Second time down at the bunker and the take 2 was an easy find compared with the scramble at the bunker thanks Marisa for the revisit always nice.
I was here in 2020 to find the original cache and was perfectly happy to return today. It turned out to be a very quick find.
Today we did a tour round the area and grabbed a few caches as we went round - unfortunately we had several DNFs but we did find this one.We parked nearby and made a relatively quick find TFTC Tim and Viv - ddm
Over from Adelaide Australia as an expat kiwi, catching up with friends and revisiting areas Ive lived in before, Wanganui being one of themand of course picking up the odd cache along the wayAccurate coords led to a quick find, stamp and return here todayTFTC
I was kinda amazed that this bunker was pointing the wrong direction - oh, if for defending the airpot, not the sea port. That makes more sense. Although an AA battary would have made more sense. In fact, I don't really understand how this type of gun emplacement can protect an airfield!
It's a four-day King's Birthday weekend! Lord knows why the boss gave the whole company a paid day off, but nice! Thank you very much! So I headed to Whanganui, and maybe Hawera, to get rid of some pesky green spots.

having been in Whanganui for over night after a singing workshop i had saved a couple of caches to locate on my journey home this morning . I was glad it was not inside the bunker and that i had my red band gummies on . the road is rather full of pot hole - more so than i remember last time i went out to this site for the previous cache . I took nothing and left nothing . All was well with the cache and thank you for this cache .
My car nearly vanished in some of the potholes. At least I got some photos for Instagram as well as finding the cache
Found while out with tmann421 today.
Quicker find here for us than take one!!!
Soon had the container and log signed tm/ww NZ

Heading to Rattll’s Xmas party event and had spare time to collect some caches on the way. Since last being in Whanganui there are 4 new caches and I was able to find them all. Nice to clear the area again. Quick find here. Cache and log all fine. Thanks for the smiley
We're back in Whanganui for a few days to host our annual Christmas event.
There aren't many caches left here for us to get, so it's great we get to grab this one again.
Not the nicest of days, but great to revisit the area again.
Thanks for putting this here

17 September 2022 12:05. This weekend is a chance to explore the Whanganui area, trying to tidy up the map(not a chance of clearing it, but a good effort made). A spot to stop and eat a bit of lunch. TFTC mar1sa for placing this cache, number 11704 for me.
#11,688. I was up in Whanganui on a road trip over the weekend to try and reduce the number of unfound caches in this pretty provincial town. The weather was great all weekend which made it easier to get around a lot of different parts of the city. I had visited this bunker back in January to complete the geotour so finding this repurposed cache was straightforward. Signed the logbook and returned the cache as found ready for the next person. Thanks mar1sa for the cache and the informative history of this bunker and other war relics in the region.

It felt like we were driving through a few bunkers on the way to the cache - thankfully the wheel alignment is still ok and the cache was a super easy find even by torchlight. TFTC

Having spent the standard weekend days in Wanganui (with a trip up to Opukane) I was on my way home to Wellington today with the knowledge that tomorrow was an extra weekend day. Gotta love a long weekend where the weather is good enough for geocaching but not so good it brings out the masses.
No problem finding this cache as a revisit to a spot I visited back when this cache was published as part of the GeoTour. The road was quite busy with trailer loads of off-road bikes going past, guess the weather is perfect for them as well.
Thanks for bringing me back down here.

Not sure I recall the last hide here, I thought it was closer to the bunker which sadly has been heavily tagged. Soon had the cache in hand and note now that I am 3TF on this, bronze baby.
It's the long weekend, the first of two 3-dayers this month with the Matariki holiday coming in a few weeks time. What I thought was going to be a DIY at home day turns out it might not be so, yay! We hosted our daughter and 2 of our grandchildren over to stay last night so that was nice, and we had a steady start to the dat before mrs c suggested a trip to Whanganui for her and I later once the visitors had left. Only 2 cache to be found, and bothe were former Geotour re-treads, but both were welcome and appreciated, thanks mar1sa.

Again, we must've been only minutes behind LGLNZ as we too took off after work and we too stopped to look at the beautiful sunset. Mrs RRR got a great photo of the sun almost down, a brilliant red, as we had to wait for a muggle to vacate the spot. Good enough for 2TF tho. SL TFTC
Stopped by for back a quick find. Signed log and left as found.
Sun was on its way down so stayed for the sunset.
Thanks for the {*FTF*} here mar1sa.
