Was still in place, have refreshed with similar container in same spot, no pink tape anymore

Did a short walk early this afternoon and picked up the first five of these caches. Great views at times. I think I was at this one before the C.Os check today. However I couldnt find it where the hint indicated it should be, but then happened to notice it on the ground in its distinctive container. After signing the log I put the cache back where I thought it was meant to be, certainly not on the ground! #8168. TFTC.

Second in row I couldn't find. We'll I guess, I have to focus my attention more to the beauty of the trail, than to the geocaches.

Out caching with JustLookingOO today whilst on holiday. JLOO and I split up at and searched different areas, with JLOO finding the cache first. As we were returning the cache a muggle walked past and asked what we were up to, so we explained, and she seemed keen on finding out more about it.Thanks for the cache!

Sadly this was to be our last cache on this track, I think the gradient of the track would have been fine but the over-height stairs were pretty taxing on the shortest member of our group. Thanks for bringing us up here though, we were really pleased we had got as far as we did.

️ Trouvée ! / Found it ! ️

Une petite randonnée sympa qui fut plus courte que prévue à cause d'un impératif horaire. Ce n'est pas grave, les points de vue sont magnifiques. Merci pour ces belles caches.

4040ème cache trouvée.
Merci Geckoh pour la cache

A nice little hike that was shorter than expected because of an hourly imperative. It doesn't matter, the views are magnificent. Thank you for these beautiful caches.

4040th cache found.
Thank you Geckoh for the cache

A fine Saturday needs a day outside caching and this trail was ideal. Did the first 14 (forgot about 5.5) and have tired legs to prove it... but the scenery was amazing! Plenty of photo opps today. Spotted what I thought would be GZ as we approached but my friend made the find. TFTC

Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 5 - Gisborne to Whakatane. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. I don't usually like to cut and paste logs but will make an exception for a "power trail" like this one. I've been fortunate with good weather on this trip up to now. Today was a bit more challenging but I was very lucky that the worst of the weather seemed to be over by the time I hit the trail. I really enjoyed the walk - as far as I had time and energy for today - from #1 to #15 - and the nice variety in containers and hides. I almost discarded the cache as I searched for the cache. Doh! Thanks for your efforts in placing and maintaining these and TFTC, Biggles.

Cache check, log wet so replaced

14-Dec-22
That was a very great hike except the weather. I did all the Caches from #2 to #17
But don't found #15. #3 and 5 is wet inside.
A drawback is that nothing is written about the tide, so I could not make all the Caches and must go all the way back. I nedet about 4 hours.
Thanks and one point by 1 and 17.

Wahoo the sun's shining. After such a wet and windy last few days it was nice to be able to enjoy a walk rather than a quick dash for a cache,
A straight forward find of a nicely hidden cache.
Another one ticked off - thanks for setting this up.

Nice cache. Hot day trudging up the hill. Log a bit damp. Tftc!

Log a bit damp, love it, gotta use nature! TFTc and setting these such a great walk! Over from the UK visiting family in Te Kuiti, exploring the north island and caching! So we're taking trips where we stay for a few days/week at a time before moving on to somewhere else or a few places before going back to spend time with family and back out again on another adventure.(Sorry for the very very late Log, between limited Data, some issues with our travel, some personal issues and a build up meaning the ADHD couldn't cope tackling these but finally getting logged Please forgive)

A great day out. Originally we were bringing two grandies with us so we hadn't planned a big day. They baled on us but we ventured out anyway. They missed out on sausages sizzle, lollies, bouncy castle and free water all at Matata. We didn't miss out. Our fist choice of carpark was overflowing so we headed for the top which was fine for us. This was the first as I figured that when we return we will not have to go to high! This poor cone was out of its comfort zone here, totally lost its mother! Thanks for the placement Geckoh.

A beautiful day to get a good start on these caches. Love this walk and many thanks to the COs for setting up this great trail again TFTC

Last time we were in Whakatane we had cleared all the caches in the local area. Was happy to see a lots of new caches which is great as I’ve come here for a few weeks of work. Visited Matata this afternoon and still had a bit of daylight to start the Toi series. Have walked these tracks many time but not with so many smileys to collect. Managed 1-5. Great varied hides and all the cache logs were fine and dry. Last cache of the day and I’m now pining for a cup of tea. Thanks Geckoh for the smiley.

Walked to ohope and back. Was going to do the return by bus but I wasn’t waiting 90 minutes for it so put the foot down and walked back.

I used the hint for most of these to avoid any unnecessary tramping of the plants.

Great views to sea, along the cliffs and some of the pohutakawa are amazing.

Nice easy find loving these containers S&J S is getting ideas for hides

The kids and I came over to Whakatane two weekends in a row to complete this trail. Starting at the beginning we walked to Kohi Point and back to start last weekend then this weekend we started at Ohope end and did the other half of trail. Really enjoyed this trail always good camouflage and hints from Team Geckoh makes for enjoyable geocaching I’m going to give each cache a FP either for location or camouflage I will be copying and pasting my logs as I don’t remember each individual cache but they were all good. Thanks Team Geckoh and I look forward to when you complete the Toi Trail

Definitely nice work you have done on this power trail!

Thanks for all the caches!

19-Apr-22
We decided to do this trail today started off around 10am and finished just before 2pm. what a lovely trail so great having so many caches along it to find. Thank you for putting them out. Its made our trip this way so worth while couldnt believe it when I saw it on the map just a few days before doing the walk today. good find here today TFTC

19-Apr-22
I was asked if I wanted to do the walkway from Whakatane to Ohope and after looking at it on the map it didnt seem to be too far for this 75 year old guy so I said yes I will come with you so me and Mrs Watcache made a plan do take some lunch and get away on the 19th, our driver Mr watcache and his off sider (with a crook hip ) Mrs 2 Bulbars dropped us off part way up the hill and off we went at a slow trot
All caches were still in good condition and most were well hidden but findable.
many thanks for placing these caches along here

Over the bay on a caching weekend with ABCDF4 and decided to look at the first 4 of Gechoes new trail. Parked in Whakatane and started at 9.45am and after a couple of 5 hours on the very well used trail found the last one at Ohope beach, hitched a ride back to Whakatane to get the charoiot. Awsome themed caches, magnificent views, and an awsome trail, thankz to Gechoe for bringing us over this way. Highly recommend.

Nice to come out and get some new smileys. A spur of the moment plan was made over night with Squirrel and a look at tides meant this was possible. Parked car at one end and started the other end.
Nice camo job again

I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

With McJandals… Usually, long weekends are for big Team missions, but this one is quite different. Several of our group are either isolating or have their own plans. I put out a tentative enquiry about doing the new Toi’s Track caches last night, and McJandals responded…

We did our pre planning and noted the tide timetable - Low tide was set for 12:40 PM, so if we set off at 10:00 AM, we should be on Otarawairere Beach at that time. Despite some drizzle, the ocean was flat and calm - a good sign. McJandals and I parked a vehicle at either end of the trail and started back for the beginning…

A well crafted hide in this setting… Thanks Geckoh and TFTC.

Post note: We didn’t set any speed records for walking this track, that wasn’t our intention. We enjoyed the moment of arriving at each cache and the scenery in between. I especially appreciated having good company - our chatter helped to take the focus away from the changeable terrain… Thanks McJandals for your company.

I wasn't expecting new caches to be published while I was here visiting.
Decided to open the app this morning and saw 7 new caches nearby.

Puffing away now, passed one guy on the track but don't think he was a cacher.
A clever cache container here and my 5th [FTF].

Thanks Geckoh
