TFTC beautiful little spot

Took a short search but found okay soon enough. No shelter from the wind at the top, and the fine misty rain blew through fast. It's been quite a journey, just to get to King, yes, but the many years of trips and travel in the quest to find every cachable LGA in Australia. So, here we are, on King, our last, all found and now sacada, TikvaNZ and myself are spending our time exploring the island and its caches. The weather hasn't shown its gentle side. Instead, we have had wild wet and windy weather. Apt perhaps, that this journey ends memorable, and gives us a little taste of the roaring 40s and bass straight life. A reminder of the islands history, often tragic, so a little wind and rain as we explored, quite mild in the scheme of so much hardship of the past. So, we carried on, as you can only do and found amusement and fun in the craziness of it all. The second day was much more pleasant, a light drizzle later on, and the wind still but compared to the previous day. Quite nice! Scenic, rugged, and wild coastlines, grassy lush fields, and cows lined up in rows to protect from the weather. Wallabies in numbers so high, just lining the roads, it makes you wonder how many there are we can't see. Wild peacocks, turkeys, and pheasants are often seen as well. With our caching complete early on the second day, a little fun. King island dairy for tastings and a little shopping! Very yummy and great prices, too. The KI brewery was next on our activities where we had some tastings and a cheese platter to enjoy too.We finished the last day with an event, a celebration to reflect on being the first two to have all cachable LGAs completed, great to share this with milestone with sacada , and great TikvaNZ was there with us. Now the question is, what next? Thanks for your cache!

Off to Tasmania to get Flinders Island LGA and finally the last LGA for AU at King Island. TFTC.Today was less rain but much more wind. Great to experience those roaring forties, on repeat.Managed to finish all the caches on King Island. Nice. Now for some cheese, crackers, a drink or two and an event to celebrate.Nice windy spot.

#23195 @1330Day 8 of a 9 day trip: Drive from Canberra to Melbourne, then by air to Flinders Island, Launceston, King Island, and back to Melbourne, then drive back home to Canberra. For the King Island part of the trip, I joined Aquilus1 and sacada. This morning was rain free, but still windy. Much more pleasant for caching. Our focus was on the south and west of the island. Cache soon found. TFTC.

This morning I was in Sydney, this afternoon I'm walking around Currie on beautiful King Island. Our tour group was given a good tour round Currie enlightening us on it's geography, history, nature and spectacular views, plenty to whet the appetite for our stay.Often it is difficult to escape from these tour groups but with a free afternoon I had the perfect opportunity.Setting out on foot I explored around the museum and the lighthouse then found a track to walk from the lighthouse, down near the water and the wharf then up through some bushland passing the historic pioneers cemetery and finally reaching Bellhill Lookout. What a great view!I checked the view while waiting for a muggle dog walker to move on then began looking for the cache. Even with the hint it was a tricky find. You know, one of those you are just about to give up on when you finally spot it!TFTC # 6334

TFTC,
Back in Tasmania for the National Riley Rally this time. We came a week early to see if we could cache in 7 LGA's in the north west and see locations of interest.
Added King Island to experience and surprised to learn there is no dairy industry now. What a great view.
Nana found it, visited trackables and added a favourite.

We flew over to King Island with ilookgeo and spent the day doing a combination of tourist things and geocaching. This was one of the caches we found. We took in the view from here on a rather windy and dismal day. The log was soon signed with two more names and all went back into place before we moved on. Thanks go to LenaMilundTeamMil for placing this cache.

Whilst visiting the Island noticed there was a new cache close to town so decided to try my luck and to my surprise the log was still blank so will claim FTF at 15.30 on the 18th of May. Thanks for bringing me back to a place I used to frequent many years ago, although a breezy day it is still a great view from the lookout. Cache all dry and in good condition.
Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment, hopefully more to come.
