Found by The Empire + H and the gang!Leaving Bright, we headed towards Mount Buffalo, eager to explore its renowned lookouts and the historic chalet. The drive was spectacular, with the road winding through dense forests and offering glimpses of dramatic granite cliffs. As we climbed higher, the air became cooler, and the views more breathtaking. When we reached the Mount Buffalo Chalet, its grand, rustic architecture stood as a reminder of its long history. We took some time to explore the surroundings, imagining the generations of travelers who had stayed there over the years. From there, we made our way to several nearby lookouts, each offering expansive views of the Alpine landscape. After taking in the breathtaking views from the lookouts, we wandered through the old-style garden near the Mount Buffalo Chalet. Now heritage-listed, the garden had a timeless charm that made it feel like a step back into a more elegant era. It was clear that the garden had been lovingly preserved, with its neatly arranged flower beds and winding paths inviting exploration. The heritage status added a sense of history to the place, as though the garden itself had witnessed countless stories over the years. It was the perfect spot to pause and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before continuing our adventure on the mountain. Thanks for the cache, and the adventure Jamin Appleford.-M
After completing the excellent Ad Lab, we spent quite a bit of time searching for this sneaky little blighter. The awful weather kept the muggles away, so at least we could search in peace. Just as we were about to give up, a last ditch effort did the trick.Thank you Jamin Appleford. Always a pleasure to see this beautiful Chalet.
3 August 2024 2:06pm. On our 2nd visit in 2 days. Well this was a great Ad lab pointing out some of the best bits of Buffalo all accessible in 2WD and a short stroll from the Chalet car park, but the hide for the Bonus Cache absolutely positively certainly isn't there. It's clearly been muggled or washed away or something [xx(] cos otherwise one of us would definately have found it plobably somewhere obvious like this great hiding spot right here where we looked the first time and...Oh wait... Here it is. Doh!!! TFTC Buffalo Ben. We had so much fun caching Mt Buffalo, that cat' and I decided to stay overnight in Porpunkah and head straight back up here to do it all again the very next day. There is a strong chance we will be back again next weekend too.
3 August 2024 14:05Having done the adlab the day before, we set off to find this bonus, but do you think we could locate it.We had a good idea what container it would be; well, one of 2 types we were sure. And we had a good idea where it would be hiding. Sounds good, doesn't it. We should of found it, shouldn't we. But nah!Cache blindness is real ladies and gentlemen. Thanks for the bonus JA.
A nice location to hide a cache, somewhat out of sight. However, with the amount of cover provided by autumn, we suspected some difficulties. We suspected a certain type of cache and searched for that and to our surprise soon sighted this cache. Bewdy. TFTC Jamin Appleford
After looking for a while we gave up. The hide was too good for us and there seemed to be endless possibilities. We enjoyed the A/L series. Thanks for the challenge
Keen to get this one so it would be the 5th type for the day (challenge, trad, multi, earth and virtual). GPS was all over so read some logs and assumed I may need help. But..found it! Ripper. TFTC and SL at 13:50pm. Fave point for this and the AdBab.
A lovely spring day so BettyBoo3747 and I headed off to do some maintenance, and a trip up Mt Buffalo. We didn't do any long walks just a few along the road and the AdLab.Failed to located this one before lunch, but with a bit of a hint we did find it later in the day. Thanks, Robmc.
21391. I needed to do some maintenance on a cache at Porepunkah so we had planned to continue on to Mt Buffalo as the forecast was for a mild, sunny day. It was a glorious day up with the Gods. Many other people had the same idea. We did the AdLab and gathered another 8 caches at various points along the journey. A big of a saga with this one. Having completed the AdLab we arrived near GZ and I started searching exactly where we found the hide later on. However, Rob's GPSr wanted us to search about 10 metres away but that didn't feel right as it was in full view of the worlld. I kept glancing back to the original spot but we were getting hungry so headed to The Oval for lunch and sent a few HELP messages. The first reply indicated that I had indeed been searching in the correct place. We returned for anther look before heading down the mountain and dammit I found the nicely hidden cache about 6 inches away from where I had initially searched and it was the container I expected it to be. Pleased to add a smilie to the bonus cache. The gardens are looking beautiful right now in all their English Cottage Garden glory. Thanks Jamin Appleford
After 14 years of living in Albury, I have never ventured up this way. All up 14 caches, 1 DNF, a few not attempted, an adlab, and 10kms of hiking. All up a great day out finished with a pub meal on the way home. Finally found on the second attempt after a PAFTftc jamin.
This was a dnf for me after checking all the information from the ad lab. It took a message to a previous finder and a walk out to the underground river and back to prepare us for a second look and then we had it in hand. Nice and tricky and definitely more grown than when placed. TFTC
Family snow day at Mt Buffalo today. Sun was out, snow was quite patchey, but the kids still loved it. Managed to sneak in a few geocaches also.
I was the first to complete the AdLab last year but ran out of time to have a good look for this one. A lot less snow this time and the cache was quickly found. Happy to turn this frown upside down.
TFTC!

On a first time visit up here and absolutely loving it!
Such amazing scenery, the AL was one of the best I've completed so far I was pretty blown away at each location.
After looking at the views and the Chalet I went in search for this final cache and search I did,so much so I needed to reach out to the CO cause I just really wanted to complete the lab.
Thankfully the very kind CO put me on the right path and after a minute or so I finally found it...stoked, from here I moved on up the mountain
Thanks for the AL and cache

The OSHFAM clan are up here in our shack in Porepunkah. After attending the Mega in Rutherglen on the weekend, the next few days were spent looking for caches around Porepunkah and Buffalo. I had my daughter and a muggle friend with me today.
After a day of adventure finding "Long Way to the Top" cache on Mt Porepunkah, we had just reached the bottom of the mountain when a Virtual was published. It showed us 7km away as the crow flies however it's actually a 30 min drive up.
After grabbing the FTF honours for the Virtual, we made our way around the Ad Lab waypoints, enjoying all the places it took us to. Exhausted, we made our way to GZ and after checking what I now know to be the correct GZ, I convinced myself to look elsewhere and wasted 20 mins looking in all the wrongs spot. Admitting defeat, I reached out to the CO to take pity on us and give us a nudge, which he kindly did. Doh! I should have gone with my first instinct and not rushed the search here. Gotcha you little blither. Very well done here.
Tired and hungry, we signed the log and made our way back down the mountain back to the shack after a full day of adventures.
Thank you for the bonus cache here Jamin Appleford A fav point from us as we loved it

We were up on the mountain today checking on a cache of ours, and now we came over to the chalet to grab something to eat from the busy little caravan.
So while the ladies checked out the chalet, I whizzed off to grab the ad-lab which bought me to right here right now picking up the bonus cache, which I found surprisingly fast considering the container and it’s surrounds.
A favourite point from me for the views on the ad-lab of the North wall that bought back memories of the best day out abseiling that massive drop to get a cache with Team Oaky.
On a lighter note, we had the mother in law riding with us today and the last time she was up on Buffalo was 1949 when she and the father in law ride all the way up to the plateau in the back of a Ute from Yarrawonga with friends to see the snow, it was very interesting listening to her compare the mountain and the buildings at the time between then and now.

#5107 Catching up some logging. Had a nice morning out up and around the chalet area. Once the clouds lifted had nice crisp views welll into the distance. Enjoyed walking around collecting the clues from the associated AdLab. Always thought this area would be perfect for an AL. Had an idea on what to look for at gz reading previous logs so wasn't long before the well blended in cache was in hand. TFTC.
We drove from Bright today, enjoying the drive and then the Adventure Lab. Thank you for placing the cache here, that doesn't require a long walk, climb or hike.
Heading to Mt Buffalo today with LittleBoss2. This was a quick find once again. Great coords, thanks JA

What a great trail around this area, we have been here many times before but this adventure lab trail took us to see new places. Thanks!!
Enjoyed the AL and made a quick find at GZ for the final. Blends in really well at this location. Tftc
Fantastic and great history lesson of this stunning part of the world. I appreciate these l, especially being a visitor from interstate. I absolutely love these alpine caches. Struggled a little bit with the front door question but once I came back the second time, I got there. Thankfully I found the cache fairly quickly as this type of area could have kept me going for ages. TFTC
Found with McAdies and Jelly_bean14.
It was a nice warm day here for geocaching.
Great spot for a cache too.
We liked seeing all the views and even some people rock climbing.
Thanks for placing the cache for us to find here.

We are back up in the North East to visit family and enjoyed a trip out to Mt Buffalo while we are here.
It was quite hot and also really busy as to be expected for School Holidays.
The AL was enjoyable and we found the Bonus easily too.

I had a great time finding this geocache.
Thanks for hiding it.

Couldn't find this one, despite a really good look around. Did the ALs, but GZ for us both was about 3m from several possible spots, but no hint meant all were valid. Too much sticky sap and insects and muggles for a long look. No worries, enjoyed the day.
A perfect sunny day for some adventures on Mt Buffalo. We had a most enjoyable time visiting the locations of the AdLab on foot from our parking place near The Oval. Not many visitors to the area today, which meant we could take our time and take photos in peace. Finished up near the iconic Chalet and sat down nearby to sort out the coordinates for GZ. SL at 12.08pm and then it was time to wander back along the BIG Walk path to our GeoCruiser. #9381 A favourite point for adventure and the scenery.
I had a look for this one but couldn't find it today. The likely spot was wet and sticky, and it was beginning to rain, so I left it for another day. I did enjoy the Adlabs.
Found by Mary and David at 14:25. Neither of us had been up here before. Totally fogged in when we first arrived, so you could barely see the Chalet from the bottom of the stairs. Cleared up later. Gathered the numbers and calculated our GZ. Searched all around there for quite a while. About to give up, then D had a last look and there it was. Blends in extremely well. Good to learn that a lot of restoration work is being done to the Chalet - hope it can be reopened one day. A wonderful Ad Lab, and a FP given. Our thanks to Jamin Appleford.
Aquired co-ordz and had a stop at the cricket oval and joked about having to retrieve the ball after a 4 or 6. Found cache at gz after a few mins looking. Tftc
Stopped here with [@coybear2000](http://coord.info/PR9547H) on our drive up Mt Buffalo. We enjoyed doing the AL, as well we spoke with many visiting muggles. Once we had the new co-ords we headed there and started our search. It took a few minutes before we looked in the correct place and had CIH. Log signed and all replaced and we continued with our drive. TFTC.
Did the AL with Trodectus and obtained co-ords for the cache. Arrived GZ and after a bit of searching T came up with the find. Log signed and returned. TFTC.
***FTF*** gone at 1:37pm with Cristabel after a ripper morning in the fresh powdery snow at Cresta.
We often stop and check out Crystal Brook Falls, but have never checked out the oval or wandered up to the chalet past the other lookouts before. Thanks for placing this AL that enticed us to explore this area. We loved it. Pleased we didn't have to disturb anything at gz other than the nicely hidden cache. Thanks for the AL & bonus hide JA.

Had a very quick look for this one. However the kids were getting impatient ! Next time.
