**21,612**Choose my time carefully, so as not to raise the suspicion of any passing muggles. The tree was very obvious and the cache a quick find. Again choose my moment to re-emerge back on to the track, and then it was off to the next one. TFTC

Out on the bikes with rattll, picking up caches along the western side of Onerahi. Leaving the bikes by the track, we soon located the tree, and the cache shortly after that. No problems, left a TB. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!

Very easy find just off the track, was out in the open not sure if it’s in it’s original spot?

After a quick stroll to GZ between the rain showers I found the pen I took with me didn’t work, dropped off a TB I picked up on my working holiday to the South Island.

Good hiding spot

We were passing so... up the geotrail. Nothing obvious here, but Mr D searched back down and spotted the crucial object - rather younger than expected. Effective camouflage!

Back in January 2018 I found GC46 down in Wellington, and about the same time became aware of the challenge cache GC325CX requiring the logging of the top 10 oldest caches in the North Island. Since then I have been slowly working my way towards completing this challenge, and as of April this year I was down to just one more cache required. My trip to Whangarei this weekend was all about finding GC366 to complete this challenge. Obviously I was gonna find some other caches while I was here, and this was one of them.

A new day and more caches to find. The plan this morning is the loop of tracks down here.

Thanks to 0B80B8 for placing this cache here.

Was out with Mrs Jag and she soon spotted the twisted one!
Good idea to put cache near here!
Up from Auckland for a spot of dedicated geocaching...

12-Aug-22
Out exploring the area with Supernannny. Even during the middle of the day this was a very busy cycle trail. Once at gz we followed the geo trail to get closer to the given coordinates. Lots and lots of asparagus weed growing here. We turned around and spotted your well camouflaged cache. TFTC

While dealing with sorting out the final for the NFC-cache, the rest of the family had gone on ahead and I found GAR and my brother-in-law looking for this cache when I caught up with them. They had not yet found it and I was no better when I joined them until I happened to glance, as the previous logger had, over to where my brother-in-la had just gone back to the path and what do you know, there it was - he'd walked right past it. Thanks for placing and adding to my unexpected (so much so that I didn't even have my caching kit with me and just my phone) caching adventure today 0B80B8!

In the area for the NFC Multi and this was close enough to the final GZ to push on for one more, and the final find, of the day. The retained cache was an easy find after following one geotrail then looking across and spotting it along from a second option. All good here, though no TB sighted today, might have been my poor attention though.

The only full day we have in the area for this visit, a few caches found and a nice walk around the Hatea river loop, and a few ideas for a future cache of my own here. The weather was awesome with no wind and plenty of sun in the blue sky.
It's time to meet grandchild number 16 and a previously booked break to say hi, or await arrival, is now here. We are off to Northland via an overnight in Auckland, then 2 nights in Ngunguru then a trip down to Rotorua before heading back home next week.
Thanks to all COs for their hides today.

Second visit for me, last time the day was closing in so a bit dark in the bush to find a twisted tree. Found this time and the attached was signed, the cache kind of resisted been hidden well but who else other than cacher would venture up here.

I don't know how I missed the notification for this but I saw it half an hour after it was published. Wondered if I was too late already given I was at least 30 mins away.

With no milk in the house I thought I'd try for the ftf chance as a run to town wouldn't be wasted either way.

I parked at the bottom flat end this time and wore my rain coat incase the rain started. It was a lovely walk to gz. I'd been along here years ago but forgotten how neat the track was. Still love the old puriri on route.

I got to gz and my phone wasn't very good at pinpointing where I should be. There seemed to be a slight trail already so up I went. Did quite a hunt around before spotting the hide on an even smaller tree than expected. Yah {FTF} #225 at 10.22am. I took one trackable and put three others in. Thanks for the cache Smile
