It might seem foolish to do this track following a week of rain and…it might be…but the stormy, cloudy view out to sea is worth it!! TFTC

I’m really enjoying the walk along the top. There are lots of people out and about today too so good to see the upgraded track is getting plenty of use. A nice quick find here and the log is all nice and dry

I took a day off work mid-week and decided to venture out to Whatipu for some hiking and caching. I visited this re-opened track a few months ago, walking it from the Karekare end, so today I headed from Whatipu to Pararaha and back again. Spotted this one from a distance as I approached GZ, so a nice easy find. TFTC!

A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.
I was pleased that the uphill portion of my walk was over and this view made it all worthwhile.
This track is perfect for an early morning weekday stroll as there were no muggles around at all.
After taking a few photos of the wonderful view I looked for this cache and soon spotted it tucked away nicely.
A friendly fantail followed me for some of my journey and must have wondered why I stopped here and what I was up to.

Every reason to return to Whatipu is a good reason!
How about newly opened Gibbons track ?
How about new hides to be found ?
I really enjoyed my Sunday stroll here. Walked 12km from a car park to a Pararaha campsite.
Such a bliss!
Another nice hide along my way today.
Great views!

MrsJAG met up with Supernannny to check out this newly reopened trail and pick up the caches along the way. There was a few possible places this one could be, so after checking the spoiler image we narrowed this down to one place. While MrsJAG looked from one side, S/N looked from the opposite side and spotted the cache. Great to see so many muggles out enjoying this new trail today. Thanks for the cache and a Joint {FTF} with S/N.

So exciting that these tracks have been revamped with gravel...lots of solid steps..and the odd boardwalk..
Didn't take us too long to find the sneaky bison...
Really enjoyed the morning's adventures with MrsJag.
She is a "mountain goat".... while I slow down a lot on the stairs...but she was very kind and slowed down to my pace!Another joint {FTF} thanks!
Looking forward to walking the Muir Track and Pararaha track some time in the future.

More or less, on the spur of the moment, I decided to have a wander out to Whatipu. I knew the weather was going to be excellent (and it was) so last night, messaged my good friend rusty to see if she was keen for a walk and she was, so I picked her up and we started a walk mainly to check up on the state of my cache "A Clear Case of a Round Peg in a Square Hole".

rusty placed one cache, and here is the next one. This view really needs a cache, it's screaming for it, so we obliged. rusty had a bison and it didn't take long to find a hiding spot, fotos were taken of the cache and the view. We had a brief hunt around for where alligator might have hidden his cache, but no joy on that front. When I got home, after doing some research I realised the old cache wasn't near the view afterall.

Awesome day out rusty, great fun day walking and placing caches.
