed and then it was off for another one.
Thanks DSD....
Thanks DSD....
I found myself in the area and as I was walking back to my car I decided to also quickly snap up this one.

Parked nearby for a quick find before heading up to Evel Knievel. TFTC.
A quick pickup on our way up to cycle along the old train track. Plenty of people around today enjoying the cycle track. TFTC DARKSIDEDAN.
Nearest unfound to my place, so a start to a walk up the rail line today. Easy find in the usual spot. Tftc

After this morning's event I headed off for some solo caching. I started with a FTF at Sherwood Forest, then dropped in to Tidbinbilla for a pleasant walk. This was followed by a bike ride to a prickly find at the southern end of the Bullen range. A puzzle that took years to solve was next, then this quick and easy park and grab. TFTC.

**This Cache:**
DSD placed this cache whilst on our walk today, well technically this is where he parked the car so it was placed before the walk started! A nice easy one before heading up towards the abandoned railway.

**Today:**
Abandoned locations are my favourite spots to explore so I was excited to see some more caches pop up along this impressive train line recently, I have walked along it many times in the past and will always take the opportunity to do it again!
I have been eager to do these since they came out, and today with a free morning and some company myself and DSD set off early for a couple of hikes along it!
