Driving up to stay at Tatura for the events tomorrow.Collected a few AdLabs and caches on the way.No fruit to be seen this time of the year. The peppercorn seemed to bear a single cache though. Thanks, Robmc.
Continuing on with my well earned 2 week break and after staying in Rochester, Hay, White Cliffs, Cunnamulla, Toompine, Charleville then Cunnamulla again, Wanaaring then Hillston for the night. So (after my very big detour due to lots of road closures) its now time to continue head back south towards home. The sun is still making an appearance after being cold and windy for the last week and it is good to get the suns rays onto you to bones.Up early to take a few more untravelled back roads and a nice stop in Oolambeyan National Park which was an old station that is worth a visit. So after Mathoura, Barmah, Undera Im finally at Tatura where I am staying for the night. Before checking in I had time to tour the back roads to find a couple of caches first.I will admit that I dont even know what Pomegranates are and what they even look like but I do know about caches and I found one of them. Thanks lorigus74 TFTC,
#5560 After finding the apples cache it was onto the pomegranates. Again no issues locating the cache container in the roadside jungle. Not a fan of this fruit but always a fan of making another cache find. TFTC lorigus74, fun fact, gz is very close to Mr BGF's bro's work .
17:34Staying in Shepparton for a few days, we had an interesting day, out & about, finding a variety of caches, thinking of the Anzacs and attending a fabulous Central Victorian Annual Get Together -2024 Event in Tatura. This series of caches certainly creates a great way to get to know the area.A BIG thank you to the CO who placed these caches.36932
Those pomegranates look huge! All I know is they look great in salads but Provides nutrients such as Vitamin C, K and Folate, vital minerals and boosts the immune system. Also they contain polyphenols which are powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. So if you are not fond of them like my passenger, think again! The tour of TAT using the caching model has been full of surprises!. Im on a multi mission and the circuitous detour from Melbs to home base in the NE via Shep and Tatura has plenty of rewards including the EVENT thats attracted a huge crowd. TFTC and the FUN!
Thankyou lorigus64, I didnt know pomegranates were grown here, nor had I been along this road either.Enjoyed both the cache and the scenery with Ronice88 en route to the Central Victorian Annual Get Together in Tatura today.Love what you are doing to grow the geocaching map here by educating us about what is grown in the area.
The car was parked and my wife stayed inside while I made the find. The local farmer came along and asked if we were ok. If I wasn't mid signing the log I would was asked if I could have some of those lovely looking persimmons over the road
Tatura staying in the RV camp area,Day 2We decided to do a day trip to Shepparton to find a few caches there. We were so glad that we went on a Sunday as it is hard navigating you way around a unfamiliar townThis was a great way to visit the area, Lots of pomegranetes noticed in the paddock next door. Thanks lorigus74 for hiding this cache.
Found with Bogonghazy whilst staying at Numurkah for a week. Thanks for placing the geocache
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. In Shepparton for a few days as we wend our way towards Canberra for the GeoBashTFTC lorigus74 [^]
Find#6123Nice hiding place What a epic road trip exploring Australia Thanks for the cache
After the week in Bright it was time to head home to Melbourne... via a longer than normal route so I could find caches in the Greater Shepparton and Campaspe LGAs... the things you do when you get bitten by the "challenges bug"... Now in the Greater Shepparton LGA, it was time to get serious as I wanted at least 13 Finds before leaving... I had managed 9 Finds before lunch so it was now time to start heading towards Campaspe LGA... and finding a few extra caches before getting there. An interesting drive around the quieter roads for this cache... a good opportunity to see the "Fruit Bowl". Thanks **lorigus74** for this cache.
Was a quick find for the geohound but not so much for LumpyR. Once he listened to the geohound he too made the find. LumpyJ just stood back and enjoyed the spectical.
So pleased to finally put a yellow smile here. bunadoorian and I had been here previously but we couldn't find it. Today I was able to put my hands on it first. TFTC and for bringing us to another area of Victoria - lorigus74.
After a previous DNF it was good to replace the frown with a smile. We found that the cache had gone missing and had been replaced a while back. Grub62 and I were in the area for an event and had no trouble finding this cache. Thank you to the CO for providing it and maintaining it and TFTC.
Geocaching is great in winter so there’s so wriggly sticks to stress about here. TFTC!
A lovely big cache here in perfect condition, an excellent way to start my caching day. We jumped the fence to snaffled a pomegranate too but they was old and past eating. Thanks for the fun.
The Trip.
A muggle friend was visiting Shepparton today to see a man about a dog, literally! They asked if i would like to come along for morale support and to share the drive, i jumped at the chance so long as i could find a few caches along the way. With that sorted i set about creating a short list of caches from the many available. I came up with thirteen which helped me achieve various goals and was about as many as i could reasonably expect my friend to tolerate before getting bored.

Found with catnap777 on Mother's Day.
On the way home from a short caching trip with mum (CybergranV) on this special day, we realised we hadn't signed a single cache for ourselves this weekend.
We had saved this one for just such an occasion. [^]

Out and about early this morning.
Thought I would grab a few caches before the kidlets wake up.
This was first on my list.
Beautiful morning.
My Uncle had a pomegranate tree when I was a kid. I remember eating them thinking that they were the most bizarre things.

Grub62 and I had a real good look for this cache with no luck. We were in the area to do a CITO and thought we would pick up a couple of the local caches while we were here. It seems that was not to be. TFTC.
Nice P&G…I didn’t know we grew Pomegranates either, but they looked almost ready to harvest when we were here!
Thanks for the fruit lesson
Enjoyed the cache container. Plenty of swaps for kids inside TFTC

I also didn’t know that there was such an orchard nearby. I did know pomegranates were an old type of fruit and had only come across them on Norfolk Island. TFTC
Found on 20/8/2022 but phone went flat before I could log this cache so logged on 21/8 and adjusted date on pc. TFTC
My first Cache ever. On my way to an appointment and decided to give it a go.
This one seemed pretty easy but was a good one to break the ice!
I think I might be hooked.

Detour on the way home fir this cache after junior netball for geogirl and a afternoon of playing pokemon cards for geoboy on shepparton. Cache in great condition and log signed. TFTC. trackable collected.
The day has brightened up considerably since we left Wangaratta in the fog early this morning. We usually enjoy a pomegranate from someone’s garden, and here is a whole orchard or two of them! Yum, just picture that red juice dripping down your chin or staining your fingers!
SL at 11am Left: TB Took: TB and of course we took a photo of the orchard with a few fruit still hanging on the trees. #8861 TFTC lorigus74

A bit of a diversion between Tatura and Shepparton had me here looking for pomegranates. Never knew they were grown here TFTC lorigus74
I would have liked to park and grab some pomegranates but I satisfied myself with your cache instead.
A real fruit fest today on these back roads.

Out trying to fill a calendar spot after work. After giving way to a tractor I parked 60m further down the road and made the quick walk back to gz snapping a couple of pics of the pomegranate orchard on the way. Quick find. Thanks Lorigus74 for the cache.

It's not often I have time to get out caching these days but today we the sun was shining, time was on our side and another ANZAC Day event was organised. The Central Victorian Get Together events started in 2007 and have run on ANZAC Day for almost every year since then. We've attended all except two.
We've had this on our radar since it was published.
Thank you, lorigus74, for this cache.
#4171. Log signed at 1447Hrs.
(I often sign the log book as "W+W" to save paper/time/ink)

Pomegranates never eaten many of these but have worked the ground for them to be planted
Can’t recall the flavour but they must be good
Thanks for the cache log signed on 15/4/22
Happy Easter to all

3TF On my way to watch the Tat Bulldogs take on the Benalla Saints at the Benalla Showgrounds on this balmy Good Friday, I thought I best grab a cache on my way. What a cool lil orchard that I too would not have imagined being here in the Goulburn Valley. Congrats LC on the FTF. TFTC Lorigus74 Go Blues
Rex and I were in Market Plaza, where Rex was given an Easter Egg from the Easter Bunny[:X] when my phone let me know that there was new geocaches somewhere in either SA or Vic![?]
I strongly debated sticking to my plan to go to Bunnings but decided that chasing new geocaches was more fun![^]
That's how Rex and I found ourselves looking at Pomegranates and Apples[^]
Pomegranates was closest so we headed for that one[^] Interestingly: caches are much harder to find, for me, with a phone and Nuvi[:o)] rather than my GPSr which was sitting in the van
After a bit of back and forth, the phone finally showed me on the map where I needed to be![^]
To think that yesterday I bought a Pomegranate to enjoy!
That's a nice sized cache, too[^]
Woohoo! *FTF* at 4.42pm
