A weekend of fun with a group of Canberra cachers. The weather was beautiful, cold and clear with little wind and it was a perfect day to be out walking and exploring and enjoying a winter weekend in Bathurst. We signed the logs as CBI24 ( Canberra-Bathurst Invasion 2024)Thanks for all the adventures and efforts to create some fun hides for the Geocaching community. Domsky
Tankengine, Youban and I left Canberra just after lunchtime on Friday and drove straight to Bathurst. We had solved many of the puzzles or at least started the solves before coming. We were looking forward to finding many smilies this weekend and hanging out with our friends. We met up with our friends and signed caches as CBI24 (Canberra Bathurst Invasion 2024). The group included Fitzy_1965, Minniek, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, GLISS!, Tankengine, Youban, Contesta, Domsky, TikvaNZ, Isopeada, Barb2e, and SmittenGranny. We had an awesome dinner at the Kelso Hotel Bistro Friday night. And attended the ever changing event on Saturday night at The Reckless Brewery Co. Breakfast was at a couple of cafes that were all good and lunches wherever we could find it. We stayed at a little cabin at the NRMA Paramount caravan park, where there was just enough space for all three of us (just). We slept ok, but the leaky taps needed attention. We had an awesome time and would love another chance to visit Bathurst again another day. This cache: A brisk morning find on the way to breakfast. Straightforward puzzle and in the most logical spot. Tftc!!!

Today, a group from Canberra (and some from surrounding areas) are in Bathurst for the next in our Invasion series. We were last here 4 years ago, but there are plenty more caches these days. This years group includes barb2e, Isopeda, Youban, DTY, Tankengine, Kittykatch, Joolay, GLISS!, domskys, FurfacesLL, TikvaNZ, minniek, fitzy_1965, Contesta and myself. All caches found were signed as CBI24 standing for Canberra Invasion of Bathurst in 2024.We had quite a long list of caches that we hoped to find over the weekend, and it is pleasing to note that most of us found all on our own list for today except one that looks as if it has fallen victim to The Winter Festival. After collecting a few in town, the main group concentrated on Peel Reserve in the morning, while others, including me, Youban, and barb2e, followed our own agendas.Huge thanks to all cache owners for the great hides and puzzles that I encountered today. I had a thoroughly enjoyable day, which has left me somewhat weary, so please excuse the generic logs. This was one of the caches that I found and signed.
Quick pick up going past. After a big walk in Peel Reserve time to pick up some solved nearby. Huge effort in setting all these up.Heading to Bathurst area for the weekend with a group of cachers to tackle the Peel Reserve puzzles and some other good stuff . Signing as CBI24Thanks for getting me out and about Joshwa27

I hadn’t intended on driving over to Bathurst 3 days in a row, but had to pick something up today so while here I grabbed a cache. Felt a bit open grabbing the cache here, so had to wait it out a bit in between passing traffic.

We have driven past this cache a few times already so about time we stopped to look for it.
What a busy spot this is during the morning rush hour! A bit scary with cars whizzing past too. Luckily the cache was a quick find. TFTC.

#22657. There is a good parking area near GZ but it was a lot of traffic, so we parked across the road and had to scuttle across a busy road to get to GZ. Another quick find (always good on a cold morning). TFTC.
Yesterday we started our trip towards Rutherglen. Our 1st night was at Mudgee & we are now camped at Bathurst.
There were so many new caches here, lomost being jigsaw puzzles which I spent many hours completing them.
Today was the day to go out & find them. It's not a trip to Bathurst without doing a lap of Mt. Panorama, loved all the caches with the conection to the big race. We found all but cache that we looked for today.
Thankyou to all the CO's for placing these caches.

TFTC. A nice quick find in between traffic. Well I had to be quick as it is a very busy road. Solved the puzzle last year. I’m visiting from the Hunter Valley.
House sitting in Bathurst, of course, includes Geocaching!
Not many about to bother us, as the early bird gets the worm
Log signed and cache replaced as found at 6:43 AM on January 5, 2023. TFTC, Joshwa27

Travelling and caching with RoddyC to Canberra & Bathurst before returning home.
It was an early start this morning to find a couple of caches that were a little hard to get during working hours. Traffic this morning was a little slow so was able to dive in and out in the breaks.

Bathurst trip October 2022. Day 1. I heard there was to be a Community Celebration Event in Bathurst on Tuesday, so I planned on a two day camping caching trip to join in. Rain threatened both days but only fell a few times, except overnight when it seemed to rain all night. The trip was Canberra, Cowra, Bathurst, Millthorpe, Orange, Bathurst and home again via Cowra. I managed lots of caches and enjoyed the trip away.
Once I reached Bathurst, I started with a few of these very topical racing caches. Some were much harder than others.
Thanks for the cache Joshwa27

Not where you probably would think it be if you park near it. I did this jigsaw this morning. Thanks for this one
We've come out to Bathurst for the weekend for a mini geo-holiday, with the focus mainly on collecting a bunch of pre-solved puzzle caches. Thankfully day 2 of our expedition is a little warmer. After a delicious and hearty breakfast with Team Canary, Its_Dozzie and GGCoconut, we set about collecting the remaining caches on our target list around Bathurst before caching our way back home. All in all, it has been a successful and enjoyable weekend with great company. GGCoconut and I had decided to quickly complete the excellent Machattie Park AL and we were a little late to meet the others here but made it just as they were getting set to leave for the next cache. Love Hawke in the background there! TFTC!

#14840 - 8:31:00 AM; Day two of a caching mission around the Mid West Region with Sol de lune. The major focus of our mission was to collect "History of...." and other solved puzzles around Carcoar, Blayney, Millthorpe, Orange and Bathurst and many other little towns and villages along our route. After a frosty start, we finished the day with one DNF along with 50+ cache and adventure lab finds around Bathurst with a final stop in Cowra to wrap things up as we headed for home. Logs were signed or stamped to record our visit. Many logs were damp, with a couple very soggy due to the recent extended period of wet weather. Apologies for the generic logs. TFTC Joshwa27
Day two of a road trip from Canberra with LuckyL10n to the Orange and Bathurst regions to grab a few of the Joshwa27 puzzles. We headed up through Cowra, Carcoar, Blayney and Lucknow picking off the puzzles, as well as a few other multis and trads that time allowed. The weather was kind to us and it was great out and about for a while.
After a great night at the Kelso pub we were out on the road by 7.45am and like yesterday, the caches were found without issue and our names were soon in the log book.
Thanks Joshwa27 for the caches, appreciated the time that has gone in the research and the setting up of the caches. Fav point added....

#6344- A quick find on the way through with thomo31 and an easy but time consuming puzzle. Thanks
A chance to get away for a Canberra Long weekend was taken and so fitzy_1965 and I made plans to head to Bathurst. It was our first try at camping in the back of the GeoMover. Whilst it was chilly, it was much better than having to set up a tent in the freezing cold. Snow is definitely on the way!
It has been a while since we headed up this way as evident by the explosion of unfound caches up this way. Always good to find a Joshwa27 cache or two but turned out to be a lot more this weekend.
All caches were found quickly and easily. Many thanks to all the CO’s.

28,142. Found with minniek during a (mostly) long weekend trip up to the Oberon/Bathurst region hunting "Joshwa27" caches.
With a huge number of new Joshwa27 puzzles being published (and solved by us), and a Canberra only long weekend, we decided to head up to the Oberon/Bathurst region for a trial run of our new Camping Van configuration. Lots of J27 caches and many other ones were the result. So much fun was had this weekend despite the nasty weather coming in on Monday. This next find was a quick one now that we were in Bathurst itself. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Joshwa27 !! An awesome weekend !

This is a great photo. I sat in the waiting room of Bathurst train station and did the puzzle. It was very relaxing. Picked up the cache itself on the way home to Springwood. Fave point for this and the many others you have put out there.
