Here to go on railcart journey and found a cache as well. Cache OK and the railcart was a lot of fun.
Found it had to come back in the afternoon as was high muggle zone during Good Friday.
Heading to Whakatane for a bite to eat, caching certainly can be hungry work. Stopped by to grab this one on the way through. TFTC
Came to do the Rail Adventures a d thought we would pick up a cache. A nice little hide. TFTC
Making our way from Gisborne to Rotorua and knowing we couldn't book into our accommodation until 5pm, meant we had time to pick up some caches on the way. We had to pick this one up as we have found many of the Really side tracked series in England and didn't know any other countries had them. Whilst Tim filled up with petrol, Viv made a quick find.TFTCTim and Viv - ddm
Good easy find! Had fallen off fence and was on the ground hopefully it stays on the fence now
Out on a new years drive in this blistering weather towards ohope beach I stopped here as I wanted to get this Sidetracked cache that was on route. My friend decided to do some FPV drone flying around the station after asking the owner permission and after he was done I managed to get really sidetracked (5km down the track) in something that wasnt a golf cart. TFTC
SideTracked find 246One of the quickest finds today. I spotted this on approach. TFTC Geckoh.
Heaps of folk about as the rail was running so had to be a tad wary but got there without being noticed i'm sure. Thanks Geckoh but if you going by it might to check, the invisible bond appears to be just hanging on.
Thanks Geckoh for the cache. It’s #1700 for us. We found your cache on 24 May 2023.
Quick find on the way home

It may be difficult to believe, seeing as how my family were rail folk from about 1860 until just a few years ago and my own series and the fact that I'd been to just about every station and preservation railway in the UK (pre geocaching unfortunately) BUT this is my first REALLY SideTracked as a finder. Nice, hide in plain sight cache. Lots of old railway relics around here, from the rails in the parking lot to the fact that the petrol station looks a lot like railway architecture. I'll have to do some research. TFTC.
Just did the Awakeri Rail Adventure, definitely recommend it, quick cache grab after. Tftc
Cute little find after a fantastic trip on the tracks! Definately a must do!! Our first geocache in over a year!!! Thanks for the cute find!
This is one busy little hub the carts are on the to do list..
Lol one day ..thanks Geckho for bringing me off the beaten track

Mr 9 years old was "bored" by now. When we got here, we were going to check out the Rail Carts, but there was a resounding "no" from the cheap seat. Meanwhile, we had to dodge a big build-up of traffic and patrons of the busy convenience store. Most of the patrons looked like they visited and consumed items from the store regularly and in large quantities, judging by their size. This meant that none of them was interested in us. Thanks for the history and placement, geckoh.
5 January 2023 13:22 TFTC Geckoh for placing this cache, number 12206 for me.
Day 8 of the holiday trip. Hopefully we have avoided the worst of the deluge ... The lad wants to play MTG, so we are heading over to Tauranga. This was a quick stop on the way.

Holidaying up this way with family and friends. TrinityNZ and I decided to visit the local sights a little further afield.
What a clever cache in this great pitstop location. Will visit again when the "train" is running!

JustLookingOO and I are out and about in the area today. This cache sounded interesting, so we called in here on the way back to Ohope. Found quickly thanks to the good hint. What a clever cache. FP from me.

This one might need maintenance as there is nothing there, judging by the photos it should have been right there, I think we found the bit where it was sitting though.
Cache replaced, as per hint again.
Please be mindful of being watched when retrieving to prevent being muggled again.

We found it so quickly. This was our last catch for the day. Kids excited to find more during school holidays.
Thank you for the informative history about the railway line. pleased you are putting it to good use TFTC
I foun it super eas but i went all the way behind the fence and i was walking so long just for it to be on the otherside but it was fun
Quick find, was nice and easy to grab aswell. A good spot too, me and my partner will think about it everything we drive past now.Good memories
A slight detour on the way back to Tauranga after being in Whakatane for the day to grab this cache. Started hunting the wrong side initially, but cache soon in hand once on correct side. TFTC
Very busy here. Everyone getting their fish & chips, but luckily they didn't take any notice of us. Buzzybb found it. On our way home from a great day out. Tftc
A quick easy find here thanks to the hint, and then - - -
I've heard of so many people doing this kind of thing so many times and thought how clumsy they must be but - - -
nec minute, half of the cache somehow ended up on the other side of the fence. I had a bit of a mishap earlier in the year which means I'm not as nimble as I used to be but there I was inching my way between a ditch full of water and a fence.
A quick easy find I said but that was the FIRST search. The second search not so quick and not so easy. But YYES! find it I did, put it all back together and phew, on to the next.
Thanks for the adventure filled caching experience. Thank goodness I didn't have to admit how stupid I had been

Last time we were in Whakatane we had cleared all the cache in the local area. Was happy to see I whole new set of new caches which is great as I’ve come here for a few weeks of work. Quick stop for this one. Enjoyed the nearby caravan coffee cafe with all its American number plates. When we visited America with the kids they played a game trying to spot a number plate from each US state. Well this would be a good place to start. I counted 25 plates. Oh I forget, there was a cache and it was all fine. Thanks Geckoh.
Down this way for a fishing weekend and a one year old birthday. Nice to have another one in this series. We must come back for a railcard ride one day TFTC
So nice to be down visiting for mothers day. Just have to get a tad sidetracked thou and catch a smilie or two.
The last cache to log while visiting my hometown.
Overshot so parked at the far end of the area and wandered back to make a quick find thanks to a detailed hint.
Thanks Geckoh

Nice to come out and get some new smileys. A spur of the moment plan was made over night with Squirrel and a quick find was made here.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

With McJandals… Usually, long weekends are for big Team missions, but this one is quite different. Several of our group are either isolating or have their own plans. I put out a tentative enquiry about doing the new Toi’s Track caches last night, and McJandals responded…
As this cache sat along the driving route, we decided to meet at Awakeri this morning. The rail office was already open and customers were preparing to book their passage on the buggies that operate on the former railway line. We could see them and they could see us, so there wasn’t any room for mucking around - a quick retrieve and sign on this effective cache. Thanks Geckoh and TFTC.

Very busy muggle area quick find nice cache cache all good here. Tftc gets a favorite from us
Fun to find on our way home from town.
Interesting to stop and see how much work has been put into this "Side line" over the few years it has been running. It was a lovely sunny day and would be a good day to do the trip much as it was the day we travelled on it about 2 years ago.
Thank you for the cache Geckoh

On our way home from Whakatane decided to grab the new ones on way past. Haven't seen one of these for a while. Tftc.

Out for the afternoon with my daughter Corey told her we were going on a small walk in Matata. Grabbed a few other caches on the way this being one of them. Quick find our first cache of the day there were a few people at the nearby rail trail having lunch not sure if they had just got back or were getting ready to do an afternoon rail ride.
