TFTC smile 20255 out and about on a lovely sunny day but the morning was so cold walked past 4 times befor I struck gold Thank you Cachedin NQ for placing this cache Gold letterbox for our enjoyment
I wanted to get this last time I was here but ran out of time then - however today it was on the priority list. It was our last stop and I was pleased that the find was super straightforward. Everything was in great order and the log was signed replaced and everything was returned as found.
On my roundtrip along Australia with Oopie we are douing always some caches. All COs thanks for bringing us on this nice places and making this caches.
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. Started on the 17th September in Cairns. Our plan is driving.along the eastcoast down. Then in the south on to Adelaide and from there ending the 31th October in Alice Springs.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case Cachedin NQ, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
A big shout out to the COs for their variety of well maintained geocache types, especially all the Whereigos, the most weve seen in a single town in our travels, were loving geocaching our way around the WORLD of Charters Towers Cool letterbox cache, one of the seven cache types we found today, picked up trackable to move on TFTC Cachedin NQ, FP awarded !!!
We're back in Charters Towers for a few days and decided to head over this way to grab a few of the caches here that have a high number of favorite points. This was our first stop and it was an easy find once there was a break in the exercising muggles around everywhere this evening.

Departed Melbourne several weeks ago now and have been travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and we have loved every minute of it now we are on our way home again and having many more adventures as we slowly travel south.
Spending a few extra days in Townsville now due to a cracked chassis and tow bar mount, due to get fixed this week before we can move on again.
Out on a day trip today heading from Townsville to Charters Towers and back grabbing caches here there and everywhere
What else could the code be, great effort! And this is my favourite find count

Since my last visit to the area just before last Easter’s Mega, 39 new hides had been calling me to return. I’d been saving them for a ‘rainy day’ which came in the form of the final (and still tedious) Signal labyrinth challenge.
With the Mrs roped in for company (and to take the driving duties for the survivor series) we set out to collect the remaining range caches before heading through the back door to the Towers.
After completing the Survivor series there were a handful of labs, the virtual and this in town to target. I am a sucker for ammo cans and locks so I’m sure you’d expect a favourite point here. Anything less would be rude.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for getting me off the couch.

After setting up our swags at the caravan park, we still had time to find a couple more caches. I parked the geomobile and Konie and I headed up the hill to GZ. There, the cache was quickly located. We added our names to the log, returned everything as found, then continued on our way. TFTC

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 79. Charters Towers Day 2. Today was supposed to be a shorter day doing the remaining caches around town I could get to. It turned unto a marathon of long multis zig zaging all over town with a dash way out to the south for one final location. I then had to out wait a ground staff person so I could make a dramatic climb to my last cache of the day. Lots of success, but it all took so much longer than expected.
This is a very impressive cache in such an easy to get to location. I am not sure why I did not stop at this one in April.

After a DNF in a park in town, we were reluctant to finish the afternoon on that note so we called by here for a straightforward find. Very nicely done thank you!
I pulled over in the carpark across the road coming down from the hill, a short walk and a bit of a scramble soon had this nicely themed and sized cache in my hands, it wasn't hard to work out the code to gain access, log signed and replaced as found, a favourite point from me and

In Charters Towers for the night making our way back to Brisbane from Townsville. We decided to stop in at this one and I am glad we did this is a great cache. I managed to spot this hide. It was on my way down and it was then that my trusty hiking thongs let me down and I slipped and managed to get my foot between 2 rocks. No major damage just a bit of skin lost. So far on this trip they have climbed trees mountains you name it but here they just lost their grip. Tftc Cachedin NQ ️

In town to enjoy the surrounds and break up the Mega weekend in the big smoke. The rarer icons always catch my attention, so this was a must have as Ghostgums and I worked our way around town.

Business was taken care of and the container returned. Time to head up the hill...

Whilst the smell isn’t the most pleasant, the burn off did allow unfettered access by the posse of cachers assembled. Thanks Cachedin NQ. Might I add that there is no stamp that i could see but the ammo tin is pretty shmick. Almost FUNKy
First letterbox and it’s pure GOLD. No stamp I have been made aware, but nevertheless this is pretty cool. Visited this cache with the fleetfooted greencordial and BenM70
Great letterbox cache in a perfect location. AtTheLakeHouse and I struck gold very quickly following the CITO event and this is a perfect one for my Many Cache Types on a Day challenge. Day 7 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
The long awaited day we drive into Townsville! We did a bit of caching around Charters Towers before leaving. Definitely some great caching there and some good Adventure Labs worth doing. A simple drive to Townsville: we are all happy to finally be here. The kids were very glad to have a quick dip in the pool at the Motel before some rest before all things Mega kicking off tomorrow.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

27,567. Found with minniek during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 7 of our Townsville Trek, and we cached our way around Charters Towers again during the morning, before doing the short journey to Townsville for the main event (literally !). A couple of neat Adventure Labs were completed, as well as their bonus caches (one a real doozy) plus some other must do caches along the way. This cache was a nice quick find once we did the short climb up to GZ without getting too dirty and 'guessing' the code ! Signed the log, replaced the cache, then continued along to the next cache on our list.

Having a great time making our way to the Townsville Mega with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Geoturtle37.
We have made it this far and have a couple of days up our sleeves so decided to set up camp for a couple of days and wash off some of the dust. It was an interesting sensation to not be rumbling along the road with the dust in our face, eyes . . . . .
Once we found the correct altitude, the cache was quickly found. We met two other teams whilst here and had a bit of a chat. All heading the same way.

Team Crackers, Micaparamedic, Papi4596 and I are making slow progress towards the Mega in Townsvlle. We are having a fantastic time finding caches with a little bit of touristing in between. As we are staying in town for more than a couple of hours, we took the opportunity to look for some solved puzzles, complete some multis and grab any trads we drove past.
There were enough of us to tackle the various levels and it didn't take too long for papi4506 to come up with the goods.

Having arrived in Townsville a few days earlier for the MEGA event, Tour De Ville (TMZ59, Imbunda, Peppa and I) are taking a day trip to Charters Towers and Ravenswood to claim another LGA and find a few caches in the area.
Always enjoy finding Letterboxes and this one didn't disappoint. Located the box, checked the contents, stamped my letterbox book and returned all back to its hide. Loved checking out all the historical places here.

While in Townsville for a week we Tour de Ville (Peppa, patrol14, Imbunda, and I) decided to head out to Charters Towers via Ravenswood and claim a few caches. The history of the area is just amazing. Looks like a fire has been through this area recently, luckily the cache was outside the fire zone. Log signed and cache returned to its hiding spot. Thank you for the cache. ??????
We arrived in Townsville on 11th for the MEGA Event as the Tour de Ville Team - TMZ59, Patrol14, Peppa and me and decided to do a few trip about the outer reaches of the area and we all needed this LGA I think.
We had a very over priced lunch in Charters Towers, the smallest wrap I've ever seen and a coffee almost $20. Should have had a sandwich about $5 cheaper but nothing had prices on them.
We didn't take long to find this cache and had the log signed before replacing as found. Favourite point given. TFTC

With TMZ59 as co-pilot and Patrol14 and Imbunda in the back, we’re off to Ravenswood and Charters Towers for a bit of hysterical, sorry historical, learning…
Back in Brisbane, I created a list… everyone does… it wasn’t as long as others, but it would certainly keep us busy… if only we could stick to it…
We’ve now had lunch at a very overpriced cafe in town, visited a pharmacy and replaced my shirt…
Once at GZ it didn’t long to see the reflection… a nicely executed letterbox in a crispy location…

We camped in Charters Towers again last night with micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 & Papi4506 and started the day with a nice leisurely morning picking up a few caches up along the way before we left town to head to Townsville for few days to attend the mega.
We stopped here and the approach to gz was made quite easily because of a recent burn off and once we were at the right altitude Papi4506 found the very nice sized container quickly and as we have been doing for most of this trip we signed the log as "The Vics" to save room, not that this one needed it.
We were about to put this back when we saw some people approaching, it turns out that they were cachers so we had a bit of a chat to them for awhile before heading back to the car and on to the next one.
Thanks CachedNQ for setting up this letterbox.

#13921 - 11:45:00 AM; Day eight of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Made it through to Townsville last night and headed out to Charters Towers to try our hand at the variety of cache types in the area today. Managed 30 finds for the day on the way to and from and around the town in Charters Towers, with one DNF. Cache types we found included Adventure Labs, Letterbox Hybrids, Trads, Multis, Unknown (Puzzle), Wherigos, a virtual and an earthcache. All caches were found in good order unless noted in the log and where required each has been signed L.L10n & Sdl or vice versa. Luckily the recent burn off missed this well constructed cache. A favourite for this one! TFTC Cachedin NQ
Awesome cache with a great them, loved it. No problem finding this or working out the code. Nice big log book.
Day 8 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today it was a drive from Townsville out to Charters Towers.
A quieter day than others on the trip, but that was due to the different types. Puzzles, WIG's and Multi's were the order of the day. A couple of trads of course as went right past them....and we couldn't leave them could we?
Left CT around 2.30 and head for Cardwell to help fill in a few counties up towards Cairns and the Tablelands. All up, another great day.
Thanks to all the CO's for the caches....they all help to make the trip a good time.
Great location and a fav point. Picked up one of the travellers to keep travelling and discovered the other. TFTC.

Day 9, starting in Charters Towers and headed for Townsville. Now to cache along the way picking up as many puzzles and rarer cache types as we could.
Massive thanks go to Cachedin NQ for placing this one. ??

Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
As this was one of the more unusual cache types, we made sure it was detoured to!
Thanks for placing the cache Cachedin NQ, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

On the way to Townsville and stopped to find some caches here.Met E gregory from South Australia at this one, knew the name but can now match it with a face. All good here after a fire.TFTC??
Found as I made my way up to the Townsville Mega from Adelaide.
I camped last night near Charters Towers, then finished doing the caches around the town that were of interest to me this morning before heading east.
It had been another warm and humid day, but fortunately the only caches requiring any sort of a walk were completed this morning before it got too unpleasant.
All of the caches, including this one were found without difficulty and were in good condition.
Thanks Cachedin NQ for the the cache.

**This Cache:**
My first cache of the day, and an excellent one!
Parked at the bottom of the hill and made a pretty straight line hike up onto the rocks. The well sized and good quality cache was soon discovered! I loved the code to open it and the theme in general, well done!

**Today:**
Day 5 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
Today was laid back, I had made excellent time and only needed to get from Pentland - Townsville! I spent almost the entire day in Charters Towers! I initially only had a couple of caches planned, but I fell in love with the caching and town itself and ended up spending all the time I could until I had to be in Townsville to meet someone at the airport!
Wow, caching in Charters Towers was just fantastic, super high quality hides and a very cool town with lots to see. It was a highlight of my trip!

Oh what a glorious day to find a slice of GOLD below The World. Geo_Jewel and I set out early to pick up this little gem as I went to bed dreaming of GOLD.
Never nice to see fresh burn at a trailhead but knew the CO would have it all under control.
Left behind 5 golden ‘takables’ and left one of the inactivated tra cables for STF.
[FTF] streak continues! Thanks for placing this amazing cache Cachedin NQ

We missed seeing this when we were doing the wherigo. And it looked too good to miss.... so we came back. Felt like we'd struck gold. Loved this themed letterbox... another FP from us. TFTC and the 2TF unactivated TB Cachedin NQ. Left Simrebel's A Merry Caching Christmas with Signal (2017) Multi-Color LED TB. With an attached gold coin it was perfect here. [^]
