Staying at the Central Caravan park at Mackay. This morning the T189 went out bike riding as a groupTheir bikes were all organised & off they went for an enjoyable ride. There was quite a large variety of caches & locations they went to.Thanks alphag_25 for hiding this cache.
Group bike ride to look for a few caches on the bike trail and just off it.Cooler day with a breeze. Great weather.Logs signed T189TFTC
Out with the group today enjoying the bike track and town. Found this one. Thanks for arranging.
TFTC mackay_geocaching your cache GEOCROC-56 that we found today. Out on the bikes with Team JLBL, Snakepitters, DiMorgan and Liz and Bruce. Did a circuit on the Bluewater bike trail. Successful morning riding and walking when required. We did end up with a few DNFs but these had not been found for 12 months or more.Find Count: 20397
We woke up early to a rainy, windy day, so we continued on with our plans best we could with our fowl weather gear on hand.Nearly got blown off our feet at times, but we still managed to find over thirty caches today. All the caches found were in good condition, and a couple were hard to get to but were easy to find once at GZ.Thank you, mackay_geocaching, for another great lot of caches placed for the benefit of the geocaching community.
Another early start today with a plan to get in some paddle caches along the river, however the recent drizzles have put a little dampener on today's plans. With the change of plans, it is now a drive and cache day. We did still manage to get out and get in a couple of water caches but the tide was all wrong for us and the forecast was for heavier rains later in the day so we decided to abort and go with plan B. The walk around collecting some more of the croc series was nice, yet in that open area it was very windy. We then headed out to grab some multi's and a couple of tree fishing caches before a rugged terrain walk to a couple of challenges of which we aborted one, (next time). The rain did not dampen our spirits and we still had a lot of laughs and a nice time caching and checking out areas of Mackay. There are a lot of caches in this little town and surprisingly they are all there in place. We managed to find most of the caches on our trip and all logs were signed, and all caches were replaced as found. Thanks for the placements here and I'm sure we will be back for the remainder at some point.
TFTC smile20435 Out and about on a Sunny day grabing a cache to try and keep a challenge going signed as GS1947 on small logs With geofriends having a great time lots off walking and dirty shoesThank you mackay_geocaching for placing this cache for our enjoyment
Arrived a few hours before low tide and headed up through the dunes dodging the homeless camped in their shelters to grab these few caches, found them all OK although some took a bit more effort to get to, had to cross a water course or 2 to get too the others out near the river and an odd tree climb here and there, thanks for placing these cache's andTFTC
Had less than 2 hours to find a few of these solutions this morning, this took a little bit of locating being guarded by green ants. Found signed and replaced, thanks for another cache mackay_geocaching.
continuing on the good streak found at 10.32am some of them martians on the bight here easy find ,on to next couple, tftc
A some what last moment trip to town so got solving on a few of the puzzles and art work. No boat and not enough time so the T5’s will have to wait and would prefer a crew given the potential for big green lizards. A great couple of days in between other activities. Wasn’t sure how I would go with some of the T4.5’s and suspect some will be easier by boat but with some careful timing and keeping an eye out picked off most of them. A few searches and bites of various sorts but no sightings of those able to give really big bites

Thanks Mackay Geocaching for the awesome puzzles. Got some help on solving some of the puzzles but fun finding the caches. SL
A nice day out on the bike path today following the others getting some geocaches. We tried out the purple scooters which were fun. thanks for the ca$he
We have solved the puzzles and signed the logs, thanks for the puzzles and the hides
Our group Team Mackz has slowly been solving these puzzles with a bit of local help. Finally got out for a walk to get them with a couple of locals. Found with gcquest79, mackcacher1208, cachequest11. Thanks Geocaching Mackay for creating this series for us to enjoy. A few of these locations definately had eyes on the lookout for crocs but none spotted.
T4T$ We saw the obvious track heading off to the left, but didn't take it, as a new log fence had been built blocking access to it. So we headed straight out to the sand and along the beach till we came level with the cache, and then headed back inland to find it. This one was very well concealed in fallen pine needles, but enough was exposed to make the find possible. We then headed back on the narrow track to the log fence and climbed over to get back to the park. Once out of the trees, we were blessed with the Northerly wind to mitigate the oppressive heat.
Who's silly idea was it to be geocaching at midday???

Not surprisingly Townsville caching has fallen into a lull after the buzz of the Mega so Ben and I turned our attention to solving Mackay’s new geoart as it was released.
With the generous DT of the last instalment we brought our plans forward to make the trip down to collect the series as we both needed a couple for our FTF grids and I needed two of the combos for my 8th DT loop.
With an early (middle of the night to me) 5:15am start we set off from home with the boat in tow. Ben did his best to get us there as quickly as possible, drafting to increase speed and limit fuel consumption (I’m assuming).
After a great afternoon in the boat we set off on foot at dusk to collect these. Quick solve and find here.
Thanks mackay_geocaching for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

Currently out and about picking up smileys this fine Saturday in the hope that we cam complete the Mackay crocodile GeoArt and add a few more FTFs to the collection
Certainly happy to have picked up a few first to solves along the way early on when these first trickled out but missed the boat when the latter were released. It’s not like I’m in the running to win a jigidi race
Nice to see that you can pretty much complete a DT loop in Mackay now.
Returning to dry land to pick up a few now.
Thanks mackay_geocaching for placing these

Because of the Horse races we opted for this lot of caches.
Ratdog was wearing some pretty smick shoesfor some one going walking were we were. so a change of foot wear on the cards. We both changed into something else and headed off
We did note a possible stalker coming up behind us as we disappeared over the edge.
Oops nearly over shot GZ. Caught us with VDL and the cache was soon in hand ready for signing Joint [*FTF*]
We decided to continue our walk and headed off along the way. Off into places never ventured before
