Quick reach into the hole and Left it back there once signed. It's head home today after a couple of nights at Urenui beach. A nice long weekend in Taranaki was just what I wanted, too many times previously it's just been a time-constrained day visit and have never really scratched beyond the surface of the area, or the caching. I was keen to head home via SH45 surf highway and a couple of other caches. Also keen to up my cache finds by the CO Phronimos, and this was a Pheeding Phrenzy as I got a few of his, as a CO I'm aiming to get finds by him up to triple figures, today will help with that aim. Phanks very much to all regional COs for their placements and maintenance/choices of awesome places to get people to visit.

Day 16: Around TaranakiTodays journey took us around the Taranaki Region, where we headed as far south as Cape Egmont before heading up to Pukeiti, and back to New Plymouth for two more parks: Tpare and Pukekura Parks. After that, we searched for the best views of the Maunga from Te Wera Wera Bridge and walked the Coastal Walkway back to the Port. Another truly productive day, and thanks for all the caches around the Taranaki Region. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: Picked this one up and noticed a rather bovine odour in the air. It was then I noticed the trailer filled with cows nearby that seem to be waiting for a ride. Ah made a quick find and sign of the cache and got the heck out of there before the odour lingers in my nose for too long. TFTC!

Oh dear as i turned into the side road there parked in front of the hall was an articulater truck! it did not look like i could get to the cache ! but just then he started to move off leaving a trailer behind here . so i breathed a sigh of relief and then went and located the cache . it was easily found and i soon had it signed and i took the Tb that was in here with me to move on . i replaced the cache and was soon on my way I was travelling up to New Plymouth to help my mum in law with appointments and odd jobs etc etc and this time i decided to take the coastal route, so I set off early with this in mind but it started to rain not far past Whanganui and continued until nearly Hawera so i had almost decided to abandon the coastal route but as i approached Hawera the sun came out and it there was blue sky over the coast and so i thought i would still take the coastal route which i happen to really enjoy despite it being 30+ mins longer but there is just no traffic or big trucks .

I had decided as part of my 'wish list' for my holiday that I wanted to drive around the Mountain so this cache was my first stop. It was also here that I nearly avoided disaster, after I signed the log I stood up and accidentally stood on my prescription sunglasses as I totally forgot they were there. Thankfully, no damage!

[FTF] @ 12:45

Spending the weekend in Wanganui (from Wellington), and with some hours to spare during the day on Saturday, I had a look at what caches were around me. I spotted three recently published ones up past Opunake that were still unfound, and one more that came out this morning in Taihape. That's a lot of driving, I wonder if I can get them all? Turns out, I can. I left Wanganui mid morning and headed to Taranaki first, grabbing the three new caches and then collecting a few others along the way back. Then I headed over to Taihape and collected the newly published multi there, as well as a recent Adventure Lab and related bonus cache. The weather was perfect everywhere, it was a fun and successful day trip.

The third of the new caches was found here, safe and dry as described. Swapped TBs.
