### Mount Peel Bushland ###We also made a stop here during our cacher tour. We parked the cachemobile at the car park, put on our hiking boots and packed our rucksack with water and food. Now we started our hike in Mount Peel Bushland. On the way we enjoyed the beautiful nature and the many beautiful caches. Thanks for the funTeam sissifalke
It was a steep climb to this one in patches but after we had located the cache the views were magnificent.Today we set off to explore a number of parks and complete a few Ad Labs and caches as we traveled. The Japanese Gardens were a highlight where we spent quite some time exploring. W even managed a tree fishing cache. We also ventured out to the reserve at Drayton where we found some great viewpoints.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache IBHurls.**SKI Pair****
Great veiwing of the sunset from up here. A short search had the cache in hand, signed, and tucked back away for more rest. Tftc. ??
This turned out to be my last find for the morning. I'm not sure about dragon rest. For me it was more like draggin' rest. But the cache was found easily enough and after signing the log, I was soon on my way back down the hill. TFTC IBHurls
Found on a bushwalk and nature journaling expedition with our Wild + Free Toowoomba Homeschool Group. Thanks for a great find, the kids had lots of fun and was a first cache for many! TFTC
Always enjoy the walk through this area when I'm in Toowoomba, thanks for placing andTFTC
Slowly dying as I sit on the bench and look at the view. Loj ducked in to sign the log. Tftc (Ill send you my cardiac bill!)
In Toowoomba for the day and decided to find a cache or two. After finding a few in the CBD, the next target was the Mount Peel nature reserve. Second cache on my trek around Mount Peel. Nice views from this location.TFTC. TNLN. SL. TB Prado Owl visited.Find # 1778.
Nice easy find. Thanks for the cache. Signed and placed back where found. Worth the hike to the top!
Well there are many rocks to choose from but it was one of the first I looked at. Great view. TftC.
I've been spending far too much time recently, perched in front of my computer while planning my geocaching activities for an upcoming overseas trip. I was therefore keen to have a day outside in the fresh air and Crookedpete willing participant to join me for the outing to Toowoomba.I was able to pull off a lengthy to-do list from my pre-sorted database and we gradually worked our way through our targets, including this one. We had visited the Mt Peel area a few years ago but this was a new addition since then. Nice to get a bit of walking in the legs as most of the caches so far today have been pretty much park and grabs. Some exact coordinates took us right to the cache. TFTC
Seffnjarah and I had both planned to visit Toowoomba and surrounds to pick the eyes of the local caches. Today was the day.
We had a large list of caches to chase focussing on our standard "Bromance" caching criteria - the Bromance cache filter for a road trip usually involves older caches, unloved caches, interesting puzzles and challenges, earth caches, virtual's, multi's and letterboxes as well as interesting traditional caches - lots of favourites, rarer DT or required to qualify for a challenge elsewhere.
Next on the list was a loop of Mt Peel collecting caches that have popped up since our last visit here about 7 years ago. Refreshed from a healthy lunch eaten on the run at the Mt Peel carpark, we set off up the hill. For mid winter, it was surprisingly hot and there was a bit of huffing and puffing as I followed Seff. At GZ, the cache was quickly uncovered and is in excellent condition.
Thanks Xav

Steam nearly coming out of the old girls ears lol from the climb. But what a view.. tyftf
Do dragons rest here? Really? Well, seems they do! I was on a daytrip adventure from Brisbane to Warwick to Toowoomba and back, going to events and picking up friends caches. This one was grabbed along the way. Thanks for a great cache!
Oz_bean_counter and I have today blocked out for some kind of outdoor adventure. Ideally, we'd do some kind of mountain climb, but instead, I suggest an event in Warwick. She suggests afterwards Mt Peel. Good plan! Though, Mount Peel would hardly count as an actual, proper, for-realsies mountain climb.
Having parked in the wrong place and walked farther than necessary, and discovered the map in the app is approximate at best, we had found our way to the top here. After finding another geocache, we decided to head back to the car via this icon.
A few muggles about, but thankfully none near us as we got onto the dragon path and commenced the hunt. After trying a few likely hides, I came up with the goods. Muggles were now on approach so a quick logbook sign at 14:15 to replace as found, then visit the lookout a bit more properly, and admire the view.
Sometimes I think a bit too much about dragons as a concept. Namely that I posit they're more closely related to insects than reptiles because they're most commonly portrayed as hexapods (four legs and two proper-limb wings). But some cultures do portray them as quadripedal. And on that, so many unrelated cultures have a dragon mythology. Interesting.
Either way, no dragons spotted today. But a lovely view and an enjoyable walk around this little hill. Thank you for the extra smiley, IBHurls

Karicka invited me for a day of caching in Toowoomba. We spent an hour or so wandering around Mt Peel collecting a few stray caches. Thanks for the fun IBHurls
Hey Xav! No dragons were spotted however I do agree it would be a good place for them!
Great hide, just a little lunch container ([see attached photo](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=1c33f51f-26ea-4773-bb9f-37e5057128be&IID=7abe6f1a-2a93-4d39-bb9f-556a06619e0b)). 3 tradables, and there is not much more room for more. Lovely walk though. Summit is beautiful. Make sure to check the hint. So nice as to include a pencil! Good thing too, cause I forget the pen.

A trip up the range today to run around Mt Peel and tidy up some newish boxes that have appeared on my map. Straight to this one the short way - bit of a heart starter indeed. Quickly found.
Thanks IBHurls for entertaining me at this location.

With a couple of geocaching event on the calendar in Toowoomba this weekend, Duppers and I decided to head on Friday. After a am knock off from work, I headed over and picked up my geocaching buddy. A quick stop for coffee and brunch, we were soon on our way to Toowoomba.
Peel mountain was our target area for the day.
Quick find at this location. Everything is in good condition.

No dragons up here today, unfortunately, Xavier. We found 18 caches at Mt Peel today and we did see some dragons in other places here. The cache was found in good condition. On.y 4 more caches to go. Yay! I’m worn out. TFTC
2nd find on my morning bushwalk. I agree, these trails definitely look like dragons built them. TFTC!
A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
That's a big rock for a for year old. Nice hide.

Nice easy find as previous searcher had left it out in the open. No dragons today unfortunately. TFTC IBHurls
Out for a quick blast on Remy, up where it is a tad cooler. There was a ferociously cool breeze when I was getting ready for my ride. It was soon appreciated as a ground my way up hill and down dale.
A bit of a hunt here. GPSr was a bit bouncy for some reason, and there are plenty of rocks to look under.

When looking for the dragon's rest
Approaching from the west is best
If you're riding a bike
Else you'll need to hike
To find cache like an egg in the nest

With the enevitabiliy of rain this weekend, thought it best to go for a walk today while it’s not so wet. This container took way too long to find…turns out I can’t see through rocks, I have to lift them up. Got there eventually!

Great location for a cache This is the 3rd cache i have seen up here. i hope this one lasts
We return to Toowoomba nearly every year as we have family here, what can be better than combining family visits with geocaching. Our first visit to Mt Peel was in 2011 and each time we return here we find new caches to make the walk worthwhile. SL TFTC
Found this well during my afternoon walk. The last one for today as it was already getting dark.
No dragon here (I think the original dragon has disappeared) so it's currently a plain container.
Nice spot on top of a hill for a dragons nest.

So grateful that the sun has come out to play though there was still a nice breeze as the KellerClann duo and I meandered the trails here. The locals are a little nervous of my inclination to jump into bushes as the dangers are much higher here than in Ireland but it's a fine balance between care and determination we saw some interesting wildlife on our ramble including Roo, Wallabies and a Goana! Wasn't too difficult getting to the top where we were rewarded with epic views. After a little rest, the cache was found neatly tucked away. TFTC
We are on a 2 month trip from Portland via the Mundi Mundi Bash to a wedding in Brisbane and then out west for QOGM in Charleville.
We have set up at the free camp in Nobby that is only metres from the train line! Today we headed into Toowoomba for some shopping and some caching but we really didn't know where to start. In the end we headed out to Mt Peel and once we worked out the correct access point we jumped on the bikes and tried to find a few before the rains set in.
Thanks for contributing to the fun and for the great view IBHurls . There could be dragons there for sure.

I enjoyed the walk up to this one as I neared the end of my Mt Peel list. Signed the log and returned as found, then sat and enjoyed the views on this beautiful day.

Headed out to Toowoomba for a day of caching with Peppa and this was our target area. Loving the walk and the company in this area.
At GZ it didn’t take too long to spy the cache. I guess it’s all in the placement of a comma.

July is all about challenges thanks to the latest Georode Monthly Challenge in Brisbane… and Mt Peel is rich in unsigned challenges…
So I assembled a group of willing Brisbanites, and a plan was hatched for today…. A couple withdrew leaving just nikid1 and I to enjoy the glorious weather and environment up here on the range…
After taking a moment to admire the view, nikid1 followed the path, while I took the more off-road route…
Tftc…
Disappointingly we didn’t spot a single dragon…

Went for a wonder with WallabyWanderers to the top of this one. Have ventured around here a few times and was happy to make a find. Great view. TFTC IBHurls
Ive taken up walking the mount peel area to stretch the legs and get fit, as an offroad motorsport photographer, i spend long days walking race tracks and sometimes, i get a little bit lazy between races, so here i am, walking through with Zelda the Woofy Wanderer
My Muggle friend Lei and i decided to go for a walk around here and find some caches. We had a great time on a lovely day. The mosquitoes however were on the rampage so we did not find all the caches today. Gives us a good excuse to come back. Today we spent an hour and a half and found 7 caches. This was our first find and we used the hint for a quick find then enjoyed the views
The Eskies took emmkaye for a tour of the Mt Peel caches. This was one we hadn’t found yet. A beautiful morning for a walk. TFTC IBHurls.
I am not sure the coords are accurate as ground zero is NOT at the top.
It is quite a way down a walking track.
I gave up after a lot of searching.

With a little help from a friendly dragon I found the cache. Full log when I get home.Tis a bit cold up here today.
{FTF} @ 10am.
An interesting adventure finding this cache ...
First off, I headed to the published coords but they seemed a little strange. Not at the top of the mountain for starters and no pile of rocks.
Then I heard a little chuckle above and behind me. A little dragon was sitting on a rock laughing at me. A Copper dragon to be precise. Hmmm, well know as being little pranksters, joke tellers and riddlers that live in the hills.
After correctly answering a few riddles he finally told me where the cache actually was hidden.
I did manage to get a few photos of the little fella.
I also reported the change of location to the CO to update the coords.
Future finders ... beware of the little copper dragon hiding nearby.
Thanks for the cache.
