#14,878. Parked for a walk in Kaiti, Gisborne. The GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. But unfortunately Sepp Stachel auf Tour was not in the cache. Quick find but no trackable - guess was the one picked up a few weeks ago?

Checked and cache still there. A possum trap has been positioned on the tree but should not interfere with the cache. Have also updated the hint.

Disabling till we can check this one.

I think it has been removed by the possum trappers

This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved [:X] Middle-Earth.
This time its a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Today was dedicated to collect some smileys in order to complete two challenges :

Summer Geocaching Road Trip - Day 4 - In and around Gisborne. It's been a while since I've been off on a road trip and this one has been on the cards for quite a while. I plan to visit some parts of the country where I've done very little caching before and hope to complete the qualification for a challenge cache in Nelson. Nice one. Cleverly constructed cache found after a brief search. TFTC, Biggles.

Good one for the kids ️

More of an adventurous find with the track closed sign

As we approached this cache there was a sign suggesting the track was closed, so we thought we would have a look and see if we could access the cache before the track got dangerous. There was a tree that had fallen over but it was easy to step through and we could see footprints so we knew we were not the first to do so.

GK made an instant find - this is a bit of a cool idea. The log was signed and it was returned as he found it. Then we made our way back to the top of the track.

Turns out the path on the way here is closed, but it was only a small tree in the way and only about 15 m from GZ. So I just slipped past safely and made my way.

Found the cache quickly and enjoyed the little twist to it. I see you put a lot of work into this one so I’ll give it a favorite point for sure!

Looks like another {FTF} for us!
