A cache trip to the south of Canberra do some more of the Vampire series. Signing with VAT. A number of caches planned to pick up on the road and a second extra walk along the Murrumbidgee to round of a fun half day outing. and others added on the fly. A fun group outing on a beautiful late warm spring day. This cache: Awesome side adventure crossing the low river and along the river where it was so much cooler with a breeze!! Very cool and another great fox find. Thank you Tankengine for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

I have reached a part of the year where I have lots of days that I would love to find lots of caches on. This means driving trips or walking trips to area that are not easily reached on a one cache a day basis. Today I Headed to Goulburn and beyond towards Crookwell and Roslyn. I was happy that all the cache I stopped at today were found without any issues and that it did not take as long as I was concerned it might. I headed back to Goulburn for lunch and then home. A great day of caching. This was today's extra challenge cache. The numbers were gathered, although I think one of the numbers is not technically correct, it was the only one that fit. We found our way over the river ok, perhaps there should be a cache based on that spot as well. The clamber up to the cache was quite dramatic in amongst some very spiky bushes, but the view was fantastic. Thanks for the cache Tankengine49851.8 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2013 Chiron A#269**Albida**

Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC.A great day out caching with a local group signing as VAT.The morning started with a few drive bys followed by a long hike down the Gudgenby River. Lots of blackberries, spiky scrub and even a wade along the river made a challenging yet enjoyable trek.Following this we all headed over to the Murrumbidgee River for another tough river walk. This one ended up hot, hazardous and up the steep cliff side so the walk was called off after the first find to end the great day.Quick puzzle filleted by a WTF moment, followed by a lovely cool river walk.

As we were down this way mid afternoon we decided to stop off and have a look around expecting a quick find. With data collected we rechecked it twice as our GZ did 'not look right' BUT it was. Turned out to be all ok as we were headed over thata next anyway. We tried the obvious route but unsurprisingly we didn’t get far so went the other way - as you will find out for yourselves.

We found the old track and followed it all the way to GZ using an old satellite map as a guild as it's now overgrown in parts - well mostly. However, it’s still the way to go as the regrowth and uneven ground all around making the 'hike' otherwise full of trip hazards. How do we know - we tried it first like all good cachers.

A lovely view from GZ as was the beautiful moss/lichens on the GZ boulders. Finding this cache was an unexpected mini adventure that once started you just need to finish. TFTC Tankengine.

Woot! [FTF] at 1632.

A busy day meant I hadn't had a chance to look at this cache until thisafternoon. The rain was quite gentle as I made y way to the starting co-ordinates which were quite familiar - I came through here about a year ago when finding the 'Vampire' series along this stretch of the reserve and marveled at the Stream Gauging Cableway Flying Fox arrangement then.

I soon collected all the necessary data and calculated GZ, which was pretty much where I had expected it to be. Although not too far away I elected to make the 'T' rating a bit easier for myself and went the very long way around to approach GZ.

A very pretty walk in to a lovely spot where the cache was found after a brief search thanks to bespoke co-ordinates. I was pleased to see no-one else had visited here yet, although really should - the views are lovely (although I won't post my pics in case it gives the game away). As is always the way with these things I found a much easier route back to the GeoSUV from GZ then my straight-line inwards journey.

Thanks, Tankengine - I really enjoyed this multi, and it receives a favourite from me.

After orienteering near Bungendore I picked up ZQX, and we headed to Kambah to do several multis. Then it appeared the FTF was still available for this one, so we came here. There was evidence that others had been before us, but we were now out of range to confirm. We continued regardless, and made our way to the posted co-ords, collected the information and returned to the car, as the direct route was out of the question. We drove the short route to a parking spot as close as we could get, and then wandered to GZ. More evidence that we were not first. Cache soon found, confirming we had been beaten. A lovely spot for a cache. TFTC.

*STF* (IOTCFS) with TikvaNZ at about 1810.
We knew we would be unlikely to grab the gold medal on this because we could see freshly trodden grass. But we kept on anyway. Lovely gang gang cockatoos near GZ. Plus crimson rosellas. Near the flying fox I disturbed a bat and a huntsman spider - biggest I've ever seen. Nice to get out and about after being on the computer all week.
GZ was really nice too. I would have loved to have spent some more time there, but dinner was going to be on the table in 50 minutes. We had to march back to the geomobile and take off.
TFTC TE. Nice to visit such a beautiful spot and come across so much wildlife.
