Logs
Since my last visit to the area just before last Easter’s Mega, 39 new hides had been calling me to return. I’d been saving them for a ‘rainy day’ which came in the form of the final (and still tedious) Signal labyrinth challenge.
With the Mrs roped in for company (and to take the driving duties for the survivor series) we set out to collect the remaining range caches before heading through the back door to the Towers.
Survivor is one of my favourite shows, I’ve even applied to compete a couple of times. I’m not sure I’d do all that well but I reckon I’d have no trouble finding idols without any hints. No trouble with finding any of the hides here with good coords.
All good here.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the series and getting me off the couch.

My last visit to the Charters Region is now about one year ago. How time flies!? Back then I was able to clear the entire area, which filled me with quite a feeling of success. That was especially the case for getting all these old multies that really want to make sure that you see lots of the city and particularly of many remote roads.
Then it was great to see that numerous newly crafted caches emerged in light of countless new cachers visiting the region for last years Mega event. The memories of several midnight road trips out to long dark remote roads in hope for signing logs first are still strong in my mind.
Fast forward to today and I finally have the time to return again to this region and search for the new additions. Thank you very much Cachedin NQ for creating this cache and showing this location.

In the area with Selva Girls picking up some caches as we head south and this was one of them. This series was the next and all caches were found without any trouble and are all in good condition. Good coords and good size containers.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Continuing our caching adventures, Konie and I were headed to Charters Towers. We decided to stop off at the caches in this series. All were quickly located and logs signed. With everything returned as found, then we continued on our way. TFTC
Havent had much time to play for a long while, had the chance for a school holiday drive today to entertain the boy children before they drive us all insane.... #haveboystheysaid..

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 78. Charters Towers Day 1. After a restless night and an early wake due to some very noisy birds, I headed off for a days caching. I finished the caches along the Gregory Highway and went out to the weir and threw in a few pirate caches as well. Apart from lots of grass and associated seeds, the day went smoothly and I was home in time for a late lunch and some logging.
The main effort was these roadside caches that all went smoothly today and were all in good condition. If I had any doubts about a location, the hint helped.
Thanks for the cache Cachedin NQ

Currently out and about picking up smileys this fine Wednesday in order to help Signal escape his current predicament. Today I’ve returned to the survivor series which came in handy for our daily FTF streak in the lead up to the Mega. Thanks Cachedin NQ for placing these. Stretching the legs of my trackables too.
Today we were driving further afield, doing the TTHS series of caches, and then a few wider out on the return trip.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the caches.

Total Cache Finds 12978,
Packed up camp and headed just a little further west, along with ilook4geo, for a couple of days to slowly work on the caches in and around Charters Towers. There were no problems in locating each one and both names were stamped on each log to record our visit. We definitely related to the people in this show as we enjoyed watching the series and were glad we did not have to do the challenges. Thanks go to Cachedin NQ for placing this series of caches.
Time to move on again and continue the hunt with goingplaces2. Found all we looked for today, signed each log and replaced as found. We enjoyed finding the caches in this series and watched the TV show as well. TFTC.
After the MEGA events in Townsville, we headed towards Charters Towers where a variety of different cache types are waiting for us.
Let's do The Tribe caches now!
Thanks to all COs who put them out.

We decided to start caching a little bit earlier than usual - best decision ever as it started showering later in the morning and then it just rained all afternoon.
We completed the tribe series as well as many other interesting caches north of Charters Towers.
Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches.

Out and about today caching along this road and finding a number of caches. The weather looks like it will rain later on, so we need to find them quickly. Found the cache and then moed onto the next one. TFTC
Day 11 of the long road trip from Western Australia to Townsville, Queensland.
Today was caching south of Charters Towers then north of the town where a first to find was jagged before returning and caching within Charters Towers. The second Adventure Lab and associated Bonus cache was also completed.
This cache was found without problems. Log signed and the cache returned as it was found.

Having a great time making our way to the Townsville Mega with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Geoturtle37.
We have made it this far and have a couple of days up our sleeves so decided to set up camp for a couple of days and wash off some of the dust. It was an interesting sensation to not be rumbling along the road with the dust in our face, eyes . . . . . We attempted a few caches in town but the muggles were a little prolific so decided to head out of town and do what we could of this series. Please excuse the generic logs but we were having a great time, chatting, laughing and sometimes almost forgetting what we had stopped for.
Thanks for placing these caches for us to find.

We are heading up to the Townsville mega with micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506 chasing as many Adventure Labs that we can along the way.
This bought us to Charters Towers where we decided to camp for a couple of days and just do a bit of ;leisurely caching before the mega.
We had a little bit of trouble in town with muggles so we decided to head out and try our luck at this series, not that we have ever seen the TV show but we have seen the ads so we understood the terminology. It turned out to be a great idea and we had a fantastic afternoons caching.
All the caches were found right where the GPSr said and all were a good size, we weren't hunting for nano's in the bush. We apologise for the generic log but when you do a lot of caches in a row they all blend into together. We in no way want to take away from the effort and expense that's gone into the placing of this series that we really do appreciate.
Thanks for these caches CachedinNQ
I soon cooked up a cache find here
Yer khanh hide a cache from me out here
