TFTC:). A quick and fun find. A lot of muggles and their dogs enjoying the beach but luckily no one in vicinity of GZ.C.C
Lotsa dogs splishing and splashing around the place! Had a lot of trouble getting it back in its place though. Tftc!
*12 Oct 2024, Found @4:22PM, Find # 3956.*A nice day to take the bike on the train and head across to the otherside of the city. A quick find although it took me a little longer to replace.**Thanks to tackle_head for placing this cache.**
Had a caching day with Jascat. Took our bikes on the train and headed north to Newport. From there we made our way to the Newport Lakes Reserve, then to the foreshore. TFTC
Oh yess, it is so nice to see the sea, I miss it living inland. A great spot to sit and have a bite to eat, but only one dog on the beach today. Yesterday afternoon i realized that i had a clear day where i could sneak off for a cache or two today. I wasnt feeling a long day in the car so decided to head to Melb on the train. After starting the day at an event and cito in Newmarket i headed for Seaholme and Altona to find caches along the shore. The worst thing about living inland is that i miss the sea so this jaunt will satisfy at least two desires. If i finish the caches along here then i will take the train and get off at various stations to get some nearby ones until i head home. Altona Dog Beach is find number 3,752 for me. A fun micro sized traditional cache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Hobsons Bay City. I am logging this one on Tuesday 27 Aug 2024 at 2:16 pm and the weather is Overcast Clouds 19C 54% 10 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy tackle_head.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
I journeyed from Melbourne's CBD to this region for a power trail walk. The weather was pleasant in the morning, but it transitioned into a rainy day around noon. It was a rewarding geocaching excursion that allowed me to appreciate the natural surroundings and rural landscapes immensely.60th cache of today, Nice hide. TFTC
My last for the day, what a great area, Iv'e had some finds and some not finds, I'll be back to hopefully turn some frowns into smiles. Two trains and a bus and I'll be back home in Thomastown. Thanks Tackle head and other hiders for your great caches.Greytiger
Checked and replaced the log as required. It is in place and ready to be found.
Looked in the wrong spot to begin with then turned around & had that ah ha moment. Found, signed & returned.TFTC
Very confusing area to navigate! (I have a terrible sense of direction) nice and easy find though.TFTC
Took a little searching but we come up trumps loved the doggies enjoying a swim tftc
No dog but came anyway! Plenty of pooches and peeps. Out on trusty treadles AKA the MTB for a taste of sea salt and a dose of ozone on this rather lovely autumn day. Arrived in Melbs earlier from home base which is at higher altitudes for the convivial Vic Awards nominations EVENT. Always seeking nature where it can be found in the burbs and am impressed with the parks and gardens and trails and seeing so many people out enjoying the fresh air. TFTC and the FUN.
Found during the Victorian COTY Awards nomination event. tackle_head, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Found straight away but the magnet on the cache doesn't work very well. 6 for 9 today...
Out for a nice sunny walk with the kids and the dog today. Nice easy find TFTC
We packed the ebikes and headed to the big smoke for a couple of days. Day 2 of our bike riding and today our tour guide took us to Altona along the beach trails.Oh great fun watching all those happy pooches.A beautiful day to be out riding along here. Thanks for showing us the sights.
Quick find on a sunny morning. Log is full so I put in a temporary one. Thanks for the cache
Having found some similar at Altona beach it was a quick one for me, log very full but squeezed in my name. Tftc
A nice place for a rest stop no my bike ride. Great view of the god friendly beach. Thanks for bringing me here.
Nice, easy find. Logbook is very full, but otherwise all is in good condition. TFTC
I found this cache today on my Mega Geocaching Walk #7 - A 29,000 step walk from Seaholme, Altona Coastal Park, Cherry Lake, Altona and Westona. Interested to see that there was no connection from the path above to the path below without a very long walk around. Some dredging was happening at the beach. Thanks from D B-A
Found this one pretty quickly after getting to GZ, such a cool cache tho, TFTC!!
Had a quiet Sunday with sport over, so decided to take the geopup to the beach. Shes not fast but still was prepared to chase the chase-me dogs as hard as she could. Then I came up the the track to find this one. Thanks tackle_head
Out and about collecting some caches on a not so great weather day. Quick find but I think this was the one with the full log roll.
My thanks to tackle_head for the cache.
My thanks to tackle_head for the cache.
A trip to Williamstown and Altona saw the rain hold off allowing for a prosperous day caching despite the gale force winds.
The wee logbook is full but we managed to sign the logbook down the side.
Thanks tackle_head for the placement.

Nice quick easy, find the hardest part was warning a blank spot on the logbook to log out cash name
It was lovely seeing all the dogs being exercised on the beach this morning in the beautiful sunshine, what a great place to be.
Back in Melbourne
Rain sun wind and plans changed a million times..
But as the saying goes foul me once shame on me, foul me twice shame on you, foul me a million times - it’s the bureau of meteorology!
So discarding the notion it may rain, spiffy- and I set off on a spur of the moment caching trip out west.
No doggies swimming today however plenty of seagulls swarming around.
thanks for the placement tackle_head and story information

A plan was hatched today to go for a scooter ride this afternoon with Kristysadventures along the foreshore of Altona. It was nice and cold so we had gloves and wind jackets on but it was perfect because it kept all the muggles away from the beach and bike trails we needed to use.
This was the first one on the ride and a nice quick find was made here.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Returned to original spot. Magnet can be finicky so be gentle when putting it back! Tftc

Not many woofers round tonight.
They have done a good job here.
Plenty of hours to entertain the pooch.
Me I logged a smiley.

Not my favourite thing dogs, but put my fear aside and found the treasure. TFTC tackle head
After my wading adventure I was glad that this cache did not involve anything more than bending down to retrieve it.
Staying I'm Williamstown at my sisters. Visiting from Northern vic. Geography found this one. Tftc
If you're a dog owner this is a lovely part of the world to walk your dog or have a splash. Quick find, similar to others on the stretch. TFTC TAD
It's International Geocaching Day once again and this year the fine folks at GVI have managed to whip up a cache crawl in what seems like no time at all!
Previously scheduled arrangements meant I couldn't attend the first few events of the day, but I joined buhfuhguh and SteMicMitSar at Devil Bend to continue around to Altona where we decided to disembark the party train to pick up some local hides instead for the remainder of the evening.
We had plenty of fun all afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed this new caching experience!
Following the Altona Meadows cache crawl event, we drove alongside Altona Beach and stopped at each of the traditional caches along the way in an effort to make this area look a bit more smiley on our maps!
We became very accustomed to a container that I don't believe I've seen since a trip to America a few years ago.
I also became very talented at guessing which side of the seats the containers were stashed away on, though it soon became clear that there was a bit of a pattern to it anyway!
Figuring out how to reach gz posed a bit of a challenge but we managed to get there in the end.

A cache event crawl what an ingenious idea if I do say so myself. Seeing this day pop up I was more than excited to play a role, in a segment of it. With plans with Brain and Stemicmitsar to do the run from Cowes to Altona we were keen. What we didn't know was how under the pump we would be just trying to get to the events in time. All in all it was a great experience that I was glad to take part in. Thanks for being a part of a wonderful day out.

We were now finished with the events for the day, so we decided to find a few caches in the area but at the same time making our way slowly towards home stopping off at this one to make the find.
Today I headed out with buhfuhguh on this International Geocaching day to crawl to a few events and try to pick up a few other caches along the way, by the 4th event we had caught up with Brain to continue on the rest of the day and we ended up with six events overall.
**Thanks to tackle_head for placing this cache.**

We're loving being here - it's so beautiful, really stunning. We're celebrating our wedding anniversary today with a full day of geocaching in a super location. Thanks for the cache tackle_head
Out on my own today coming back from visiting my sister in the west. Just done the walk around the coastal walk (fantastic). Seeing that this one was so close I moved onto it. Nice parkland for the dogs to enjoy but I saw more enjoying the waves and sand. Nice easy find, cache in excellent condition. Thanks for bringing me here tackle_head
Headed out with Mudbrick this sunny winter's morning to find some of the local caches.
Number 4 for the morning here. I've covered this ground many times, particularly during Melbourne's harsh lockdowns, but back then this cache wasn't here.
A quick find using the hint.
Thanks, tackle_head.

TFTC Tackle_head! Plenty of pooches exercising their humans, luckily the action was all on h
The sand. Such a great spot for a quick grab

Today is the winter solstice but the need for a walk trumped the limited daylight hours so I found myself in Altona, able to do a decent but not extensive walk from cache to cache. Unlike the previous cache (which was a DNF) this was found pretty quickly.
Coming to the Altona seaside during winter is perfect so far as caching goes, minimal muggles!

A cold and miserable day for geocaching didn't stop us from heading out to this area to see what we could collect. This was the first of the day and after a misfire trying to get on the bridge we took the right path and had the cache in hand shortly after.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks for this set of geocaches in this area, while a cold day, it was bracing along the waters edge and we felt very invigorated after the days adventures.

I have noticed these caches on my map since they were published not long ago and they were always in the back of my mind I must get to them one day.
So I picked another beautiful Melbourne day to go for a walk after work.
I can see why this place was nearly deserted as between freezing winds and the occasional shower only the dedicated dog walker or us mad cachers would come down this way.
It has been quiet a while since I have been down here and boy have they done a lot of work to this area.
I don’t have a 4 legged friend at the moment but it would be a great place to bring them here for a run and also for a swim at the beach (when it warms up a bit I think).
A quick find in the cold.
Thanks tackle_head TFTC.
