Found with Gazania Rigens after our very good lunch at the Tavern. The first on our little wander up and down the village. In the obvious place but well hidden. All in good order.TFTC
Zouave and I had lunch at the Moeraki Tavern and then did the lab caches and a few trads in this pretty little town. There was a lot of activity in the harbour area today, but no one noticed us finding this cache. I noticed the Gazania flowers on the nearby bank. Not native, but very cheerful. TFTC!
We started our beautiful journey through the South Island in Christchurch. Here we went on a big sightseeing tour and visited lots of caches. We then travelled via Lake Tapeko, Dansey Pass and Moeraki to Dunedin for the MEGA event. In Dunedin we visited the MEGA events and together with many other cachers we found many caches around Dunedin. A few days later, we travelled on through the Catlins to the southernmost part of Bluff. We then visited Te Anau and the tourist town of Queenstown. In Wanaka we went on another sightseeing tour until we reached the west coast via the Haast Pass. We hiked to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier. We continued along the west coast up to Westport, stopping at various sights along the way. Richmond and Nelson, the sunniest cities, were also on our list.A few days later we reached the east coast again in the wine region of Picton and Blenheim. After a few days, we travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura. We visited many geological sites, completed many adventure cahes and found many caches along the way.We travelled almost 3500 km and had so many great experiences. Many thanks to all the ownersTeam sissifalke
We are on our way to the Mega Event in Dunedin. With the adventure lab cache in Moeraki we stopped to find a few traditionals while we were in the area.We think we would have been here as part of the tour but don't remember this hide. It took a couple of moments to find it.Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
On the road heading south towards the Mega. A deviation into Moeraki seemed like a good idea.A nice spot to sit and watch the Bay.TFTC
The cache was visible from the path so I propped up the bit of concrete in front of it. TFTC
I remember one near here a few years ago? A seal on the rocks below saying hello (or go away). Cheers
Moeraki is one of our favourite destinations for a day out of Dunedin. Stooped in at the pub for blue cod lunch to celebrate Mrs Grapeas birthday and pick up this cache afterwards. Nice and easy today. I recall being unsuccessful on another occasion previous. TFTCFind count: 2599
Had a wander around Moeraki after staying in the campground last night. Didn't see the path at first but had a nice walk around the harbour once we did. And finding the path helped us find the cache too! Thanks for the placement, it's beautiful here.
Staying nearby in Hampden by the beach for a few days. Such a nice quiet place and great hikes nearby for me too. Today we have come here for a wee wander (and to get the local adventure lab). I felt a bit like I was in someones property here boat builders working very close to the cache so needed hubby to act as camo.TFTC
Out on an attempt to cache Moeraki clean of unfounds today. With the cachemobile left parked up outside Fleur's old restaurant I made the short walk to sign this cache. Both the Tavern and The Fishwife Restaurant were jammed with lunchgoers. Business was booming in Moeraki. TFTC drawp.
A beautiful place to stop and chill on our journey North. Thanks for the history lesson
This was our first ever cache, my children were so excited to find it. Thank you
Beautiful spot, cool blurb about the history. Especially interesting about polio delaying public events, timely reminder about history repeating itself with pandemics. Are we adequately prepared for the next one?
@JoshTait found this first. Nice spot down by the beach along a cool little walkway. Not far from parking overlooking activity on the water. Thanks
Day 6: The Road to OamaruTodays journey was a long one, bringing us from the South up to the northern part of Otago, via Middlemarch. Todays blustery conditions added to the fun and challenge of finding caches, though otherwise the weather remained perfect. The highlight of the day were the Sutton Salt Lake cache and the Moeraki Boulders, and both did not disappoint. Thanks to all the COs for making this leg of the journey an enjoyable one! (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache:Found this one while completing the stages of the AL, and I had the wrong idea of the hide initially. After looking there for a bit, decided that it had to be elsewhere, and the second guess was the right one here. All good in this lovely place, TFTC!
A plan was hatched to have a day out in Moeraki and this was the first of the day. Easy find as I remembered the last one here.
One of several caches located today in driving from Moeraki through Oamaru to Awamoko, North Otago. This one was a quick find. #6245. TFTC.
What a great spot this a place well worthy of a cache sharp co-ords soon had me on the spotsigned and replaced as found..took in the ambience for a few minutes before moving on
We have been along here before and its great to be back. A boat was in, unloading fish while we were here. Thanks for the placement
Visiting the area for a short break . With a few caches to provide the cherry on top. TFC
Having a great day out with Geomum007 and coconuts3. Easy find and loving the history here. TFTC
Having a fun day geocaching with busy paws and Geomum007. A cute wee walkway here. Thanks for this cache all good and safe drawp.

We are from Abilene, Texas, USA and have come to New Zealand to visit with a friend. We have gotten ten different Cache Types and will get the 11th Type (Webcam) when we go to Christchurch on Monday. Today Bitsprayer is taking us out to find more caches around Oamaru.
Thank you, drawp for placing this cache for all to find. We sign log sheets either as Love Cachers or LCers.
Driving over 50 miles to have...
Rusty barbed wire ripping through your clothes...
Curious rattlesnakes that come out of nowhere...
Itchy mosquito bites on every inch of your body...
A 40 mph wind gust blowing sand into your ears, nose and mouth...
Cactus needles getting stuck deep in your hands, arms and legs...
Thorny Mesquite trees scratching you up from head to toe...
Some or all of these things on a hike through 101° heat...
To sign your name or trade a toy...

Thanks for hiding this cache drawp I appreciate it. JD found it. He likes to say, " see dear you have to stick with the experienced" , We biked here from the campground while doing the lab cache.
A bit of a geo adventure with BCD in Moeraki.

After attending WilbyWarrior's meetup event in the Dunedin Gardens, Flamingo4850 and our respective geohubbies headed out to Moeraki for a delicious lunch of fresh fish at the Fishwife. While it was being prepared, we took a quick walk to search for this one, passing an interesting boulder covered in plaques commemorating those who had been lost at sea or whose ashes had been scattered nearby. Soon located the cache - wouldn't have known this path was here. TFTC.
After a quick lunch break wee wandered down for this one...nice quick find with KJR.. tftc
A familiar spot from TMGT. Sad that Fleur's is closed. Pretty orchids instead. Thanks drawp.
A nice quick find. We were heading to Fluers place but it was closed, so had fish and chips at the local chippie. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee drive to Invercargill and back. Today we made it as far as Owaka, very windy in places and it got hotter the further south we went.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

A familiar spot as I had got the TMGT one when it was here. Since then, this, two other trades and an adventure lab have appeared, making a detour worthwhile. Thanks.
Didn't realise this was a reincarnated cache until I got there and realised I had done one there previously. Moeraki seems to be getting fibre optic cabling installed judging by the works going on. TFTC.
Spent the last week in Timaru and Dunedin for U15 and U13 football tournaments. Now making our way back to Christchurch. Family keen to get home & not so keen to stop for caches....so only a couple found on a detour into Moeraki for a walk out from the Lighthouse to see some seals and maybe a penguin....
A nice quick find here, thanks.
A nice quick find here, thanks.
Love to have an excuse to revisit Moeraki. As I was retrieving it I thought, done this before. A muggle leaned out " it's ..." Yes I said, I've got it. Asked her about it and she confirmed has been here years, so guess a replacement. Thanks.
After a delicious fish and chip lunch nearby, we headed for this one. It was a quick find. TFTC.
A damp day today but cache found ok with not too many people around.

Added new log book and dropped off GeoRicks Travel Trackable to begin its South Island journey.
We had found the cache previously in its TMTG manifestation, so knew where to go, and it didn't take long to spot the cache. We added a new log sheet, as the others are full. TFTC
Have been out this way before, thanks Drawp for keeping this cache alive , even though it is renamed, still good to see the history again.
It really feels like you are stepping back in time when you walk this little clay path along the waterfront. In the little village to sit out a SW storm. Found after a brief search. TFTC.
Thought I would be second again, but was happy to find the fish and chippie open for business for a lovely meal of blue cod. Nice to look over the bay on a calm grey warm day. TFTC drawp
